This building is a whooping 45 story skyscraper, the second tallest building in Delmor, (of course the 1st is Listerine Labs which is 101 stories high!!!). Snottsborn Industries was built in 1901 and was only 4 floors. Its goal was to produce new cleaning materials such as toilets, mops, brooms, air fresheners, etc. As the need for these materials increased, Snottsborn Industries became the leading producer of cleaning materials in the world. Basically, it started getting bank! The money flowed in and Snottsborn Industries became bigger and bigger. Mr. Eugene Snottsborn is now the current owner of Snottsborn Industries. SI was founded by Eugene's grandfather. Mr. Eugene Snottsborn lives on the 45th floor of Snottsborn Industries in a suite, which also acts as his office.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

By the time Jonathan Johnson got to Snottsborn Industries, beads of sweat were cascading down Jon’s face. He had tried to get to Snottsborn Industries in less than five minutes, which was possible if one booked it from the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex to Snottsborn Industries with no distractions. It had taken twenty minutes to get to Snottsborn Industries because on his way out, Jon ran into a hanging ghost made out of a garbage bag. It had been hanging in a nearby tree and Jon had gotten so tangled that we ended up taking half the ghost with him once he got free. Jon feared the worst when he finally met with Mr. Snottsborn. His wrath would be unbearable. Jon would most likely have a melt down.

Just as Jon got to the elevator in the lobby of Snottsborn Industries, he heard an excited, yet firm voice behind him. “Hey Jon! Johnny-Boy! Hold the elevator!”

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Jon put his hand in between the sliding elevator doors in order to let one of his friends into the elevator.

“Thank you so much bro! Busy day… busy day…” Drew Dubberberry exhaled deeply after he said this.

Drew Dubberberry was probably the only thing close to a friend that Jon had here at Snottsborn Industries. Drew was a little bit taller than Jon and wore his sandy hair long enough to almost cover his brilliant green eyes. He was well built and looked a bit intimidating, but there was something about the way he carried himself that made it look like he would sooner give you a big hug than pick a fight with you. Drew was one of the head janitors at Snottsborn Industries.

“Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeah! Yeah!” Jon agreed with Drew.
“You look tense Johnny-Boy. What’s the problem?” Drew asked with actual concern in his voice.

“No-no-no-no-no-no-noth-noth-nothing ne-ne-ne-ne-ne-new… new… j-j-j-j-just was c-c-c-c-c-c-ca-ca-ca-called into work s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-sssssss-suddenly!” Jon tried to keep cool, but he was stressed and his stuttering was now fully present.

“Suddenly? Mr. Snottsborn had been stressing about some project all day. I would have thought you’d be here all day getting ready. It must be a pretty intense project. What is it Johnny-Boy?”

Jon was always willing to talk with Drew about the going on’s at Snottsborn Industries, but with this new project him and Snottsborn were working on, Jon had been sworn to secrecy under the penalty of losing his job. He looked at Drew and shook his head slowly. “I-I-I-I-I-I-I a-a-a-a-am s-s-s-s-s-s-s-soooo sorry D-D-D-D-D-Dr-Dr-Drew. But Mr. S-S-S-S-S-Snottsborn s-s-s-s-s-swo-swo-swo-swore me t-t-t-t-to s-s-s-s-s-secrecy.”

Drew held up his hand to Jon as if he did not need another explanation. “I here ya buddy. No worries.” The elevator dinged and opened on the 25th floor. “This is my floor though. One of the stinking toilets clogged up again. We don’t get paid enough for this crap… literally! Hopefully Dusty’s talk with Snottsborn worked out.”

Drew exited the elevator and waved at Jon. “Have a good rest of the day Johnny-Boy!”

