Whirl Islands DESCRIPTION -The Whirl Islands is the name given to a small archipelago located between the mainland of Johto and Cianwood City, on Route 41. Beneath the sea, a maze of dark caves sprawl, with explorers able to travel between the four islands with some amount of difficulty. Named after the dangerous whirlpools that surround them, some parts of the Whirl Islands are mysterious and largely inaccessible. It is said that one of Johto's legendary birds, clad in silver, can be found here . . . LOCATION -The Whirl Islands are located in eastern Johto. PEOPLE - You're very unlikely to meet anyone here - anyone who makes it this far is likely to be a hardened explorer or Pokemon trainer looking to find out exactly what lives here . . . RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST - Northeast Island: - The silver-clad legendary bird is said to make its home here, with many a sailor or swimmer hearing its cries on a dark night. MYTH/LORE - The Whirl Islands used to be one large island. At some point in time, there were two countries fighting over the island. The guardian of the island became enraged and cast lightning bolts to tear the island into four pieces. It then disappeared into the deep end of the waterfall basin, longing for the invisible trust between people and Pokémon to manifest once more. Children in Olivine City are told that bad kids are sent to the islands.

Khan landed on the farthest west of the whirl islands. Touching down, he returned Nataku to his pokeball. "Good job, boy." He said as he pressed the small black button and watched Nataku vanish in a beam of red energy.
Walking towards the opening of the island, Khan released Loki, his Umbreon. The mouth of the cavern beckoned to him, almost as if inviting him inside...to be devoured by whatever lied within.
"Loki." He said to his Umbreon as he walked into the maw. Loki instinctively lit up its blue rings, eliminating the islands deepest and darkest areas. And thus Khan's training began...

It was getting late, so Khan exited the cavern and made camp outside on the short. After setting up the tent, Khan had Nataku start a small fire. Laying down, the Battle Brain rested. He and his team had spent the entire day training. He was exhausted. "Jackson's gotten stronger since I last seen him...and that Elite Four member is very powerful as well...I must train harder." He thought to himself as he watched the flames flicker in the darkness.
Khan relaxed in the sand, closing his eyes slowly as exhaustion overtook him, slowly sending him into a dark void of sleep.

"Make no mistake... "...I will kill you."
LeMarc sped away from the city, never looking back. His speed boat was relatively quick, faster than most commercial hydrofoils and easily faster than anything the police had. As he approached his hideout (which was located deep inside the Whirl Islands, but no one other than him knew that). As he approached the islands he noticed a small fire on the shore of one of the islands.
"Great...visitors." he thought to himself as he hid his speedboat under some foliage in a small cove. Sneaking along the sand quietly, he approached the stranger, to get a better look at what he was dealing with...was he a tourist? Perhaps a cop? Detective? Interpol? LeMarc wasn't sure. He didn't plan on murdering the man, no, he was not a murder, but he had not make sure he wasn't here with the intention of finding him.

"Make no mistake... "...I will kill you."
LeMarc inspected the sleeping trainer, soon recognizing him as the Battle Hall Brain from Jhoto's Battle Frontier. He opted stealing the boy's pokemon, but it seemed too easy. It wasn't challenging so he wrinkled his nose and walked away.
"It's your lucky day, Khan..."LeMarc said in a mocking tone as he left a post-it note with his signature on the trainer's forehead before disappearing into the cavern.

Khan woke up from his nap refreshed. His fire had gone out and he found a small post-it note attached to his forehead. Taking it off he examined it. "A cursive L..." He thought to himself. He frowned. He felt it was significant, since he did notice that someone else had walked along the beach. They had tried to conceal their foot steps but it was difficult seeing that Khan had placed twigs in certain locations that were oriented specially so that he would know if anyone came to disturb him. He would've given these anomalies more thought but then he realized he had forgotten his motorcycle in Goldenrod.
"Damnit. Now I have to head back. Nataku, Goldenrod, go."
Khan got on the back of the dragon and flew towards the city of his birth. Hopefully Jackson was done with his battle...Khan wanted to talk to him.

