it occurs to me that alot of backstory is put into the making of this rp, newcomers to the universe that we've created will be lost when things that happened in the past come up. it also would be nice to finally catolog an anthology to this, setting the record straight once and for all.
for the wars i will be going over important battles, and important events. i'll try to be as accurate as possible from my own memory. so orochi, if you find mistakes, please correct me. i wasn't involved with most of the halo wars, so my knowledge may be flawed.
if you haven't noticed it's skewed to darkside's view, mainly because i'm darkside.

the beginning:
the year 4010, one year after the repulsion of hostile alien forces attacking earth. the governments of earth had taken to oppression in the aftermath of worldwide conflict. darkside and his compatriots form ranks to bring peace back to the citizens of earth. though widely supported by earth's space colonies, the citizens of earth have been kept in the dark by their governments. darkside and his compatriots set up their base in the gulf of mexico, ready to strike.

the split: as all of their hard work fell into place, tragedy struck. one of officers and formost benifactors to their cause was killed. the blame was pinned on viper, darkside's friend. a massive falling out occured, and viper and half of their forces left for the space colonies.
darkside, left with his minimal forces and growing dissent, fortified himself. he called upon some of the native tribal shamans to help him fortify from better positions. instead they led him to a cave where an ancient armor lay. they told him that because of all that he'd done for them they would give him this armor, a tool of ancient power. darkside, not knowing what to expect, took the armor and put it on as a sign of gratitude.
he was instantly show all kinds of forbidden knowledge, for the armor was possessed by the spirit of a demon. using his new knowledge, darkside created a shield around his islands using the natural flow of souls through the planet.
viper, not knowing of this new development, threatened darkside with a new cannon that his forces had just designed. darkside warned them not to fire it, but his cries fell on deaf ears. viper fired the cannon, which deflected off the shield and compromised the struture of the earth's crust.
the planet, falling to pieces before their eyes, spurred both forces to act. darkside tried to gather as many people as he could to the safety of his protected islands. viper however, sent down as many rescue ships as possible to shuttle a good majority of earth's inhabitants to the colonies. viper, because of this course of action gained the trust of the majority of the population.
darkside, seeing that his defeat was coming, outfitted his now drifting islands for space travel as quickly as possible. viper, distracted with this flood of people was unaware as darkside left the solar system.

darkside's counter attack: after leaving, darkside learned that the armor had given him the same powers as the demon that rested inside it, including the gift of immortality. he set about to honing his new powers, and soon was an army unto himself.
darkside went to the outlaying human colonies and started to take over planets so as to further his defenses. using his newly aquired territory he reformed his army.
viper during this time was contacted by an angel and recieved armor from god to counteract the awakened armor that darkside had recieved. viper called on is newfound benifactor to restore the planet and it was done. viper then started to fortify himself and the rest of the remaining colonies.
darkside, angered by the fact that viper was preparing to meet him in battle, struck first. he broke through to the newly reformed earth and attacked viper. the battle was intense and darkside's forces fought valiently, but viper countered back with a flanking manuver that left most of darkside's fleet in shambles.
seeing defeat at viper's hands again darkside reteated to his territory.

the fall of darkside: viper, unwilling to be attacked by darkside again, instead opted for a simpler solution. he sent darkside an invitation to a all-or nothing tournament between the opposing force's officers. darkside thinking this as an easy win, took the offer. little did darkside know, but the entire tournament was a trap. darkside didn't know about viper's armor. when viper's officer's pinned darkside viper banished darkside's soul from his body. darkside's soul was sent to the heavenly inquisition, a torture facility in heaven that tortured the most evil of souls.

