I have two siblings, one sister (3 years younger) and one brother (13 years younger xD). My sister and I used to fight CONSTANTLY when we were growing up. Sometimes we'd get along but it was more like we commiserated with each other about how shitty a parent our father was (is) and how much we hate his wife. We didn't start actually getting along and hanging out until my sister got to be about 16. Then again, I was also living in my own place so that probably had a lot to do with it (my sister is one of the messiest people I know and I'm a clean freak). It's nice now, being able to sit and talk to her for hours, she's become one of my closest friends.

My brother and I ALWAYS got along though. Probably because I was thirteen when he was born so he's become less of a brother and more of a nephew-type. It's really awesome because we never fight, we just hang out, have fun, play video games. Stuff like that. I mean, he gets angry with me sometimes but it's always more like a parent type situation, you know? Like, he'll wake up in the middle of the night when I'm visiting and start eating a bowl of ice cream, I tell him, "You can't eat ice cream in the middle of the night! If you're hungry, I'll make you a sandwich!" Hahaha, not actual fights, just stuff like that. He's awesome and we talk on the phone a lot (I don't live in the same town as him).

I always wanted a big family that was really close. It's pretty much just me, my sister, my brother, and my mom. Yeah, I have a "dad" but for one, he's not my biological father, and for two, he hasn't been an actual parent to me since I was seven. The only reason why I still keep in touch with him and his family is because it's easier to call on Christmas and his birthday than it is to say, "******** you, I hate you, don't ever speak to me again." Plus, it's easier for my sister because since she lives in the same town as him and regularily sees him, she gets the worst of it.

My boyfriend has a big family and they all live in the same town! It's so awesome, his grandparents live only a few blocks away from his parents house and growing up, they were always doing stuff with them. Like gardening, baking, bird-watching... I think that's just so awesome. On Christmas, they have to put three tables together to fit all of them! Haha, and it's usually a potlach because since there's so many of them, there's no possible way that one person could cook enough food. So I guess I kind of do have a large family now since they've pretty much accepted me as being part of their family. Anytime I see his grandma, we always talk about awesome recipes we like or the neat things we've been baking. His dad is hilarious too, he's always fake-grumbling and bugging people about things. Like he'll bug me about steeping my tea overnight or how I like flat pop. Hahahaha. My boyfriend's brother is my best friend too, that's actually how I met my boyfriend since I was friends with his brother first and we'd spend every single day together and pretty much every single night too.

Hahaha, wow, this was WAY longer than I thought it would end up being. I can't help it! Anytime someone asks about my family, I just go on and on because they're the most important people in my life and we're extremely close.

I could really go on and on about mine too.

The first time i was home alone was when i was 15.

I never had time to myself growing up, and i loved it. xD My twin and i were never apart for more then a few hours. Shared a room, spent all our time together. My oldest brother always looked out for us and baby sat us, my sister hung out with us, and my other older brother always did to.

We are all extremely close, and we all live in the same town as well. So i still see them all constantly.

And then my parents are the most wonderful inspirational people i know. Both business owners, both geniuses. (literally, my mom has a 147 IQ and my dad has 154. Those are both in the top 1% and are considered Genius level IQ's) My dad is a writer, (three novels and 2,000 poems. All unpublished for now.) an artist a musician and a carpenter.

My mom owns a coffee house is a photographer, and an interior designer.

I've been complimented on my never saying a thing bad about my parents. XD


But i'm sorry you don't get along with the dad. But at least your close with you siblings. 4laugh
