Goldenrod City  DESCRIPTION -Goldenrod City is the largest city in all of Johto, rivaling Kanto's Saffron City in terms of size. It is also the most modern city of the relatively rustic Johto region, equipped with a Magnet Train Station as well as a Radio Tower and a Global Terminal. Not only this, but it features a Pokemon Gym, a Department Store, a Bike Shop, and a small establishment specializing in medicinal herbs. The moral is, if you want something in Johto, it's probably in Goldenrod. LOCATION -Goldenrod is located in central Johto. PEOPLE - There are a lot of people in Goldenrod, to say the least, but you're as unlikely to meet a bad person here as you are anywhere in Johto. People do tend to be slightly materialistic and flighty here, traits no doubt born of having a large department store and a train station in the same city. RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST - Poke Center: - As you would expect for such a large city, Goldenrod hosts a Poke Center two blocks away from the Pokemon Gym. Pokemon Gym: - Goldenrod Citycontains the third Gym on the Pokemon League journey. While the leader used to be Whitney, who specialized in Normal-types, it is currently led by Jackson Vakarian, a Water-type trainer - if you choose to fight his full strength team, good luck. You'll need it. Radio Tower: If you ever wanted to meet any of the voices you hear on your PokeGear, here's the place to do it. Hosting not only DJ Mary and Prof. Oak's talk show, but countless other pieces of programming, the tower is five-stories tall - and needs every bit of space to keep the broadcasts going. Department Store: Just as expansive and expensive as Celadon's department store, the Goldenrod Store has five levels and a rooftop square of sorts. Dealing in TMs, Medicine, Battle Items, Beverages and your usual Trainer fare, if you need to stock up, here's the place to do it. Bike Shop: The only Bike Shop in all of Johto - and business is booming, thank you very much! Thanks to the efforts of unnamed trainers, Bikes are all the rage now; better get one now while the going's hot! Game Corner: If Pokemon battles or contests aren't your thing, why not try your hand at a game of Voltorb Flip or perhaps some Slot Machines? Yes, they're back again, after a horde of angry teens stopped going to school in protest! There's a small exchange desk, where you can trade coins you win for prizes such as rare Pokemon, TMs, exotic items and more! Magnet Train: Need to get somewhere in a hurry? Have no fear, the Magnet Train will have you there quicker than you can say motion sickness! Saffron City and Goldenrod City are linked by this railway - and it follows no fixed schedule, going when you need it to! Isn't that brilliant? Goldenrod Tunnel: Here, you can find a pair of salon brothers, who will either cut your hair or groom your Pokemon - or both! But only for a price. Though, if flashy do's aren't your style, there's also a small medicinal herb shop nearby. Flower Shop: They say a rose by any other name is just as sweet - and they mean it! If you need to impress someone, or just make their day better, stop by and pick up a bouquet from this wonderful little establishment. Global Terminal: A large-scale terminal that allows trainers to trade from all over the world! Isn't technology fantastic? Daycare Center: - While not located in the City itself, Johto's Daycare Center lies just south of Goldenrod, meaning you can rest your feet quite comfortably in Goldenrod while your Pokemon enjoy themselves at the Daycare. Pokeathlon Dome: - Lacking defined Contest Halls, Johto makes up for them with the Pokeathlon Dome, where you can enter your Pokemon in one of five categories, each suited to a physical attribute. Want to give your Pokemon a medal to be proud of? Enter them here! The Dome lies a few hundred metres north of Goldenrod. MYTH/LORE - The only beliefs here are rooted in consumerism and gambling.

