Congratulations on becoming a participating artist for this edition of User Image!

Activities
This are the activities you as an artists are invited to do inside your booth.

  • Giving critique and tips: As an artist, you can offer to critique the work of other artists that are or aren't participating in the Con if they ask you to do so. Be honest, and avoid harsh critique unless asked for it, unless you warn in your thread about it.

  • Give freebies: Like any Con, artists can give out freebies to the people who visit their booth. Its not obligatory, and you can choose whoever you want.

  • Do inside contests: If you want to, you can give freebies or art doing contests inside your thread. This can be based on answering questions, doing a drawing, or whatever you want!

  • Livestream: Livesteaming gives the chance to your visitors to look at you working in real time! For this, you need to be a digital artist, as the program links your desktop screen to a webpage streaming a video of you drawing. For more info, visit the "livestream instructions" post below.

  • Advertize, Get comissions:The main finality of GA-Con, is to advertize the artists chosen to participate in it. Inside your thread you can advertize any kind of shop you have. Even IRL comissions from a site outside gaia.

Events

  • Raffle One of the main events at User Image is the raffle. The artists who wish to will be included in a list and each one of them will generate a random number, and the ticket with that number will be the winner of an original piece of art from that artist. It can be whatever the artist wants to offer.

  • Courses
For this edition of GA-Con, we decided to help artists become better artists giving courses.
This will be more like a tutorial posted in a new thread inside the event. It can be done in real time (you must set a date and time, plus timezone information to do this) or you can set it up and just go there to answer questions.
Livestreaming courses are a possibility too. Be sure to have a mic.

Setting up

1- Build or edit your gallery.First of all, you need to choose which samples you will use in your booth. To do your virtual gallery, you can either display thumbnails of your artwork in a section of your booth designed for it, or redirect your visitors to your deviantart, photobucket, etc.

2- Make your Booth Go to GA-Con guild forum>Participating artists resources>default posting format. There you will find a template for you to use in your booth. This is just a base for those who want to use it. feel free to make your own! Just remember to keep the ga-con logo there somewhere
Create a thread in the GA-Con subforum, which will become your "booth."

3- Get links. If you are making a discount to GA-Con visitors, announce it in your shop. Get nice banners for each link you want to display in your booth. It can be your DA, twitter, almost anything! :3

4- Stay in touch. Check for guild announcements once in a while to be sure that you know all the latests news.

At the Con

1- Talk Talking with the visitors is one of the main reasons of this event. Ask them about art, if they buy art, etc.
If anyone acts outside your booth rules, the GA-Con rules, or the Gaia ToS, report them to a vicepresident and they will be blocked.

2- Visit other booths. You don't have to be in your own booth all the time. Browse around!

3- Draw!Livestreaming, sketch battle, freebies, there's a lot to draw in this event!

4- Have fun! The main point of the event :3.

Extras

1- Open Join Requests Throughout the event, you may see that the guild has open join requests coming from those who have purchased tickets. Please do not accept these requests. An event manager will take care of all the ticket sales and join requests.

2- Ideas Chatting, Freebies, Raffle, Contests, Commissions, Sketch Battles, Livestreams, and Courses. There's a lot to do at the con. But don't feel restricted by this list, you can use your own ideas as well. Maybe your new idea will become a standard suggestion in the next Con!

3- Raffle & Courses If you would like to join the raffle or have a course, make a post here! We will work things out there :3

Livestream Setup

Tutorial for how to install the programs to do a livestream. You may specify what times will you do it in your booth.

1- Go to http://www.livestream.com/
and create and account. Stay logged in.
2- Download Procaster and install it in your computer. This is the software that will communicate your desktop screen with the livestream channel.
3- Create a channel. Save the link to the page where the channel can be viewed. This should be www.livestream.com/[your channel's name]
4- Once all is setup, registered and installed, open procaster and log in with your account. There should be an option that lets you choose your channel inside the procaster program after you log in successfully. Setup your desktop for the broadcasting (Open your image editing program, hide nasty icons, close naughty conversations in IM, etc) Select the channel you want and when you are ready click "Go live". A menu should appear below where you can control the feed.

Any questions regarding livestream can be directed here.
