You can't play imported games from other regions for their format or a region code or somethin like that. Was the same with previous Playstations, but we found our ways through that ninja

PSP Games are /NOT/ region encoded, but the movies are. You can play import games to your hearts content if you want, but import movies... No. Unless you have a region 2 PSP to play Japanese movies on.

You can buy a game in Philippines and it will work. I've got 3 japanese games (Winning Eleven, Taiko no tatsujin and Talkman)and they work perfectly on my american PSP.

If you have a PSP, then read the manual before posting here. Your questions are of the 'common knowledge' variety, meaning that most everyone with a PSP who has read the manual knows the answers to all of your questions. The questions that you are asking have in fact been answered elsewhere in this forum if you could look past page 2. I recommend that you read these first, and then, if the answer to your question is not to be found, by all means post away and we will help you. This is not meant to be a flame post, or a 'user mod' message. I just want to help you to avoid looking like someone who... isn't quite as well versed in terms of knowing the PSP as people others in this forum (myself excluded, as there are a hoard of people out there who know vastly more about this device than I.)

Well from what I read in a Psp magazine here, which is Scotland, Uk, Europe, was that the editor of the mag had bought a new Psp and went over to America the day later on a holiday. From there he bought a few titles wich DIDNT work on his Psp. He also went on to say about how if you own a Euro version of Gta:Lcs and try to play your friend on multiplayer, who has say, an American version, it WONT work.

I am an american who lives near an american base in kaiserslautern. anyhow, I was gonna ask if I can REALLy play the german games on my american psp? I was too afraid to just go out and waste my money on a game that I'm not sure of will even work...

I really dunno sweatdrop Best bet might be to go to the game shop and ask to try the game first in the shop, like, just to boot it up to see if it works. They might let you, and it's not as if the Psp has cables and stuff to haul around :p

This doesn't quite work for those of us (like me) that own a Japanese PSP with a Japanese manual. The games will work on any PSP from 'round the world, But if you get WipeOut Pure in Europe and your friends get WipeOut Pure from the US, no multiplayer for you. Movies are region encoded, so you should only get movies from the country that your PSP was bought.

I was very reluctant when i was buying the american version of madden 06 right after I got my region 2-coded shiroi (white) PSP from Japan. i was a bit scared that i wasted my money because the back of the game box has a region 1 icon. however, much to my relief, i popped it in and it worked just fine.
I still have yet to find out if American movies will work on my Japanese PSP

I haven't bought any movies outside of the U.S. but on my trip in Hong Kong a few weeks ago(maybe a month). I bought a Talkman, works pretty good...exept....the one thing that bothers me....On the parental control feature, number 1 is the highest/strongest blocking thing, right? I always have my PSP set to that(incase someone steals my PSP, they won't be able to use the web browser/play games). Anyways, If i'm correct Socom is level 8 right? But it's rated M....so shouldn't it be rated lower? The Talkman is rated 1....so when I turn on my PSP and the game is inside, it automaticly plays, i don't have to enter my pass. WTF?!?!??!?! Does any1 know what i'm saying/talking about?