Jon stuttered a quick “thank you, you too,” but did not finish before the doors closed and carried Jon further upwards to Snottsborn’s office.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

With one finally ding, Jonathan Johnson exited the elevator and immediately entered upon Snottsborn's secretary, Miss Catmint. Miss Catmint looked like she was busy doing some sort of paperwork. When you worked for Mr. Snottsborn there was always something to be done and that is what Jon was happy about. With everything going on in his life at least he could escape from it for awhile and concentrate on his work. Something had bothered him though... Drew had told Jon that Dusty was having a talk with Mr. Snottsborn. Jon didn't even need to think about what Dusty was talking to Snottsborn about.

Ever since this brand new top-secret project came up, Snottsborn had to make budget-cuts, but instead of even cutting things from Snottsborn Industries, Snottsborn only cut down the janitors that worked at Snottsborn Industries's salary. Of course all of the janitors were livid, especially their boss, Dustin Bunnell. But "Dusty" as many fondly called him, was a sweet man and could never fight his battles violently. It was good Dusty was finally taking a stand for himself and talking to Snottsborn, something Jon would never do in his right mind, but today probably wasn't the best day to talk to Snottsborn, especially if one of the most important meetings in Snottsborn's career was going to take place. Jon shook his head a bit in order to get all of the chaos out of his head and walked further into the office.

Jon went up to Miss Catmint and nodded shyly her way. She could be so intimitating, but not the way she acted, it was because of the way she looked. She was beautiful. Every feature on her flawless, at least in Jon's point of view, and her glittering hazel brown hair, which was usually down to her shoulder, was restricted in a loose bun today. She had thick black rimmed glasses on, but as apposed to Jon's bulky, ridiculous looking ones, Catmint's glasses looked flawless on her.

"He is waiting inside Mister Johnson. He is furious." Miss Catmint said without even looking up from her work.

"O-o-o-o-o-o-o-oh! Okay... okay... wh-wh-wh-why..." Jon tried to stutter out a question, but Catmint knew what he was trying to say.

"Why is he mad? Same old, same old. Ol' Dusty Bunnell thought it would be a good day to pick a fight with Ol' Snottsborn. Let me summarize the outcome though... it wasn't. Snottsborn refused Dusty's proposal of giving the janitors at least $1.50 more. Which isn't unreasonable considering they got $30 dollars taken out of all of their paychecks... I never saw Dusty look so mad though when he left Snottsborn's office. What a shame..."

Jon felt terrible for Dusty. He was such a sweet, old guy. But there was no way in hell Jon would bring up his sympathies with Mister Snottsborn. Jon liked his job WAY too much. He tried to get Miss Catmint's attention again by clearing his throat, but it came out as a squeak. Jon turned bright red from embarrassment and said, "We-we-we-we-we-well I-I-I-I-I th-th-th-"

Miss Catmint cut him off again, "It's alright Mr. Johnson. I know what you think. You are a man with a heart. But that has nothing to do with now. If you don't see Snottsborn now, he is gonna fire to both of us! Now go!"

Jon turned bright red once more, wanting nothing more than to please Miss Catmint and he scurried over to the large oaken doors leading to Mr. Snottsborn's penthouse office. Jon knocked three times and turned the handle of the doors, entering into Snottsborn's liar.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Before Jonathan Johnson fully even entered the room, a voice from a large oaken desk in the center of the gorgeous flat where Snottsborn ate, slept, and worked 24 hours a day. Actually, Jon had never seen Snottsborn leave this place. "Well Mr. Johnson... finally decided to join us again I see..."

Jon scurried to Snottsborn, who was in an enormous, comfortable looking chair on an elegant set of wheels, facing away from his desk and facing the beautifully large window view of Delmor. "I-I-I-I-I am-am-am-am so... s-s-s-s-s-so sorry Mr. S-S-S-S-S-S-S-Sn-Sn-Sn-Snottsborn! It... it... it... it is just that I-I-I-I-I..."

"No excuses!" Mr. Snottsborn cut Jon off and dramatically swung around to face Jon. "I am so sick of excuses. I just had that ignorant man, Dustin Bunnell talk to me about giving him and his crew a raise when they do nothing but pick up my garbage... can you believe that? Disgusting! Now I give you one day off and you make it a full week vacation!"

