The Jua'nuru lay claim to the upper-half of the mountain, using the snow as cover for their white coats when they hunt. It can be a dangerous spot for those not used to it, with slippery slopes, plunging cliffs and jagged rocks, not to mention the harsh temperatures.
There is a network of caves with several entrances, which serves as a proper den for the pride.

There a surprisingly large amount of hunting ground with little vegetation, but what manages to survive provides enough food to entice preybeasts suited to the climate.

Kisiri'hiana lay upon the snow dusted rocks, close to one of the den entrances. Sunning herself, the lioness purred to herself, eyes closed, appearing to be asleep for all intents and purposes. Only the twitch of the tip of her tail, and the fact that her head was raised, showed that she was indeed awake.

Thoughts strayed from plans made long ago, shifting to that of her daughter, Zari'radi. Where the child had gone now was beyond her. Kisiri had every hope in the world for Zari, that the snowy white lioness would make a name for herself in the pride and do well by her mother. But Kisiri also knew that Zari had her own plans for life, and none of them involved being mature. Sighing softly, the spotted mwindani opened her eyes, slowly gazing around her as if her daughter would suddenly show up, ready to please her mother finally. Fat chance, but hey, Kisi could dream, right?

Jibwa padded out onto the snow, the light catching in his spotted fur as he exited the caves. He scanned the area, worry etched across his brow. Where could she be?

It wasn't normal for Safi'theluji to wander off, especially without any word, which left her young ward in a state of complete panic. He stepped along the snow towards the other entrances and sighed quietly, altogether acting far too serious for his age.

Jibwa knew all too well that the Maliki had been feeling weak of late; he only hoped she had not wandered too far and found herself in need of his help where he could not reach her. Then again, she could just be getting some water, or hunting, or.. Maybe she was toying with him. He frowned to himself at that, only to look up and spot one of the lionesses sunbathing a short distance away. The juvenile lion narrowed his eyes as stepped towards Kisiri'hiana, his brow furrowed. "Have you seen Safi'theluji?"

Kisiri's ears swiveled in the direction of the youngling, long before her eyes did. Curiosity as to what the youngster wanted, though, brought her full attention towards Jibwa. Shaking her head, the older lioness smiled apologectically at the juvenile. "No, I have not. But I'm sure she's quite fine. Perhaps she just took a walk to clear her thoughts." Gently raising a paw at Jibwa, Kisiri tried to ease the worry that furrowed the handsome young brow. "It's not easy, being the Maliki, especially at her age. A lot of stress surrounds her. Even I, myself, with considerably less stress to deal with, go off on walks alone to clear my thoughts. She'll be back soon, I'm sure."

The silvery lioness paused for a moment before adding, "What brings you this way young one? Have you a need for our dear Maliki, or is there something I can do for you, instead?" Indeed, the lioness knew how close Jibwa was to Safi, and it amused her. But she pretended as if she didn't know, to keep the young lad from feeling embarrassed about it all.

((Dood. I HATH FINALLY REPLIED. XD;;; ))

Jibwa furrowed his brows further and let out an irriated snort, looking more like a pouting mewling than the imposing male look he was going for. "No, I don't need anything. It's just that, in her condition..-" He paused, catching himself. "That is, her position, she shouldn't be wandering off without letting anyone know about it."

He sighed and plopped down to a sit next to the adult lioness, his spotted tail sinking into a pile of snow. "It's so inconsiderate to make everyone worry like this.." He muttered quietly, fully of the notion that he wasn't the only one having a minor mental breakdown.

The elder lioness quirked a brow ever so slightly as the youngster caught himself in his words. She quickly filed the stumble into her mind for later perusal, before gently using a paw to rub the scruffy beginnings of a mane atop of the boy's head. "I'm sure she's perfectly fine. You're welcome to sun here with me while you wait. I'm sure she'll happen past here on her way back. When she does, you'll be in perfect position to see her returning, and can let yourself relax, for once. Such a young heart as yours can't be taxed by so much worry at the time. It's not healthy for you, nor the pride, if such a minor thing as Safi taking a walk to ease her mind worries you more than possible attack from the dark pelted ones down below us. We need strength, you know, and you, my boy, are growing up to be a fine hunter. You'll do well by us, I'm sure."

Such the picture of perfect relaxation and wisdom. Kisiri seemed to always know how to look, and act the part of her position within the pride. Always calm, able to come up with a reason and solution to most problems, or at least a word to ease the worry that befell anyone. Who could ever assume she was anything more than what she was?

The speckled young male scrunched his nose up a bit at the tossling of his 'mane' and looked up at the adult lioness in defeat. "I guess you're right.." He responded with a hint of hesitation, his ears drooping a bit. But that last bit of ego-stroking wasn't lost on him either, and his chest puffed out slightly in acknowledgement.

"I'm almost old enough for my first solo hunt.." He proudly added, before pausing a moment in thought and repeating inaudibly. "..Almost.."

Genuine sparkle shown in her eyes as she watched the young one puff up in pride. "I'm sure that'll come sooner than you think, Jibwa. We're always needing more paws to feed the pride, and you will be most welcome. I assure you, that when your solo hunt comes, I shall keep the lionesses home, so that it's truly solo." Kisiri kept from remarking about how she'd 'helped' her daughter, when it came to Zari's first hunt. Perhaps she'd follow Jibwa when his solo came up, just to make sure he succeeded, as well.

Despite the fact that she plotted behind her Maliki's back, she loved her pride dearly, and the members within it. It was for them that she planned the demise of the two Maliki's of opposing prides. With them gone...her pride would be hers, and would be whole once more....
