Story

Long ago, the God of all the Gods banished others of his kind to earth for crimes they have committed against their bretheren. They are called the Fallen. The Gods that were sent to earth had to try and find their way back to the world that they had fallen from.
Until then, they must blend in with the humans, although they have powers but in a diluted form. Most of the Gods that were banished take the appearance of humans varying between the ages of 10 to 25. Some Gods were so powerful that when they were banished they were put in a form of a child.
Also there are many problems. The God of Gods want the Fallen killed, so he'll send other Gods to do his dirty work, those Gods are stuck in the human world until their mission is complete, they are called Seekers. If the God of Gods has his way, there will be chaos.
Humans don't believe in Gods either, so the Gods themselves must act like there are no such thing as Gods, when they are around humans. Though there are special cases in where they will reveal their true nature to the mere mortals. But more or less they have to protect humans if the Gods that have mission take a human hostage.

Rules

Activity - Because I don't want the role play to die, members are going to be expected to post at least four times a week though not more than seven times a day, quality over quantity I don't want to come back and see a billion pages from where I left off, I'm sure others will feel the same way. Also his is a long term role play and I want it to last for as long as possible. If you're going to be away or cannot post for a while, please PM me. If you are waiting for someone to reply to your post, post in the OoC thread while you wait. You can get to know the other members that way and at least we'll all know that you're still alive.
Character - People aren't perfect and neither will the characters in this role play. Your character must have some flaws. Everything is a lot more interesting that way then having characters that are super nice and always friendly and smart. But that doesn't mean that you should make a character that is always going to be crying throughout the whole role play or something like that. Be creative and have a unique character. It gets boring if every character is just like the other. Girls may play guys and vise versa. You may create more then one character but no more than three.
Fun - Feel free to add a little drama and even chaos to the role play. That is always loved. We want you to have fun here and for that to happen, we need everyone to be respected. Do go lamming each others posts and make sure to include others. If someone if role playing alone, try to role play with them and for those of you who are role playing alone, try to get in on a conversation with the other members. We need you to put out an effort as well.
Joining - To join The Fallen please fill out a profile skeleton and then PM it to me. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to PM me and don't be afraid to reserve a spot if you want.
Literacy - One-liners will not be allowed even when you have a writer's block I demand at least a paragraph if not more. Be at least semi-lit. Post in past tense and in third person. Type out your words and use complete sentences. Do not use chat speak. Capitalize when necessary and use punctuation and all that good stuff. People make mistakes so don't worry you have a few typos here and there . So as long as your post in understandable, then it shouldn't be a problem. Try to reread your post or use spell check, it really helps.
Post - In posts, you are allowed to cuss as much as you want as long as it's not every other word or something like that. Do not make quote towers. They stretch the page and it looks really messy. If you plan to type OoC in this thread, make sure you have some sort of brackets to indicate it. (Ex. {{}}, [[]], (()), or something like that.). Feel free to pretty up your posts however you want.
Ratings - Romance is allowed but make sure it doesn't go above PG13. So that also means that there will be no cybering. Fighting and violence is also allowed but don't have yours characters bickering in every single post. Killing characters isn't allowed though just because it doesn't exactly fit with the role play. Make sure you follow the ToS.
More rules may be added at any time. So make sure you check back here.

The Setting
Suburbia! White houses, blue houses... they're all pretty much the same two-story with slight or extreme differences on the inside. But if you can't afford a house, there are apartments scattered throughout the city in the heart of downtown. The bus is taken to school and for others, they walk there. The park is located in the center of downtown where there are many many little boutiques and cafes.

Now it is December, and everything is still and cold... A thick carpet of snow blanket's the streets, as young children anticipate the coming of Christmas in a few weeks and the gifts Santa will bring!

User ImageMimi smiled as she popped her head down the cellar door, turning on the dim light as she started her way down into the darkness. "I don't know why I torture myself by putting the tree and stuff down here every year" she mumbled to herself, and as she reached the bottom step she reached both her hands out to feel around the walls. After about ten minutes of pure darkness she finally found the storage room where all the boxes where hidden away until she needed them. After another torturing search Mimi was now carrying several boxes up the steps all on her own, and dropped them onto the floor as she reached the top step and shut the cellar door. "Alright lights and tinsel check, tree and all the other junk I need check" she said as she checked off her mental list and started kicking the boxes into the front of her shop. As she started unpacking the boxes Mimi started humminh a christmas song, and was glad that her little shop was still on the market at this point. With a small smile Mimi started decorating her tiny little shop, knowing very well Santa wouldn't be visiting her this year or any other year.