Jon wanted to say something to stick up for Dusty, but he knew that would be a bad move, so Jon stuck to saving his own hide first. "Mr. S-S-S-S-S-Snottsborn... with... with... with... with a-a-a-a-a-all d-d-d-d-due respect.... I-I-I-I-I was o-o-o-o-on-on-on-only g-g-g-g-go-gone f-f-f-f-f-for one d-d-d-d-day..."

"That is besides the point!" Mr. Snottsborn was fuming now. "Johnson you should know better than to leave on a day before a meeting takes place! You should be ashamed!"

"B-b-b-b-b-but... but... but... SIR! You... you... you... n-n-n-n-n-neverrrrr t-t-t-t-told m-m-m-m-me that... that there was going to b-b-b-b-be a me-me-me-meeting t-t-t-today. This is the first t-t-t-t-time I-I-I-I am h-h-h-h-hearing about it... it... it."

"Mr. Johnson!" Snottsborn fired back once more. "Enough excuses or you are fired understand?"

At that point a knock was heard at the door and the door flew open with a bang. Miss Catmint walked in and stood at the doorway. "What do you want?" Mr. Snottsborn barked.

"Someone is here to see you... sir..." Miss Catmint told Snottsborn in the most condescending tone. "With great news too!"

"I cannot be bothered right now Catmint! I am in the middle of a meeting with a traitor to this company! Can you believe that Mr. Johnson left for a day to galavant around town?"

Miss Catmint shook her head and said, "No sir! Oh my! I have never heard of such a horrible deed done by any man! To have a break is just... unspeakable."

Jonathan could hear the sarcasm in Miss Catmint's tone like a police siren wailing down a street. It must not have been that obvious to Snottsborn though for he said, "Exactly! You know what I am talking about Miss Catmint. Now... just let whoever it is out there in after Mr. Johnson and I are done!"

Miss Catmint nodded quickly and then gave a little wink to Jon. Jon could feel his face getting bright red as Miss Catmint exited the room and left Jon and Snottsborn alone again. Mr. Snottsborn cleared his throat and then addressed Jon once more. "I hope to the high heavens that the formula and serum are ready like you promised."

"M-M-M-Mister S-S-S-S-S-Sssssssnottsborn! I-I-I-I-I told you s-s-s-sir... I-I-I-I-I-I didn't think w-w-w-w-w-we'd-d-d-d b-b-b-b-be unveiling th-th-th-th-the project so soon! S-S-S-S-So it is n-n-n-n-not r-r-r-ready... sir...."

"JOHNSON!" Snottsborn screamed at the top of his lungs. "Ready or not my investors will be here in one fricken hour... therefore... YOU WILL HAVE THE SERUM READY BY THEN AND IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG... ANYTHING AT ALL... YOU. ARE. FIRED! FIRED! FIRED!" With that Snottsborn pointed at the door, signaling Jonathan Johnson to leave.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Jonathan Johnson left the office feeling miserable. In just one hour he had to perfect the secret serum or else he would be fired. Jon would be made a fool at the meeting with Snottsborn’s investors. It wasn’t that he doubted the serum would shock the investors and definitely be placed on the market sometime soon, but the serum had been through so many trial errors. If Jon had only been notified sooner, but what could he had done? His brother had died and even though he tried his best to not let it interfere with his work, how could he? It was his brother and Jon couldn’t help feeling that his death was his fault.

Upon arriving outside of Snottsborn’s office flat, Jon was greeted once again by Drew Dubberberry. Jon had never seen Drew upset. Drew always seemed to have on a nice, warm smile. Drew must have been the man waiting for Snottsborn. Drew smiled warmly at Jon and said, “You butter him up for me? I am going to have to break some pretty bad news to him now.”

Jon looked puzzled and looked at Miss Catmint. “I-I-I-I-I-I thought… thought… thought… thought you t-t-t-t-told Mr. S-S-S-S-S-Snotts…Snottsborn that it… it… it… it was good news?”

