If you like Matsuri Hino's work check out Vampire Knight, But I bet you've heard of it already right? haha.

I got a random volume of manga the other day. I was in Kinokuniya, somewhat sad that I had very little money, but I was able to afford Dolls, volume one. I read it that night. It was actually very good. It is my second short story style manga, and I enjoyed how the different short stories had different themes, and that running through each short story was a plant doll (a living doll essentially), and the owner of the shop that sells them. He leads an interesting life. It reminded me quite a bit of Tarot Cafe.
Dolls, volume One Rating- 4/5

Last night I ordered Miyuki-chan in Wonderland off of the Book Depository. I have heard that it is annoying, but I made a vow that I would collect everything that CLAMP ever writes, so I bought it. Considering the last few times that I have tried to buy it it has been out of stock, I was pretty happy to find it, and buy it.
: ) So that is now 291 volumes of manga I believe.

Well, I decided to count how many volumes of manga I'll need to complete all of the series I want to complete. It is over 193 books... I am now officially scared. So, now I am going to figure out how much approximately I will have to spend to complete them, and scare myself further...

Maybe you should start with 5 manga's a month? smile I'm doing this as well and if I have more money I buy no more than 10. This way you'll get closer each month. I actually need around .. 63 manga's now. I'm excluding Butterflies,Flowers, Ouran and such because I only have 1 volume right now and I want to focus on my other series first.

Well, I normally buy closer to ten volumes a month (on a good month... some months my money must go elsewhere) as I allow myself a $50 a fortnight budget for manga. My problem is that I tend to get distracted from series that I am reading and want to start another one (I think many of us share this particular problem). Now that I have a proper list though, I can remain focused. So I am going to go on Book Depository to find out the prices (pretty much the cheapest place for me, because I live in Australia, and shipping from other websites sometimes outweighs the savings- Book Depository doesn't charge shipping). I will also need to find out what is out of print, available, and preorder, so that I don't get myself too mixed up. Wish me luck : )

Well, just ordered Sgt. Frog 6-7 and 9-15. I ordered them from Right Stuf. It was pretty much the only place that had them that I could find... Alas, shipping was $35. So, next time I get paid I will get the rest of them : )
I think that they will be the highest priority on my to buy list, as they are out of print, and my boyfriend loves them too >w<
So, that puts me up to 300 volumes of manga!!! That was my end of year goal for this year... sweatdrop so now I need to come up with a new goal. What do you guys think?

One of the things that helped me was limiting myself when starting new series--- I was only allowed to start new ones when I finished up some of my old ones. I *tried* to keep to that. Also, it helps to identify which books are more in danger of going out of print first; when CMX shut down, collecting those books became my top priority. Same with Tokyopop.
It's cool that you made your goal already. lol I'd side with Valkyrie-Chii-Chan and suggest that you try to complete as many series as you can. That's always the most rewarding bit, for me. Other than that--- there are nine months left in the year, and if you collect about 10 books a month, you could try to cut down your 193 (or is that 184 now?) books to somewhere closer to 100?

I'd be finished with my collection up till now if I bought 10 volumes a month. But I'm not doing that myself XD my mom's already turning mad .. every single time a volume comes in.
But since it's possible for you, definitly try it! I just finished Nana because of a very small bargain I just noticed smile can't wait to recieve those volumes(vol. 18-21 isn't pressed here yet so I'm quite up-to-date with 17 volumes.) Same for marmalade boy with 3 volumes left, Gals! with 2 volumes left and Alice 19th with 3 volumes left. If I have those I finished all my Dutch manga's smile Can't finish Love Berrish(German) because it's getting a reprint right now ;-;