the halo wars:after the defeat of darkside, the army of heaven expanded out into the cosmos. after a time they came across a hostile race of aliens lead by their counsel of prophets. the prophets, seeing this new empire as a threat, attacked.
the battle of persofilies- the prophets created a rebellion and attacked the troops garrisoned there. after holding for 3 days reinforcements came to the rescue. this was counted as the first battle of the war.
the battle of tritus- by far the bloodiest battle of the war. an overwhealming amount of civilians were stirred up by the prophet's men. in a frenzy the prophet's forces and the enraged civilians attacked the military outpost on tritus. outnumbered heavily viper's forces held for 3 days. reinforcements came at noon on the 4th day of siege only to find scant numbers of utterly demoralized troops defending the outpost. after 6 more days of fighting viper's troops took victory. over 300,000 died during the raid.
the battle of sirion- using the same strategy as with tritus the prophet's men again stirred the people against viper's forces. through survallence viper detected early what was happening. sending skirmishers, he retreated the bulk of his forces. the skirmishers then fell back to the outpost of sirion. using an open castle stategy they lured the attacking masses into the outpost and detinated it. using this as a cover for his real assault he moved his retreated forces into a massive counter assault.

darkside's reawakening: 4 years into the halo wars darkside's body, now controlled by the demon in the armor he had recieved, stumbled into the heavenly inquistion. defeating the angels on duty at the time, the demon fused with darkside's soul. this resulted in darkside gaining more power. hearing of this viper enlisted darkside, unaware he had been driven insane with anger, to help in the war effort.

the purge:the battles happening after darkside's awakening.
the battle of tristar- the first battle that darkside partisipated in after awakening. during the battle he destroyed friend and foe alike, leaving carnage for miles. after this battle viper put darkside only in select battles
the battle of serbing- the first battle that darkside began bringing allies into. this battle was the mark of darkside's return to sanity.
the battle of irona- one of the bloodiest battles of the halo wars. during the heaviest combat, darkside's forces turned on viper's forces and a free-for-all commenced. at one point styx, one of darkside's officers was locked in combat with viper. the battle ended after darkside's forces deserted mid-battle. this was the last battle that darkside participated in during the halo wars.

darkside's departure: after the battle irona, darkside left and started conquering territories away from viper's empire. during this time darkside took control of hell and used it as a base of operations in his campaigns. after darkside left viper defeated the remainder of the prophet's forces in a series of minor battles, their forces devistated by the joint attacks.

the centurian wars: these were the wars that lead to the forming of the centurian empire and the defeat of the traitor shinato of viper's forces.
the war of centrio- using hell as his command post, darkside pushed into the centurian system. his new army created so many casulaties to the enemy forces during three months that the centurians surrended unconditionally. darkside moved to the main planet in the system and claimed it as his new capitol. he proceded to improve the stadard of life and commerce of his new growing empire.
the three day war- after siezing centrio darkside sent his elite bloodriders into the convato system. after setting the force down on the system's main planet he waited and let growing rumors about the fall of centrio push them to surrender unconditionally three days later.
the sack of trivasto- darkside then set his eyes on trivasto, the second largest system in the area. darkside set envoys at first, but was rejected outright. angered he sent three legions (roughly 70,000,000 troops) into trivasto. after multiple space battles he sent in his reconstructed invincible-class warships. after ripping through the system's space forces he landed four assault carriers worth of troops on the main planet's suface. the siege of the planet was aided by the blockade in space. after 6 weeks fighting the now beliegered forces of the trivasto government turned and joined darkside's troops and overthrew their government for darkside.
shinato's anger- the halo wars came to a close rougjly the same time that darkside finished the conquest of trivasto. shinato, one of viper's generals broke ranks and started a new war against darkside. taking position in an outlaying system, he sent waves of troops against darkside. darkside, fresh with new troops, launched a massive counter-attack. after being defeated in battle shinato turned to viper for provisions and reinforcements. viper denied shinato this. shinato in anger launched a failed assault at viper and was quickly defeated. darkside, seeing an opening, swept down on shinato and killed him and the remainder of his forces.
after affect- after shinato's defeat darkside opened up negotiations with viper. viper, seeing the benifits of being allies with darkside, agreed. a kind of friendship developed between the two. darkside went on to take 3 galaxies outside of viper's reach, stumbling into the byspidians and fallen demon territories. after brief conflicts with them he set about making his empire stronger.