Miss Catmint smiled a devilish little smile and said, “I certainly did. A little white lie never hurt anybody. Anyway Mr. Snottsborn would not have been bothered if I told him it was bad news….”

Drew took over for Miss Catmint and interjected. “Ole Dusty cannot take it anymore. He is such a nice guy but he can’t put up with this treatment and I don’t blame him. He is giving his two-week notice today.”

Jon jumped in shock. This was entirely unexpected and not good news at all. Dusty was the best janitor Snottsborn Industries had. If Dusty left this company would become a pigsty. Jon felt bad for the old man. After all of these years working here he just was not being treated right. Jon wanted to march right up to Snottsborn right now and demand Dusty get a raise, but Jon knew he’d walk out of Snottsborn’s office flat fired.

Miss Catmint looked at Drew and said, “You may go in there now Mr. Dubberberry. Best of luck kiddo.”

Drew smiled at Catmint and said, “Thank you.”

Jon nodded at Drew and said, “Y-y-y-y-yeah… best… best… best of luck b-b-b-b-buddy!”

Drew put his hand on Jon’s shoulder and said, “Thanks buddy. Now don’t you have a “secret project” to finish?”

Jon’s mind snapped into work mode and without another word he rushed to the elevator, got in, and heading down towards his workstation.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

When Jon got to his floor, the 22nd, he briskly walked to his workstation, almost bumping into three other scientists. No doubt they were also preparing for the investors to come. Jon entered into his office and threw off all of the clutter on his desk. He would need a clean workspace for the next hour. No… less than an hour. He had already wasted 15 minutes of precious time He took out the complex note cards and papers he had taken from home and laid them out neatly on his desk and then he headed out of his office and towards the laboratory where he and Snottsborn kept the secret serum.

Once Jonathan Johnson got to the door, he quickly punched in a set of complicated numbers on a keypad attached to the door and once he successfully punched in the password he was greeted by a robotic voice that said, “Enter.” The doors slid open and revealed a room full of tiny vials containing a liquid blue substance. Jon ran over to the nearest shelf and pulled out a random vial. He then left the room and made sure it was locked and secure before he went back to his office. This was the secret serum they would be using today!

Once he was back in his office he looked at his notes and got to work trying to perfect the serum. He now only had 30 minutes to do this. In short, Jonathan Johnson knew he was dead meat.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

A drop here, a drop there, and a little bit of a drop right here…

Jonathan Johnson had been working like a dog for what only seemed like ten minutes when all of a sudden Jon’s office door opened to reveal Mr. Snottsborn, looking elegant in a dashing black and white dress suit. He looked a little peeved, no doubt from the talk he had just had with Drew Dubberberry. Jon knew it was time for the investor’s meeting, but Jon hadn’t even tested the serum yet. Snottsborn walked over to Jon, who was sitting at his desk, and Snottsborn bent down low to check out Johnson’s work.

“Well Mr. Johnson… it is time. The investors just entered the building. Get all of the materials ready and I will see you in the lab in five minutes. NO LATER!” Mr. Snottsborn ordered and then headed back towards the door.

Jon knew this was not a good idea whatsoever. He tried to get up any ounce of courage he had in his body and then Jon turned to Snottsborn and spoke. “M-M-M-M-M-Mr. S-S-S-S-S-S-Snottsborn. I-I-I-I-I-I really h-h-h-h-h-ha-ha-ha-have to put m-m-m-m-m-my f-f-f-f-foot down o-o-o-o-o-on this… this ONE! This serum ha-ha-ha-has ye-ye-ye-yet to b-b-b-b-be t-t-t-tested and I-I-I…”

Mr. Snottsborn turned and marched straight by to Jonathan Johnson with purpose. Snottsborn leaned in very close to Jon’s face and in a deep, sharp tone, he said his next sentence with every word hitting like a sharp knife. “Mr. Johnson, if you mess this meeting up, you will never see the light of day again.”

