Given my reading of these threads, I found out that I'm not alone in the case of being the only veg*n in an omni household. So, if you still live with your parents, they might cook meat around you. Am I the only one who is completely disgusted by the smell and the sight of cooking meat? I mean, when I was around it, I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time. Is that normal? sweatdrop Or am I just whining about nothing? dramallama

I don't get that, but my partner does... the smell of most fish makes me think of cat food and that bothers me a little.

Some people are bothered by it, others are not. Neither one is abnormal.
I'm usually not crazy about the sight and smell of meat. But I have to deal with it sometimes because I am the cook and my partner is omni. I'm trying to at least put leaner meats and some meatless alternatives into his meals, but he's very picky and pushing him too much will only make him go the other way! xp

I know how you feel. Whenever my dad cooks meat I go in my room and burn incense because meat stinks the whole house up.
My boyfriend is an omni, but whenever we move in together, He's cooking any meat he wants to eat.
I've already noted that I'll make all the meals but they will all be vegan, if he wants meat he has to buy and/or* cook it himself no if and's or buts. =P

No, I feel you. Sometime I just want to "get out" when I smell the burning of flesh or see the ugly red color. The visual/stench makes me gag sometimes. I lose my appitete.
Now, I have been able to be among many who have meat on their plate across from me, and be decent about it. And I have had orders mixed up, so I inspect my food first, and get it fixed. But actually smelling it while being cooked, or seeing the photographs just does something to me. It's very sickening to me.
If you push meat in my face, I might puke on you. Someone learned that awhile back...
I just can't "grasp" the fact of why meat is still in everything and everywhere, and "I" am the weird one...

Walking down the meat section at the grocery store makes me nauseous... Ugh, packaged animal parts.

I try to get out of the house when meat is being cooked. I don't exactly have a problem once its done cooking, as far as smells go. The sight of it is better, but I hate it.
Pap, I feel your pain. Everyone's pain, actually.

I hadn't had this problem until a couple of days ago. Maybe it's 'cause all my family eat are frozen meals these days but the other day my mother was making a lamb casserole in the crockpot and it smelt absolutely horrible! It smelt like the time my aunt cooked goat and I had to eat it even though it smelt like poop and decay. *shivers*
Then again she also made a chicken curry which didn't smell good or bad. Maybe lamb just smells especially bad?

Nonono, I understand what you mean. I use to be very squeamish when touching or being around meat. My best friend and roomie can't cook at all, and he's an omni, so I've learned to cook him meat. I somehow manage to turn off my nose because If I smell beef cooking I gag.
