It's time I did some more freebies for everyone, as well as introduce some more roleplay opportunities. For now these will be the only pokemon available, but I might introduce some more depending on how this goes.
Here's the gist. This roleplay will be done at The lake of rage (aka gyarados lake), located in the jhoto region. There is a shop just west of the area that has been set up to sell some rods (for people who don't have any) so they can come and fish for pokemon.
In order for you to try and catch a pokemon, you have to generate a number between 1 and 20. 1, 2, 3 will land you a magicarp, while 18, 19 and 20 will land you a seel. Once you catch one with your rod you may battle it out wiht the pokemon or chuck it back into the lake.
there is a limit of 2 pokemon per person

((I just realized that if I mod that post, it'll re-roll.))
Eienna asked the ponyta she was astride to slow down. No use rushing on such a beautiful day. Roraima snorted, but acquiesced; she liked the sun as well, warming both their faces. They crested over a rise of gorgeous green grass set with meadow flowers, and Eienna gasped. She'd never seen a lake before, and this one held her spellbound.
A few moments later, her trance was disrupted by the appearance of Charlie out of one of her Pokeballs, who began to waddle toward the water with so much enthusiasm that Ei had to laugh. She nudged her mount on to follow him, taking in the morning sweetness.
Nearing the edge, she hopped off. "Hold up, Charlie," she called, laughing quietly. "Hey, Ror, think you can keep an eye on our favorite knucklehead for a sec? I've gotta go in the store." A nicker told her all she needed to know. Even Roraima thought he was awfully cute, in an adorable idiot kind of way.
The bell rang as she entered curiously. It was her first time, so....wow, what a selection. "Umm....excuse me..." she called to whoever might hear her. "I could use some help."

"how can I be of service to ya miss?" a guy in a fishing costume appeared behind the counter, holding up some rods and placing some fishing bait ontop of the counter. "Do you need some rods? or some berries to help ya fish?"
(you could try rolling and making a 2nd post for the rp?))

"Yes, thank you sir. Only...I don't know what to get." She waited patiently until he came back with gear he felt would suit her. She smiled cheerfully, handed him a little money and headed out. Charlie looked a bit perturbed at the temperature of the water, but was determined to go in anyway; Roraima lay near the edge, keeping an eye on him while Eienna puzzled over the requisite knots. She did eventually get her pole in the water and sat back.

A few minutes of nothing got her watching her Psyduck's antics, laughing quietly. Then he got in too far and became frightened, unable to get back to shore because he hadn't yet figured out this 'swimming' business. Ei got up quickly and waded out, grabbing him by some loose skin over his back, but he kept flailing. She held him up for a minute. "Charlie. Stop it." He looked at her with those big funny eyes and she lowered him back into the water, holding him about where he should be. Then she began to instruct him on how to swim.
Meanwhile, the pole waited.....

It took several minutes of instructing him like he was a rather dull sort of child, but he began to catch on. "That's it, buddy! I'm proud of you!" Slowly, she let go, allowing him to keep going without her. He made it work for about twelve feet, but it was becoming obvious he was getting tired. Eienna waded over to him and fished him out, looking very proud. "Good job, Charlie!"
The psyduck's usually blank look became a happy sort of blank look, and Ei contemplated visiting more often for swimming lessons. He certainly seemed to be able to do it.
Toweling them both off, she glanced at the pole again....

"magikarp's picture goes here BD"
Finnlay the pole seemed to have a tug on the line, and then a magikarp was fished out of the water, to be brought onto the land and flop around a bit, like all magikarp seem to do
"karp karp magikarp!"

Eienna nearly squealed. Her first fish! But now....what to do with it? She'd heard about them. I might be able to catch it as it is....it doesn't seem particularly skilled. Then again...I can't make out what it's saying. I guess my ability doesn't stretch to waters. She glanced at her Psyduck. Can't really understand him either. Then another thought. Bet Charlie could get in some practice on that one! It shouldn't hurt him. "Hey, Charlie! Wanna help me out here and have a try at battling this fish?"
He waddled over willingly enough, though he didn't quite seem to have the idea. "OK, Charlie, let's try your Scratch attack. Remember how I taught you?" "Psy....yiy." ((shoot, it won't let me do the action in an edit...))

Magikarp HP: 100 - 40 = 60
The magikarp took a nasty scratch attack, and..flopped around some more, albeit a bit faster now. It appeared to be using it's splash attack

As usual, Splash does absolutely nothing.
"Excellent, Charlie! One more ought to do it! Scratch Attack again!"

the scratch attack was easily powerful enough to send the poor magikarp flying back into the water again, but this one was sent flying, another one flies up to take it's place on the ground, flopping wildy around

"Ohhhh....kaaay...I didn't mean to do quite that much." Eienna winced. "All right, Charlie, just once this time, and I'll try to catch it then."