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Jonathan Johnson was always threatened by Mr. Snottsborn, but never given Jon what was close to a death threat. The scary part was that there was something in Snottsborn’s eye that made the threat more real than ever before; something desperate. When Jonathan Johnson finally got down to the lab, he peeked into the expansive room and saw five men and two women sitting in chairs. All of them were chatting intensively. These were no doubt the inventors. Jon felt beads of sweat starting to fall down his forehead. He was going to crash and burn… hard. He didn’t want to just march right in there. He knew that he would make a fool of himself in some way, shape, or form. So Jon stood there with all of the materials in his hands and waited for Mr. Snottsborn to get there.

In just two minutes, Jon caught sight of Mr. Snottsborn and he looked furious. “Why the hell aren’t you in there setting up Johnson?” Snottsborn snapped furiously.

“I-I-I-I-I wa-wa-wa-was wa-wa-wa-wa-waiting f-f-f-f-for y-y-y-you… you sir!” Jon said, slightly bowing, and as he bowed a couple of note cards and papers falling to the ground.

“Be careful!” Snottsborn exclaimed, snatching the vial of blue serum away from Jon. “You’re holding the serum you idiot! Now get in there!”

Jon did what he was told and scurried into the lab with everything except the vial of serum, which Snottsborn had snatched away. He rushed in so fast that he slipped and fell the moment he entered into the lab, causing the investors to jump from surprise. Snottsborn entered right after Jon had fallen and gave Jon the most horrible look, but then Snottsborn laughed and said, “Forgive my assistant. He gets rather clumsy when in a room with powerful people such as yourselves.”

The investors all chuckled, but Jon didn’t like the way Snottsborn had just used the word assistant. After all, Jon did have a lot of power in this company too. He was practically one of the chairs of his department… practically. As Jon set up the lab space he realized maybe he was just a measly assistant.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

“Ladies and gentlemen. What you are about to see will be nothing short of legendary!” Mr. Snottsborn said in a loud clear voice once everything was prepared to go. “But enough talk! I’d like to intoduce my assistant Jonathan Johnson!”

Jonathan Johnson shuffled towards the investors, all of who looked at him with deadpan expressions. They were cut throat; that is something Jon remembered Snottsborn talking about. The investors only cared about what would make them money. Jon cleared his throat, which sounded more like a dying parrot and he started to speak, “I-I-I-I a-a-a-a-am v-v-v-v-very p-p-p-p-p-pr-pr-pr-pr-pro-pro-proud t-t-t-to sh-sh-sh-sh-show y-y-y-you a-a-a-all s-s-s-s-something… something… thathasneverbeforebeenbeenbeenbeenbeen…”

“Okay!” Mr. Snottsborn stepped in front of Jon and cut him off instantly. Jon was literally soaked from the back to the front with sweat. These investors were causing him so much anxiety. “What my assistant has been trying to say for what seems like hours is that Snottsborn Industries is here to present something that has never been seen before! This has been a top-secret project that only, me and my assistant Jon have known about and now, soon the entire world shall know! I present to you… the Snottsborn Super Cleaning Serum!” As Snottsborn said this he rose up the tiny bottle of blue serum.

The investors shuffled in their seats. Some of them took out pens and jotted quick notes to themselves. Jon stood there shuffling his feet. What was he supposed to do now? This was his speech he was supposed to give. Snottsborn had promised him that way back when in the beginning of working on this project. Snottsborn popped open the bottle of serum. He continued on with his speech. “Just what is Snottsborn’s Super Cleaning Serum you ask? Well I shall show you!”

Snottsborn suddenly and without warning took all the notes out of Jon’s hand and threw them to the ground. He then kicked a small table at the center of the room down on the ground. He then placed the bottle onto the ground and waited. This was the moment of truth. If the serum worked correctly it would be perfection, if not, all hell would break lose. For a few seconds nothing happened and Jon started getting antsy, but then, all of a sudden the blue liquid snaked its way out of the bottle and suddenly zipped across the room. Jon couldn’t believe his eyes. The serum flew like lightening across the floor of the lab. Jon looked at the investors and even some of them seemed to be in awe.

