You just have to format it to be that way.
It makes it easier with the tektek tool bar for me. You can find that at tektek.org if you want to download it.

Yep! You just need some BBCode to format your post.
All that code Sherrlock posted should be good enough to start with. There isn't much more than that really.
Now for auto-formating a post after you have made up a nice posting style you will want the tektek tool bar as Sherrlock said, or what I prefer is the Gaiarch tool bar (because it has so much more than the tektek bar).
That'd be... Post Timer, Marketplace Search in the bar, gold tracker, subscribed threads drop down, additional smileys (you can add more), alerts (PM, New Announcement, etc), and Cures every disease known to mankind more. It also covers Fast Reply, Fast Quote, and Fast Edit (in guilds too). I use the Fast Reply over Gaia's new one.

Lol yeah.
The only reason I have the tektek tool bar is because I find myself looking up stuff on that.
I really only use a few things on Gaia.
I don't mind taking the extra step because most of gaia you get gold for xD
I got like 6g for surfing.
xD Coming from an oldbie when it was still go-gaia, that's totally awesome.

I use it mostly for the auto-reply, auto-format, and post timer.
Though I don't mind all those other features at all...
Let's me make code for my own smileys if I want.
