Now I know we have briefly already talked about this. But considering the league is finally going to be formed soon... I had a couple of ideas to ask everybody about and see what people think. Obviously most of us have already taken advantage of creating in depth villains, but something to think about... in the comics and regular super hero life... there are always minor villains that step into the spotlight and wreak havoc for multiple amounts of reasons. If anybody reads comics they will know exactly what I am talking about. Villains who aren't HUGE in the story, but make appearances now and then to cause some destruction and then are thrown in jail, killed, run away, etc.

I am posing that when the league finally does form a couple of us should take advantage of creating small and minor villains that can appear in the overall complex story of LoSI to kind of create a small event where members all team up and fight the villain. Now it doesn't have to be huge events, but I just think it'd be cool if a couple of minor villains started cropping up so that members have opportunities practice RPing and battling it out with villains and such. Any ideas? Comments? Questions?

Sounds like an excellent idea and I know exactly what you mean. Characters like that are in almost any long time running show/comic book/manga/anime/etc. I'd be willing to make one, seeing as I like to create random characters [tekteks] at points. O.o

Only real question is, should there be a special "mirror villains' profile" thread so we can give a small background (granted, very small) to the villain and link their first posts, their defeats and various attempts after that? It may keep the guild a little more organized and keep these mirror villains separate from the main RP chars. ._. That's my two cents... *shrug*

I like your idea. But what I think is that if someone is planning a minor villain and wants them to have super powers, the first post with the villain should be them getting their super powers or something prominent. Yes a back story is good and we should make a place where we can keep info on the villains like a villain's database.

I meant "back story" in a way I guess could be better said as "summary of past villain activities". So newer members don't have to go through older RPs to understand a reference between the villain and an a hero. Just to clarify. sweatdrop

And yeah, first post = getting powers or something similar (maybe what their motivation is, or something... ._.) sounds good.

....
Is there anyone else? .-.,

Yeah, that sounds cool. Minor villains that spice up the role play when things go cold.

And a reference would be great for someone like me who is totally new.

Exactly! I think we are all thinking about this in a very good way. It will make the slower parts of the RP more exciting! Let's keep brain storming!

A few people made villains when the guild needed them, however, the choice was up to them whether they wanted to be minor or major. Clean, I think it is a good idea to clarify standards for a minor villain.

I would say that - for minor villains, all you need is a backstory - meaning a sort of a resume of previous disturbances of the peace which includes specific powers. However, I don't see why the first post would have to be anything specific... especially if the backstory is covering past deviances.

Clean - if you want to make a thread here in the PPT for tekteks and/or backstories, go for it! Everyone feel free to assume that all characters are accepted unless otherwise noted. In that thread, I think people should be able to post any random tekteks that they are considering using, or that they want to offer other people to use.

In most comics... minor villains get their first powers or are introduced in the first post. If you give them a backstory the "minor" part is lost. That is how I feel. Considering these are minor characters they should not be given "major" backstories. That's just my opinion.

Creating these villains is just a way to cause disturbances around town without it being HUGE to the plot. These are all great ideas though. I have an idea for a minor villain that I will be setting up very soon!

I don't mean a huge elaborate background/history. Just the basics... a power, and what they're known for/if their known for anything.

And this doesn't have to be 'like most comics.' I think people should be able to set up their villain however they'd like.

Yes.... but all I am saying is that the basis of this is to have MINOR characters come in and out and get the group together for a little action. The villains should by no means be the most complex people in the world. That's all I am saying.

And speaking of which a minor villain of mine is going to be appearing soon. If you look at some of my newer posts he is mentioned a couple of times.

AND WITHOUT FURTHER ADO... HERE IS THE FIRST MINOR VILLAIN PROFILE!!!!

Name: Dustin Bunnell

AKA: TBA

Powers: TBA

Personality: Dustin is a sweet and kindly man, but with the pursuing disrespect from Mr. Snottsborn is causing "Dusty," as many people call him, to lose a bit of his calm and tranquilness. But he is still trying to hold it together.

Short Bio: Dustin is 56 years old and has been working as a janitor for Snottsborn Industries since he was 22 years old. He loved working for Eugene Snottsborn's father, but now is currently employed under Eugene Snottsborn. He enjoyed his work up until recently when Snottsborn decided that the janitors, whom did not even get paid all the much in the beginning, would all have their pay cut. Dustin is trying to remain calm about all of this and try and come up with a simple solution.

Dustin's appearance will be displayed by a Tek-Tek which will be available to look at soon... THIS BIO WILL CHANGE AS MORE POSTS ARE MADE AND MORE IS REVEALED ABOUT THIS NEW MINOR VILLAIN.

I'm working on a pretty reckless villain right now...Well reckless might not be the right word.

Name: Captain Donald Bradfield

AKA: "Kevin"

Powers: Weapons expert

Personality: Fresh from war Captain Donald Bradfield is something of a renegade. His service in the army is over but he misses the adrenaline. He suffers from Post tramatic stress which causes him to have very blurred lines of what is morally correct in society

Short Bio: Donald didn't see anything else in life but to serve in the army. He has seen war and was deemed mentally unstable by the army. The armies official reports include quotes from Donalds troops including, "Laughed maniaclly as he mowed down soldiers who had surrendered." Or, "Took pleasure in shooting innocent people in the back of the head in order to obtain information." After being kicked out of the army Donald simply couldn't return to day to day life. He became a mercenary for a while but this still wasn't enough to get rid of the itch.

Haha. I can't wait to see how you set him loose in Delmor!

By the way, all - you can assume that all of these are accepted. I will let you know if there are problems. I trust everyone enough to be mindful of RP courtesy/other players' rights in creating characters that are within reason.