After only a couple of seconds the serum then darted right back into its bottle. Snottsborn picked the bottle up and his free hand swept across the floor. “As you can see… this serum cleans up virtually anything in its path.” And Snottsborn was right. Jon saw that the papers Snottsborn had threw on the ground were now stacked neatly on top of the table that had been overturned. The floors even looked like they had been polished. The Investors, slowly, one by one, started clapping. Snottsborn gave a nice bow and then looked at Jon. In a whisper Snottsborn said, “Get out of here. I will finish this up. Make yourself bloody useful for once and bring the serum back to its chamber… now!”

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Sure... Jonathan Johnson hadn't really been apart of much of the trial, but the serum had worked out flawlessly. He was amazed that the slightest change in the formula had fixed the problem. Jon had thought for sure today was going to be his last day at Snottsborn Industries. Everything was starting to look up now. Jon took in a deep breath as he inserted the vial of the serum back into its rightful place. He hoped for once that Snottsborn would thank Jon for the trouble he had went through all day. Was it stupid to wish that? Jon went to the sink nearby the selves and started washing his hands when he heard the door to the serum room slam open. Jon jumped up in fright and wheel around, the faucet still going and his hands spraying the intruder. The intruder was none other than Mr. Snottsborn and he looked beyond furious. Snottsborn went over to the selves full of serum and started angrily grouping them in his hands one by one.

"I can't even believe the nerve of them!" Snottsborn started. "You know what they said to me Johnson? You want to know what they said?"

Jon started to ask, “Wh-Wh-What…”

“I will let you know what they said Mr. Johnson! The scumbags told me that they already had a meeting with Larry Listerine last week and he showed them the same exact serum! WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN! They told me that this had been Listerine’s idea since he opened up his industry and I told them that I had this idea before Listerine Labs was even built and they could ask you about it as well but they refused to listen. The investors pulled the plug on the serum! ALL MY MONEY AND TIME WASTED!”

This came as a shock to Jon. Why wouldn’t the investors have said something to Snottsborn before the trial had finished? Maybe it was so that Snottsborn’s ego wouldn’t have been tarnished but now Snottsborn Industries was going to hit an all time low! Jon and Snottsborn really had spent so much time and money on this project. Jon’s entire world seemed to be falling apart. As for Mr. Snottsborn, he was just standing in the middle of the room, shaking. Snottsborn then looked up at Jon and screamed. “IT WAS YOU! How could you do this to the company!?!?! Listerine had to have gotten the idea from someone and the only two people who knew about this was me and you! YOU HAVE BETRAYED MY COMPANY!”

Jon looked at Snottsborn with surprise and fear. No he did not! Nothing Snottsborn was saying was true. Jon had never ever betrayed Snottsborn Industries. This was all Jon had. Everything else in his life had taken the back seat. Jon needed to stick up for himself for once. “Mr. S-S-S-S-Snottsborn I-I-I-I h-h-h-ha-ha-had n-n-n-n-nothing t-t-t-t-to d-d-d-do with any o-o-o-o-of th-th-th-this! You… you… you… you know I-I-I-I have b-b-b-been w-w-w-with this company th-th-th-through thick a-a-a-a-and thin….”

Snottsborn cut Jon off as he always did, but this time, Snottsborn rammed Jon against the wall and got up close to his face. "Do not belittle my intelligence Johnson. You brought my company to its knees and I hope you are happy. Johnson... you... are... FIRED!"

Jon was in shock. This couldn't be happening. He hadn't done anything wrong. As Snottsborn let go and started waking away, the reality hit Jon like a ton of bricks; Snottsborn was serious about firing Jon. Jon was finished. He rose his hand to Snottsborn and screamed as best he could in a pleading way. "P-P-P-Please Mr. S-S-S-S-Snottsborn... I-I-I-I d-d-d-didn't d-d-d-d-do anything wr-wr-wr-wrong! I ha-ha-ha-have worked so hard on t-t-t-t-this! P-P-P-Please!" Now tears were forming in Jon's eyes. He was desparate. Snottsborn Industries was the only place Jon felt right of being apart of.

