Correct me if I'm wrong, but if my memory serves me right, in the 5th book Moody said that Molly and Arthur were too young to be in the first Order. But James and Lilly were in it. this is where I'm confused, because according to J.K.'s site Bill is two years older than Charlie, who is three years older than Percy, who is two years older than Fred and George, who are two years older than Ron. And we know Ron is the same age as Harry. So if the Weasley's could have a child 9 years before the Potter's, how come they were to young to be in the order?

I don't think that it ever said that they were too young to be in it, I think they just weren't, maybe because they had small children. Molly's brothers, Gideon and Fabian, were in the order though, so she probably knew about it. I think it was just that they had small children to take care of.

Yes. Think about it. Doing the math indicates that Bill was born while Dumbledore was very recently named headmaster, and Ginny was born two months before Voldemort's defeat. So, Molly was preggers the entire first war.

Since I contend that Molly was actually pregnant with Bill before graduating from Hogwarts, that would mean Arthur was probably just starting out inthe Ministry, had a young career and growing family to focus on. He also likely didn't have the personal connections at that time that would cause the Order to recruit him, notwithstanding his brothers-in-law.

Incidentally, the fact that they were bringing kids into the world during the bleakest, darkest days of the first war, with their beliefs, being on the side they were, makes me love Molly and Arthur so much!!!! They had that blind faith; they trusted on things to work out.

Ok listen, Jo, she's good, but she wrote the books with out a "serious" time line, so there are a lot of things that don't exactally add up...at all...