  HERZ ITRANIA ~Team Rocket never hurt anyone, so long as they didn't interfere...~After 'bailing out' his little grunts who had been taken into custody Herz and Dredge were heading towards the Pokemon contest. It should still have been going on after all. He was toying with the fire Pokemon's Pokeball. "Ready to put on a true show?" he asked getting an anxious bark in return. Dredge was clearly ready for the challenge. Entering the arena he noticed people who were not in the contest watching it on screens in the lobby. Pathetic. Contest Pokemon usually weren't good ones. This would be a simple errand of collecting new Pokemon to give to the grunts. He had about three with him now. They were happy to be out of jail. He lead them into the contest hall stands. Looking down the stage he scowled looking at the coordinators. Then his gaze drifted over to the judges. Two gym leaders and, to his surprise, his little sister. Since when was she in Johto? He shook it off and decided to proceed anyway. He waited for a trainer with a skitty to take the stage. Then he sprang. Dredge growled and jumped down onto the stage. It's attack was a simple Flamethrower, aimed at the skitty, and nicely hitting it. Herz calmly followed his Pokemon to the stage, and when an angry Whitney attempted to stop him, he smirked as she released her Miltank, Dredge quickly intervened with a Hyper Beam. Herz laughed as the grunts were letting out their Pokemon. Zubats and Koffings. They were going about rounding up Skitty, as per Herz orders. Herz took the mic from the ex-gym leader. "Now if I may have your attention. If you will be so kind as to turn over all your Pokemon to the nice Team Rocket Grunts we will leave you without harming any of you in the audience. And yes, this is a take over, so please let's be nice about this." He said looking over the faces of the audience, then the judges. He smirked at his sister as Lucia scowled at him, her Glaceon was already on its feet, but Dredge was there ready for it. “He who does not punish evil commands it to be done.” KnightDredgeFern ((Alright then, and yes I am beating Whitney up hope you don't care xD ))

Gabe hurried down the road, throwing his bag over his shoulder as he went. He was on his way to the Goldenrod Gym after just having caught his third pokemon. "I'm going to win this for sure," Gabe muttered to himself as he ran.
Gabe got a little ways down the road before he stopped by a crowd of people making there way into a building. Gabe made his way through the crowd to find out what was going on. He found himself in a lobby with even more people looking up at screens that showed different battles."That's right. The Pokemon Contest in going on right now." He remembered as he watched trainers battle each other. As Gabe watched a man jumped down into the stadium and chaos ensued. Then the announcement was made and Gabe instinctively brought his hand to his waist where his three pokemon were attached to his belt. The thought of willingly giving them up left a bad taste in his mouth. Chico had been with him for four years now and Eevee and Conrad where just as important to him. Gabe turned to try and find the exits but with the amount of people crowded into the room it was nearly impossible. He turned back to stare at the Team Rocket Grunts, which could bee seen on every screen. "If they want my pokemon they'll have to pry them from my cold dead fingers," Gabe growled at the screen.

 Tread lightly, for here there be dragons. "Now if I may have your attention. If you will be so kind as to turn over all your Pokemon to the nice Team Rocket Grunts we will leave you without harming any of you in the audience. And yes, this is a take over, so please let's be nice about this."Like hell I will!! Excited gasps from the crowd shot out as one of the judges leapt up on top of the judging table and pointed dramatically at the Team Rocket leader, his red eyes gazing defiantly towards the man, even as his pokemon torched poor Whitney's Miltank. Whitney herself seemed rather shocked, and possibly even struck as Blackthorn City's Gym Leader jumped down from the table and nabbed his microphone along with it, speaking rather clearly so everyone could hear him. Who the hell do you think I am!? When infuriated trainers talk about the mighty Dragon-Type Gym Leader that defeated them at Blackthorn City, they're talking about me, Ryugi Kazamaru!
If you think for one damn second that you can just waltz in here and start taking everyone's pokemon, you've got another thing coming! And that thing is me! I hereby challenge you to a pokemon battle Mr. Fancy-Pants! If I win, you and your pathetic cronies get the hell out of my sight and return all those pokemon you just stole! And if you win...Ryugi cast a glance around at all the Team Rocket Grunts that were undoubtedly looking to their leader for orders, and then cast a glance at the crowd of trainers and the audience as well. His heart thumped, adrenaline tickling his veins, this was the high he got from battling, and his eyes turned fierce. Well, you see, that just won't happen. Because, one way or another, you're going down.  That's the way I roll. Cheers erupted from the crowd. It was safe to say that Ryugi certainly had them on his side. Screw it if that red-head saw him on the television screen now. He had bigger things to worry about. So then "Mr. Rocket-Man"...
What's it gonna be?