Snottsborn looked like he was examining Jon for a minute and then he shook his head. "YOU WORKED HARD ON NOTHING! YOU AND I ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE ABLE TO GET INTO THIS ROOM! YOU FAILED ME!" As Snottsborn yelled this, he slammed into the shelf full of the serum and the entire shelf came tumbling down. Serum smashed everything. All of Jon's time had been waste. "There..." Snottsborn continued. "You're last job for me is to clean this all up. If you do not do this... don't expect your check this week."

Snottsborn left the room, with serum and wood all over it, with Jon sobbing in the middle of it.

JONATHAN JOHNSON

Minutes past and Jonathan Johnson could not seem to get up and start cleaning up the mess Mr. Snottsborn had made. Jon knew that once he cleaned this room, his employment here was over. How was everything coming apart now? Jon had been working on this serum for months. He had done nothing but worked here for months and now Snottsborn was firing him. Tears continued streamed down his face as Jon finally found the strength to get up. Why couldn't he find the courage to tell Snottsborn off? Why couldn't he do something to save his a** so he didn't get fired? It was because Jon did not have the guts. He didn't like making people upset with him and now that was Jon's downfall.

Slowly, Jon went into a closet and grabbed a mop and walked back to the mess that was pooling everywhere. All of the serum that had gotten out of the vials was pooling together. How was he to clean this up? He examined the huge mass of serum and looked around for something to put it in. After finding a big jar he bent down on his knees and started scooping the serum up. But, the problem was that the serum did not want to go into the jar. Jon tried to deposit the serum into the jar, but it wouldn't get off of his hands. In a panic Jon waved his hand violently up and down, yet the serum still would not get off of his hands. He jumped up and started running for the sink, but before he could even get to the sink, a sharp burning sensation started on his arms and gradually went through his entire body. Jon fell to the ground and started to uncontrollably spasm. Meanwhile, the serum seemed to now be wrapping around his whole body. It seemed to be... attacking him.

What was this? This had never happened before. Why was the serum doing this to him? It seemed to be mauling him and Jon did not think he could take any more of it. "HELP!" Jon screamed. "H-H-H-H-HE-HE-HELP!" The serum continued mauling Jon until his vision became blurred and his whole body went numb.

Suddenly, Jon saw the door to the serum room burst open and the figure of Drew Dubberberry came into view. Jon saw Drew's face go white with fear. Drew ran to Jon and took up the discarded mop. He seemed to be beating the serum, which was still on Jon, but Jon could not feel anything. Everything was lost... his brother, his job, and now his life....

Dustin Bunnell waited patiently in the basement level of Snottsborn Industries. This was where all of the janitorial staff hung out in their downtime. He had successfully snuck into Snottsborn Industries using his newly aquired powers. Even with only a few hours with them, Dustin was becoming quite accustomed to them. He had turned into a dust cloud and slid through the doors of Snottsborn Industries and slunk down into the basement. He was now hiding in a corner. If any of his fellow janitors looked at Dustin now, he would appear as a small pile of dust. So far Dustin had overheard the other janitors saying that Drew was discussing hiring some scientist named Jonathan Johnson back; something along the lines of this Johnson being accused of being a spy. Dustin could barely contain himself. He was so happy at the thought that someone had ruined apart of Snottsborn’s life even if it was a small piece of it.

There was also talk of Drew becoming the head janitor for Snottsborn Industries now. This was something new to Dustin. Would Dubberberry take the job? Maybe it would be a little bit harder to convince Drew of this assassination plot than previously thought. But if Drew had trusted Dustin for so long, there would be no reason for Drew to deny Dustin… at least Dustin hoped… for Drew’s sake.