When Mimi had finshed adding soft twinkling lights around the window of her shop, she began tackling her next project which happened to be the tree. She humming cheerfully she adding bright colourful bulbs all around the tiny tree, and threw tinsel all over the place to make it shine with a silver icy look. After countless broken bulbs, and a few other problems the tree was colourful and also light up with bright lights that made her shop feel homey. She slowly brushed the dust from her skirt, and changed the sign on the door to say open instead of closed. Though she knew this would be just another Christmas alone, Mimi had the feeling it wouldn't be just another bleak one with nothing but dullness. Mimi pulled her midnight black hair from her face and tied it back with a soft crimson colored scarf as she continued her humming and cleaning of the shop. "Perhaps Santa will send a few customers my way" she thought with a sad sigh as she leaned against the counter top, with nothing but another day of being by herself.

As she listened to the silence her thoughts wandered back to the first christmas she could remember, back to when she was only about four. Her father had tried to do the best he could to get her a few gifts, but alas he had only been able to get her one special gift. They gift had been a silver chained pendant with a picture of her mother and herself on the left side while on the right side it read "always together, through thick and thin." She still wore the pendant to this very day, and thinking about it caused her to wrap her slender fingers around it as it hung from her neck. "I miss you both so much..." she murmered to herself as she enjoyed the thoughts of the past with her father. She didn't really like thinking about losing her father, and she knew she couldn't have saved her mother from the death that came upon her either. So instead she loved everything she got no matter how small, and cherished every last moment of her life since she knew it might be her last.

User ImageIt was a chilly December morning, and the former Goddess of Death Azrael stared morosely out the big bay windows of the Willow River Hospice to the thick pristine carpet of new snow that had fallen overnight. The beautiful thick blanket of white outside had buried much of the foilage and shrubs that were ornamentally planted outside, and the bewitching dark haired beauty could feel the life inside the plants diminishing to a state near death, and they would remain in that state of hibernation until the sun melted away the last snowflake and the sun's rays would call up new shoots from the damp dark soil.

"...Sasha...Sasha dear, are you listening?" The Goddess' straying thoughts were interupted and brought back from it's wandering by by raspy old voice accompanied by the touch of a wrinkled old and on her arm. Azrael, now known as Sasha by her few human aquaintances glanced down to look at the withered aged hand to see that it was attatched to a friendly wheel chair bound patient named Doris.

" Sorry Dorris. I'm afraid I was daydreaming. You were saying?" Sasha replied softly.

" Nothing dear, nevermind. It's ten o' clock now, shouldn't you be getting home? You've been up all night." Doris said kindly peering up at the Goddess with filmy kind grey eyes. It was true Sasha generally took the night shift, she was a night owl and she suffered from insomnia which she attributed to her sensitivity to death which would keep her up at night.

Funny, I've never suffered any such ailments in Paradise, and now that I'm cast down onto this ball of dirt I'm surrounding by any which number of things that can make me gravely ill.

" Yes, I suppose I should get going now. I'll see you later tonight." Azrael said, bidding the old woman farewell with a wave of her hand as she left the cafeteria to go to the front desk to go change and collect her things. She went into the changing room with her scrubs on and came out wearing a black blouse, grey jeans and black boots, slipping into her black pea coat she exchanged goodbyes with the incoming morning staff before heading out the sliding glass doors and out into the still falling snow outside.

The sudden change in temperature from comfortably warm to frigidly cold was a shock to her human body. Gentle temors shook her body as her breath left her lips in visible white plumes of vapor, as she began to walk to her car seeing that her only mode of transportation was covered with snow Sasha. After a few minutes of brushing snow off her windshield, Sasha pried the door open of her black Mitsubishi eclipse, with numb fingers she slid her key into the ignition with numb hands and heard the engine growl to life. Turning the heat up, Sasha waited until she felt warm again.

Then when she could feel the stinging cold leave her fingers the Goddess carefully droved out of the parking lot of the hospice and out onto the sleet covered road. The further she got away from the old folks home the more the feeling of death that always accompanied her while she was there lessened. As Sasha manuvered her vehicle on the road, she realized that it was really boring driving with no music. And the Goddess wasn't a fan of the popular song after popular song replaying on the radio, so she decided to take a detour to a music store before heading home to her two cats and a welcoming bed.