Gabe cheered with the rest of the crowd. "Blackthorn City's gym leader, hey, I've gotta watch this in person." Gabe thought and he ran through the, now, thinned out crowd towards the viewing area. He just had to see this battle. Maybe he would be able to learn a few things while he's at it. "Like the gym leader's attack style for one." Gabe pushed his way to the railing and looked down in awe at the battle that would be starting below him. "This'll be good," he said to no one in particular but plenty of heads nodded around him.

HERZ ITRANIA ~Team Rocket never hurt anyone, so long as they didn't interfere...~ Herz watched as the gym leader jumped from his seat. He watched the leader go on a tangent about battling and returning the Pokemon. Was this guy stupid? Even if he battled and lost he would simply escape with the Pokemon anyway. "Actually I do think I can just walk in here and take some weak little Pokemon." He smirked at the offer of a battle. He hadn't battled a gym leader since he took on the gyms of Kanto. "Oh? A battle? Mr Dragon man, I'll accept your battle. But how about we do this one Pokemon each." he said amicably. He was polite about stealing Pokemon it seemed. He glanced to the newly liberated Grunts and smiled at them. "Watch and learn kiddies, this is going to be plan C." he told them. They seemed to understand. Which they should have. Plan C was code for after this take what you can and run. He looked at the leader again. "If I win I'll be taking the Pokemon of the trainers here, including you." he said pointing. Dredge looked at Herz wondering about if it would battle. "You challenged you can send out your Pokemon first." “He who does not punish evil commands it to be done.” KnightDredgeFern -Random Grunt #33- This grunt was a very bad Grunt he didn't often succeed in taking Pokemon. He sucked really. But he did have some Pokemon. Three Zubats. He was lucky. He entered the lobby with the three bat pokemon following him. Their job was to make sure an exit was ready for when the battle ended. Most people were already gone, except a kid standing there watching. This was #33's chance! "Hey you! Give me your Pokemon! Um please?" he said running over to the boy. The Zubats followed.

 Ryugi could only grin as the Rocket-Man decided to get himself nice and cozy. Make off with the pokemon? What kind of world did he think this was? Already, at least ONE person in the audience would have called the police and they'd be on their way. And if one Gym Leader was going to stand up to the might of the entirety of Team Rocket, well, then why couldn't the other trainers and audience members do the same? Team Rocket or not, they were still vastly, vastly outnumbered. One man and a handful of Koffing a successful raid does not make. You talk pretty big there, but nothing in your arsenal could possibly defeat my pokemon...Ryugi reached to his belt and grabbed a single pokeball, the device growing in size as he gripped it. His red eyes locked onto Herz' and he grinned. I'll show you exactly why so many trainers leave Blackthorn without badges...
Reign over the blackened skies, Eclipse! The pokeball was tossed forward, flying through the air and landing in the battle arena that had just moments ago been reserved for Contest Contestants. With a flurry of activity the bright flash of light from the pokeball pulled away to reveal Ryugi's star pokemon. Eclipse, the black Charizard.  RRROOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!

Gabe turned and looked at the grunt. "Oh, come on. Even if you ask politely did you really think I was going to just give them to you? You've gotta be kidding me," Gabe smirked at the Rocket member. "Zubats. I hate Zubats. They always get in the way when I'm going through a cave," was Gabe's thoughts when he saw the pokemon following the man.