DUSTIN BUNNELL

Moments later, footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. Drew appeared, looking a bit worn down. The other three janitors in the room stared at him and then Drew said in a small voice, “Snottsborn says for everyone to get back to work. Apparently there is a lot to do. If he doesn’t see all of you working in five minutes he’ll fire you all. It’s not an idle threat. He has Miss Lemon watching from her monitors. There’s only so much Lemon say before Snottsborn looks at the monitors himself.”

The three janitors broke from the card game they were playing and quickly climbed the stairs. Dustin watched as Drew slumped down in a chair and banged his fists on the table. It looked as if whatever Snottsborn had said to Drew had upset him. It was Dustin’s time to appear. Slowly, the pile of dust that was Dustin rose and hardened into his regular human form. He walked out of the shadows and said in a low voice, “Hello Drew.”

Drew jumped from surprise and then realizing it was Dustin, Drew’s eyes seemed to widen with fear. “Dusty!” he said. “You shouldn’t be here! You’re all over the news! Is it true what you did? Did you really kill all of those doctors? Dusty that isn’t you… why…”

Dustin threw his hand up in the air for silence and seemed to glide across the floor, manipulating his feet to turn into dust so he got to Drew faster. He got up close to Drew’s face and said, “You must believe me Drew. I did not mean to kill any innocent people. It wasn’t me. It was Snottsborn! He turned me into this. He has been ruining our lives. This needs to end. One last thing and then I will turn myself in Drew. I need your help!”

Drew looked scared and Dustin didn’t like this at all. He wasn’t the Drew that Dustin had remembered anymore. What had happened? Drew looked at Dustin and continued. “Dusty… buddy… they are calling you the Dust Bunny. They are making you out to be a manic. I… I don’t know what to do. You need to leave Dusty before anyone finds you…”

“THE DUST BUNNY?” Dustin roared. His patience was being tried and Drew did not seem to be very understanding. “You believe them? Drew you are the closest friend I have! How could you believe them?”

Drew shook his head and said, “I don’t Dusty. I really don’t. But what is all of this you are talking about with Snottsborn? What needs to end?”

Dustin stared coldly at Drew and said, “He needs to end. Snottsborn does nothing but hurt people. He needs to die.”

“DUSTIN!” Drew shook Dustin hard and in that instant Dustin knew that Drew was no longer a friend. Drew continued, “Listen to what you are saying! You are delirious! Snottsborn is just a businessman! Sure he handles things horribly sometimes… but this is a business…”

“What… did… he… offer… you…” Dustin said, his voice on edge.

“Dusty… c’mon… this is crazy…”

“WHAT DID HE OFFER YOU?!?!”

“He didn’t… I am the new head scientist okay? I came to this place hoping to be a scientist but there were no spots so he put me into the janitorial staff. I am taking over Jonathan Johnson’s job but this has nothing to do with…”

Dustin cut Drew off. “So you went to try and get your buddy’s job back but in the end, ended up taking it for yourself. I was wrong about you Drew…”

“That’s not what happened Dusty! C’mon… I can get you help. Just explain what happened with the doctors… explain that you couldn’t control it…”

“Shut up!” Dustin said and in an instant his arms turned into smoky dust and struck Drew across the chest, sending him flying. Drew crashed into the wall on the other side of the room. Dustin walked over to Drew and spit on him. All Drew did was moan. “I was so wrong about you Drew. I thought you’d understand, but in the end you are just like Snottsborn. If you won’t join me then you are an enemy. Do not get in my way Drew… I would hate to kill you too. I am so sorry Snottsborn manipulated you. You were one of the good ones.”

Dustin closed his eyes and within seconds seemed to evaporate into thin air. He needed followers. Killing Snottsborn now would be too easy. He wanted Snottsborn to fear for his life. It didn’t matter what Dustin did now. He was now known as the “Dust Bunny. “ People were after him. The only thing Dustin wanted now was Snottsborn dead and he would be, but Dustin wanted to savor it for as long as he could.