As Sasha drove downtown, she spotted a music store called Heart Strings that caught her eye. As she managed to parallel park on in front of the store. Getting out of her sleek black vehicle, she locked it and stepped into the warmth of the store. Glancing around the Goddess saw that the store was empty, but there was a prescence in the store that seemed vaguely familiar to her. It was something she had not felt since her fall from Paradise three years ago and only occasionally since then when Seekers were near, but it had been eight months since her last run in with a Seeker.

My imagination, I suppose. Sasha thought to herself as she browsed through the store's aisles fingering through the numerous cd selection.

First winter of expulsion; cold. Cold in human form at least, but is the heat of the store leg warmers with stockings seemed to do nicely. As well as an long sleeved blouse with a frill scarf and pleated mini skirt. The colours of those clothes; unique, to say the least. It suited him well, after all his human figure could easily be made to look like a females or males.

The snow had fallen heavily that Sunday morning so there was less business than the norm. Rene had decided earlier that morning to do the whole decorating for Christmas thing that got humans all hyped up.

So at eight o’clock that morning Rene spent an hour decorating the store. But, unfortunately he went a little overboard. A five foot, over decorated and real tree. Decorations nearly everywhere including a row of miniature, 3D wire reindeer entwined with fairy lights running the length of one of the CD racks. He even put a one of those ‘Merry Christmas’ signs up in one of the shopfront windows, you know the ones in those decorative fonts that are nearly illegible. Just for fun Rene had taken to wearing a reindeer horn headband as well.

The pitiful state of Christmas was proving quite amusing. Rene had even put Christmas songs up on sale at the front counter. But well humans seemed to like being distracted my things like this; Easter for chocolate, St Patricks day for drinking and Christmas for gifts. It would be interesting to see how the rest of this holiday season turned out.

Key had gone out soon after the store opened. Seemed the little pet wanted to go experience the snow more seeing as it would be her first real time in it. That left Rene in the store alone. Not that he minded much, he put some perpetual song called jingle bells on and let it run over and over. It would be maddening to any normal soul.

Rene had gone out back to get new stock to get new stock since some of the popular CDs and DVDs where selling out fast. He came back humming the addictive jingle bells song with a suitcase sized box in one arm to find someone browsing the CDs. “Happy Holidays,” He said in a voice not quite of one gender of the other “Welcome to Heart Strings.” The neutral clad woman had a strange aura around her but a potential customer she was.

User ImageSasha had picked up and was examining the hard plastic case of a cd when a voice of unknown gender piped up greeting her. Glancing up she saw a human of questionable gender coming towards her a box of cds tucked under an arm. A delicate eyebrow quirked upwards as she examined the figure before her, the store employee was dressed rather...uniquely to say the least, though Rene was quite attractive by human standards though Sasha didn't know to whether to call this person beautiful or handsome. The long ivory colored hair and wine red eyes were rare color combinations in a human, but that wasn't what made Azrael stare at the person before her, it was the aura this 'human' was giving off.

" Happy holidays." Sasha replied back as she tore her azure eyes away from the Heart Strings employee, back to the cd in her hand though she occasionally stole secretive glances at his or hers face. There was something familiar about this person's aura familiar but unerving to the Goddess. And it took a lot to unerve the Goddess of Death.

Not a Seeker...This person isn't a Seeker, otherwise they would not have established themselves in this way. Azrael rationalized to herself. Seekers were only sent to Earth to collect and kill the Fallen, there was no need for them to make a life for themselves like the Gods and Goddess' who had fallen from Paradise because they were not forever banished to this planet of earth and water.

Still, Sasha was not going to take any chances she had never gotten along with her own kind and chances were she still wouldn't. This earth bound God or Goddess, could be benign or mavolent and Azrael was cautious, sure she could die but she would always be reincarnated into another human form but that didn't mean she wanted to test that theory out.

I should leave. Quickly. The lovely dark haired woman decided as she browsed the aisle somemore picking up two more cds by various artists. La Roux, Select Start, and Within Temptation were the three artists of the cds she had chosen as she sauntered over to the cash register. Placing the three cases onto the counter top, Sasha pulled her heavy long dark hair over her right shoulder before pulling out her wallet.

" I'm ready to pay." Sasha called out to the attractive employee, as she withdrew a sufficient amount of money from her wallet for the three cds.

