To the one that I serve

Does any one work with these deities?

What did you do to get in contact with them?

How are they different from other similar deities?
I will give my all

I work with them, but not in the sense that the New Agers use the phrase, as I am no fool, nor am I a neo-pagan. I am an Ásatrúar and a Heathen. Different than most heathens, however, I am a Pantheist, and I see individual deities as reflections of nature and human nature, and perhaps Jungian archetypes.

I will give you an example.
Thor is many things, like all the gods of the North. Among these he is strength, courage, common sense, love, and virility.
Odhinn is wisdom, strength, insight, power, honor, courage, sacrifice, and experience.
To know the Gods, you must be the Gods. Read the Havamal. Then read the Poetic Edda. Read the Havamal again. Then read the Prose Edda. Then read the Sagas. Then read the Havamal again. Research, read, study, and research some more.

These are not the gods of pacifists. This is not the path of the meek. These are the gods of warriors. This is the path of the strong. If you would worship them in such a fashion as in Wicca, you do them and their people injustice.
If you would know more, start here. If you would shy away, seek your gods elsewhere.

Ásatrúar and a Heathenism in this day and age still makes you a neo-pagan.

Quote:
These are the gods of warriors.
They were also the gods of farmers, traders and cattlemen.

The Lord of the Wicca is the Lord of Death and holds a hall for those who have fallen- not unlike the Asa and Vana.

I think that to claim worshiping them as an eclectic would be an insult to their people doesn't make sense when you say you treat them like archetypes.

Loona,
I have had limited experience with some of them. It was very brief while I was in my early states of seeking. I was told I was "borrowing trouble" to sum it up. It was good advice, and then it was done and there wasn't anything else to be said.

I haven't honored these deities in a while. I have been focused on the Temple tradition. Though I do still feel a connection there.

I was asking if you noticed any feelings from these Gods that were different from other Gods? Like did their presence feel different?