Koffing are fine for the Grunts, but I on the other hand prefer something stronger, more solid." he said reaching into his pocket. His hand emerged soon after holding a new Pokeball. "Dredge you sit this out." he said to the glowering Pokemon. It was no doubt wanting to battle. "A nice Charizard it is, but I think I have a cure for that soot on your Pokemon." he said tossing the Pokeball up above his head. "Now time to shine my Knight."He said as the Pokeball beam went onto the stage as the ball fell back to Herz's hand. The Aagron roared as it solidified from the red light. It's metal armor shone in the lights of the contest hall. "Knight. You will win for me." he said. He knew what the obvious would be. The use of fire moves most likely. "How about we kick this off? Knight, Water Pulse." he said smiling. The large Aagron growled and then released the glowing ball of blue water towards the Charizard. “He who does not punish evil commands it to be done.” KnightDredgeFern -Random Grunt #33- 33 blinked. "Um well I kind of hoped it would help..." he said frowning. He then seemed to grow a spine, or at least half a spine. "Hand over the Pokemon then." he demanded this time. One Zubat moved forward ready to fight. "Or will I have to force you?"

Ryugi chuckled as the Aggron was sent out. It was a powerful pokemon to be sure, heavily defensive, but slow. His eyes flashed as the Rocket ordered the Aggron to use a water move. How typical. Water was indeed super-effective against fire types... But only if it managed to make contact. In this case, the lumbering Aggron would be too slow to catch Eclipse's higher speed. Eclipse, dodge it and use Earthquake! The Charizard let out a roar, and with a flap of its wings was airborne, barrel rolling away, the attack soundly missing, all before the mighty "dragon" pokemon dove towards the ground, slamming down with terrible force and a thunderous roar. The shockwave traveled below the ground, invisible until just the right moment, before the ground under the Aggron split and cracked, jagged spikes of ground shooting up all around, aiming to slam into the opponent's pokemon within a 20 foot radius. Eclipse may have been weak to water, but Knight was even weaker to the thunderous power of Earthquake.

"You wish," Gabe shot at him then reached down and pulled the first pokeball off his waist. It grew in his hand and Gabe threw it yelling, "Chico, it's your time to shine." When the ball had returned to his hand, Gabe knelt and smiled at his old friend. "This should be no problem, right Chico?" Gabe asked, patting his Chikorita on the head. It responded with it's name and Gabe stood back up smiling. "Chico, razor leaf attack! Now!" Gabe yelled and the leaf on Chico's head started to produce a multitude of leaves all aimed at the Zubat.

HERZ ITRANIA ~Team Rocket never hurt anyone, so long as they didn't interfere...~ Herz was simply watching as his Pokemon missed. It was fast. That was going to make a good battle. "Protect, and use water pulse once more." Herz said as Knight formed the green glowing sphere barrier around itself to protect from the Earthquake. And then once the ground had hit the barrier and stopped He launched a second ball of water at the fire dragon. Herz was enjoying himself despite the battle going on. After the attack Knight broke one of the spikes of the ground and was holding it like a javelin. He then proceeded to throw it at the other Pokemon. Herz chuckled. While it wasn't a pokemon move it was entertaining to watch as Knight began breaking a few more of the spikes off and hurling them for the Pokemon. “He who does not punish evil commands it to be done.” KnightDredgeFern -Random Grunt #33- The grunt flailed as the boy said no once more and sent out his Pokemon. The Zubat cried out as the Razor leaf hit. "Ack Zubat! No, use leach life!" he called out pointing at the little pokemon. Zubat caught itself mid fall and recovered in air. The Zubat then proceeded to fly at the Chikorita, trying to bite it and suck its energy out.

Gabe stood for a minute and watched as Chico ran in circles trying to avoid the Zubat. "Chico, use sleep powder!" Gabe commanded and Chico skidded to a stop. Chico turned to face the oncoming Zubat and then sent out a fine dust that shimmered in the air as it made it's way towards it's mark.