Rene was rather bemused by the customer. She has been eying him off then looking back at her browsing while he was putting the CDs in the perspective racks.

It was kind of cute. Maybe she was jealous of his divine looks that seemed so rare for a human to be able to maintain? Well maybe not, she was not all that bad herself, in fact her features where rather extraordinary for a human; the dazzle of blue eyes accompanied by long black hair. Makes you wonder why some sicko had yet to cut her up or maybe that was just Rene, either way he was curious.

The woman picked up three and went to the counter in a hurry. Why? No need to hurry. Rene was only thinking of how delicious you look. The woman’s aura seemed more potent than Key’s but then Key never really learned how to awaken much of her power so there was not much to be sealed.

When she called him over he decided to take his time serving her since that aura was being more and more intriguing. He took the CDs and slower than normal he typed into the register.

“I have not seen you around before. Are you new to the area?” He spoke in hope o inciting a conversation. “Oh! And I hope you don’t mind me asking but I just must ask where you got that gorgeous coat from. It’s just darling.” His question was both curious and direct.

Rene had never met any gods other than Key since leaving heaven but if this person was one than in would make things really rather interesting.

The jingle bells song playing in the store started again in its seemingly endless repetitive circle threatening the sanity of the very speakers that sounded its song.

User ImageAs Sasha waited for the male or female employee to finish up putting away a the new cds and make their way over to the customer counter, she noticed how he too couldn't stop looking at her out of the corner of his eye either. Normally that wouldn't bother her, she was a Goddess after all even if she was Death incarnate she was still stunningly beautiful. Among the Goddess' she may not have been as lovely as Aphrodite, but among mortals her loviness went beyond that of words.

Even in her current slender human form with her long wavy blackish blue hair, perfect porcelain complexion, almond shaped sapphire eyes framed by thick black lashes and Dresden doll features, Stella was quite the beauty if not intimidating with her cold demeanor and all that black she wore.

But this was no mortal, Azrael was sure of that. This figure meandering towards her was an Immortal though God or Goddess she didn't know. Not that that bothered too much, there were a few hermaphrodite Immortals in Paradise but they were few. The closer this person got to her the stronger his aura was, and when Rene finally stepped behind the register he was so close that the aura emanating from his was almost tangible and Azrael got the impression of a still body of water that was endlessly deep.

“I have not seen you around before. Are you new to the area?” The store worker inquired as he or she slowly typed the prices of the cds into the register.

" No, I've been here for about three years now." Sasha murmured truthfully as a slender hand reached up as she curled her index finger around a long tendril of her thick black hair. A habit she had picked up in this human form. It was then that Sasha noticed that the jingle bells song had been replaying itself over and over ever since she stepped foot into the shop.

“Oh! And I hope you don’t mind me asking but I just must ask where you got that gorgeous coat from. It’s just darling.”The next inquiry she recieved from Rene mildly surprised her, and she blinked her sapphire hued eyes once before replying.

" I got if from one of the clothing boutiques around here. I believe it's just down the street from here." The human bound Goddess replied, as her gaze flickered to the tiny moniter to see the price of her purchases. Seeing that she had pulled out enough money from her wallet just moments before, Sasha handed twenty five dollars to the Heart Strings clerk, her fingers accidentally brushing Rene's.

For a moment, it felt as if Sasha had just grabbed hold of an electric fence. The power of the aura the Goddess had felt emanating from the store clerk was nothing compared to what she felt when she had touched him. Quickly drawing back her hand, the bewitched beauty rubbed it against the other, her exotic sapphire eyes flickering up to look at Rene's face.

" Sorry, static shock." Sasha mumbled sheepishly.

The woman seemed shy as she told him she has been around for three years, though it could be told as uncomfortable. “Oh? Well I guess I have only been around these parts for less than a year anyway.”

When she answered the question of the pea coat Rene was not really satisfied with the answer, but what could he do? Pin her against the wall and make her answer correctly? He was not one hundred present sure but he thought that might not be smiled upon in the soiled land.

Rene finished typing in the info and put the CDs in a bag for the woman. Taking the cash from her hand they touched. He felt what could be described as a wasp sting come from the woman and the hairs on his back stood on end.

She has pulled away quickly and brushed it off as static. But that could not be it. That fraction of a second could not have been any ordinary static. It was the essence of a god and definitely not a demigod or human.

