I'm not a Nazi. But my dad asked me if I'd like this knife, and I thought it was cool so I told him yeah. It's pretty cheap, too. I love historical junk so I couldn't pass it up. It says Blood and Honor on the blade in German. I really like it. I'll post pics when I actually get it. http://budk.com/Knives/Hitler-Youth-Knife?

That's like somebody saying "Oh I bought a pretty Van Gogh painting that's my favorite but it's a duplicate." and somebody replying "Then why do you have it if it's not a real Van Gogh?" or if I were to buy a replicated weapon or prop from a horror movie. I don't care if it's real or not, it has the same general meaning behind it. Seriously, I just like it. It's just a knife. If I like something I buy it. I don't care who else buys fakes, neo-nazis or rednecks or whatever the ******** Christ. And beside I don't have any money to dish out for a real one even if I did want a real one. This is a gift from my dad and that means more to me than anything.

This is a gift from my dad and that means more to me than anything. I just find it odd. I don't find Nazi's "cool". I have a Luger from my grandfather but only because it was a piece of history and something from the family. To me, buying a knife that just has a swastika slapped on it is stupid. I also find it offensive. Being German, I don't look upon Nazi's very fondly. The fact that merchandise such as that knife are still being mass produced pisses me off. It would be different if it was actually a part of history and the war, but it's not. I'm sure your father could have bought you something more meaningful than that trash. But whatever, these are just my opinions.

A friend of mine has an actual war-torn faded red Nazi flag that his grandfather brought back from Germany as a sort of souvenir for fighting against the Nazis. I do not condone in any way the actions of that party but I kinda want that flag, just because of the history behind it.

You gotta admit though, the Nazi uniforms, flags, symbols and etc are all really nice looking, even if they're replicated.
Shame those nice things had to be corrupted by them.

I don't find them appealing. The flag thing is interesting, but like I said, anything tied to history is interesting. I have a friend who owns a Jap knife because his grandfather pulled it off a dead soldier.
I find that just as fascinating as the Luger.
The symbols and uniforms may look cool, but you have to be able to understand how damaging all that stuff was. I have relatives who refuse to go back to Germany, or even talk about what was going on before and during the war.
The Nazi's brought such shame to Germany and its people. This is why I wouldn't buy that knife, buy a flag, or uniform.

I have a great great uncle who was captured by the Japanese and beheaded. I have relatives who are still kind of racist against Japanese people because of it, and on the flip-side, I think I was told somebody on my mom's side was training to be a Nazi soldier or something, but nothing else was ever said of it. My mom and dad don't mind me buying this thing, as long as I don't turn into a neo-Nazi, which is pretty impossible on my part since I'm dating a Mexican boy and I'm one of those "love everybody" people and I cried really hard during Sophie's Choice.
