I am now my precious little niece's GodMother. She was dressed in numerous yards of lace and was asleep for the entire ceremony. I got to hold her entire 15 lbs, 'cause she was comfortable in my arms, but she was freaking heavy after a half hour of waiting for another family to finish their baptism.
All in all, if you knew me personally, you would never have ever guessed unless I told you that I was a godmother.
I'm seventeen, I'm agnostic, and I have very little actual interest in raising children.
Oh, I know I'll have some later on in life... maybe another five or ten years from now, but I don't intend on doing as any of the people around here raise kids.
(Spoilt lazy brats.)
Anyways, like I said, I'm probably the weirdest choice possible for her godmother.
Then again, I understand exactly the reason why: most of my older sister's friends weren't baptised, aren't religious, or are believers of another faith; and then there's the factor of having gone to a catholic school where I've probably learnt more and actually examined more biblical facts than any catholic of this generation. I wasn't even catholic in the first place-- I was baptised a Lutheran along with all of my other siblings-- but I'm more informed about the beliefs and practices than most who are.
...Yeah.
I'm the best choice and the worst choice, and I can only hope I don't screw up.