He held out his hand to place the $3.75 change in the woman’s hands and lent closer to her. Eyes fixed on hers. “That was no static. Just who are yo...” His nearly whispering and intense voice dropped off as his head and eyes went to the store front window as the sound of a car horn went off.

His attention now focused at Key. Key was running, rather awkwardly across the road and had a near miss with a ute. Her hands where holding up a strange lump under her nee length coat. Rene raised an eyebrow, what was his pet goddess up to?

User ImageMan, this is a male God. Sasha decided the aura she had felt touching him was distinctly male, as she looked down at her hand purposely avoiding Rene's crimson eyes. Not that it mattered much an Immortal was still an Immortal no matter what gender they were. She could still feel the essence of his aura coursing through her body, the jolt she had gotten flowing through her veins, it felt as if she had ingested ten cups of high octane coffee. Whoever this person was...he was powerful.

And he knows...He knows who I am...What I am. Azrael chanted in her mind, she wasn't panicked exactly but she was feeling slightly apprehensive. She was sure she wasn't the only one who felt something in that moment when they had touched, most likely he probably didn't know she was the Goddess of Death, but he for sure knew she was an Immortal. And the feeling that he knew wasn't going away now that Rene's eyes were locked on her, his gaze so intense that Sasha had to meet it.Then the God leaned in close to her, his ruby red eyes meeting her sapphire ones.

“That was no static. Just who are yo...” He began but his voice cut off as his attention was drawn elsewhere, and Sasha wanted to let loose the sigh of relief when the God turned his intense gaze out the store windows. Intently watching a young woman run slipping and sliding on the icy snow strewn streets towards the store. The pretty blonde was awkwardly running with her arms curled protectively over something hidden in her coat.

Seeing that now was her chance to escape without having to answer anymore of Rene's prying questions, Sasha snatched up the plastic bag with her purchases in it and bolted towards the door. She would be glad to get away from this God and the annoying Christmas music he kept playing over and over and over on the store PA system.

" Thank you, keep the change." Sasha added quickly as she made for her speedy getaway. Unfortunately for the Goddess her getaway was too hasty and as soon as she stepped out the front door of the shop she slipped on the slick sleet on the street, right as the blond woman ran up to the door.. A gasp of surprise escaped the the normally stoic Goddess as she felt herself fall backward and land hard on her back smacking the back of her head down hard on the thin carpet covered cement of Heart Strings.

A small groan of pain escaped the dark haired woman as she lay somewhat stunned on the ground, her torso still remaining in the store while her legs lay on the cold snowy layer of the sidewalk outside.

Eros opened his eyes and found himself nude on a warm beach. The sand stuck to his sweaty body and all his well developed muscles ached. It had been a long fall.

He looked down at the sun tanned body, his human body, with a small smile. At least his mother deemed him with a suitable human form, along with suitable human equipment, he noted as he looked down at himself. Eros moved over to the edge of the water and looked down at his soggy reflection. He looked almost like his former self, but more delicate. He moved into the water and washed off the sand and sweat. Then he moved out of the beach to find a huge abandoned shirt, which he threw over his form carelessly.

Eros deemed this new form Ein. He made up a new background story for himself. He decided to say that he grew up rural France where he went to a private music school. He graduated early top of his class, and them moved to the small town he now resided in. Though he wasn't quite sure where he was.

Eros, now called Ein, went into town to search for some clothes. He wasn't too fond of stealing but he compromised with a local dress maker by fulfilling some of her more carnal needs. She gave him a nice black jacket and a white wife beater, accompanied by some worn out looking blue jeans. He asked her where the nearest place to get a good job was and she told him about a small shop she knew was hiring down the road. He greeted her and was on his way.

The shop was absolutely perfect. It was a small instrumental boutique that sold hand made instruments. He walked in and talked up the pretty white haired girl at the counter, who despite his coaxing wouldn't allow him a single opportunity to court her, into letting him live in one of the upstairs rooms of the building as long as he worked off his rent at the shop. He was allowed to keep any money he made over the rent.

The girl introduced herself as Niobe Azore. The owners of the building are her parents, who entrusted it to her to take care of for the summer while they were in Europe. She did her duty and made sure that everything was done right. And Ein respected that. By the time everything was settled it was beginning to get late. And he and Niobe were going to go shopping for new clothing for him in the morning since all he had was what he was wearing. It was her treat.