"Make no mistake... "...I will kill you."
LeMarc scaled the cliff down into his hideout. Legend had it that Lugia once made its home in this cave until a young trainer came and tamed it. Though that was a myth. The cave was probably created from the waterfall that ran through it. Looking around, LeMarc carefully had Glaive cover up the entrance to his hideout with a pile of boulders. It looked very natural. Once inside, he sat down. It was his "bat cave" so to speak. In it was his helicopter, base, home, security center, and several dozen zubats...
Turning on "RT", his super computer, he watched as each screen slowly turned on, revealing the dozens of cameras he had hidden around the Whirl Islands. Strangely enough, the stranger he saw earlier on the shore was no longer there.
"Hmm...wonder where he went..." He pondered as he sat down in front of RT. Looking at the other screens, LeMarc saw nothing more than the local pokemon. A few Seals, Golbats, and every now and then a Dewgong. Nothing of particular interest.
"RT, download this database and see who wants it. It contains trade records of all trainers in the Jhoto region for the past few months."
"Sure thing, LeMarc." the computer replied.
Getting away from the computer, he walked towards a small desk. Turning on the light, he stared at a photograph in a frame.
"On more big heist...then I'll stop...I promise. I'll come home." he muttered as he started to scheme...

"Make no mistake... "...I will kill you."
LeMarc finished up his plans and folded them up before turning off the light. Before he left however, he made sure to set all the silent security alarms and security measures to "On". "Won't want anyone stumbling upon this place." He thought to himself as he walked out of the cave. As he left, all the computers, gizmos, loot, and other whatnot were hidden away as they were concealed by stone. LeMarc had taken great care to make sure that even if someone did find his hideout, they would find nothing suspicious.
Looking around to make sure no one had seen him, LeMarc put the throttle on full and shot off into the distance...where he was going? Only he knew.

Khan touched down on the island before Bill. Khan jumped down from Nataku, landing in the sand, before returning the dragon-type. Releasing Loki, Khan looked around. "Smell anything Loki?" The Umbreon shook its head. He did not sense anything on the shore. It looks like they were heading into the island itself.
"Bill, didn't some legendary pokemon live here long ago?" Khan asked curiously. He said it pretty loudly since he wasn't sure how far above him Bill was, but also the sea winds were buffeting the island. The smell of sea water and seaweed assaulted Khan's olfactory senses.

Bill PokeManiac Extraordinaire! "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" As agreed, Bill set down on the top-left Whirl Island, rubbing his hands together and massaging his wrists - Dougal was fast, but the mode of transport wasn't half uncomfortable! Dougal, seeing that his trainer's hands were on the verge of turning blue, used a low-level Heat Wave to warm him up, and the Pokemaniac thanked his duck friend, before releasing Liara and Jazzy as well. "Sunny Day, Liara - Jazzy, if you see anyone or anything, drop them with Sing. We don't want any sneak attacks." The two pink Pokemon nodded happily, doing as they were asked - given it was night, Liara's move didn't brighten the skies, but they were surrounded by a warm glow of light instead, which made things much easier to see. At Khan's question, Bill turned. "Hmm? Oh - yes; some kind of guardian of the sea, supposedly Lugia, is referred to in many ancient writings as residing in the center of these Islands, but there's conflicting evidence as to whether Lugia always lived here, or if it moved here after the Tin Tower burned a few hundred years ago."

Normally, Khan would be sarcastic and witty, but he recognized that now wasn't the time. "Looks like we're heading in, Bill. Loki, lead the way." Khan commanded. The Umbreon went into the cave first, lighting up the way with his blue rings. While the light it provided wasn't too revealing, it was bright enough allow the two men to make out shadows and passage ways.
"So Bill, what have you been up to? Haven't talked to you in awhile." Khan asked. Now probably wasn't the best time for conversation, but he really didn't care. Going spelunking was rather boring, and it would be a shame to waste an opportunity to catch up with an old friend.

Bill PokeManiac Extraordinaire! "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" Bill went in after Khan and Loki, figuring it was best to have Liara and her light bring up the rear so they had better overall visibility - Dougal and Jazzy, meanwhile, were at Bill's side, ready to defend at any given moment. "Oh, I've been busy, I can tell you. Ever since the Poke Centers started using Windows, I've been called out to fix computer crashes more times than I can count . . . since Windows is cheap, though, they won't switch back, so I'm writing my own operating system to replace it for nothing. I've been trying to come up with a name, but nothing sounds right. What about you? How is the lowly Whitney-trainee finding life as a Battle Hall Brain?"

Khan started laughing at the mention of Whitney. He hadn't seen her in years. She was a bit of an airhead at times, but she meant well. The Windows joke just made him laugh even harder. "Well this lowly-Whitney trainee is a Battle Brain. As for being one, it's interesting. I've seen a few trainers get their 50 wins, but they're nothing special. They all use the same types of pokemon, always choose to fight those who they are super-effective against. I'm not impressed. Though there was one. She beat me. She was good." Khan almost sounded solemn at the mention of Lilian. He wondered how she was doing. Last he heard from her she was in Violet City after the Loyal Badge. He wondered whether or not she got it.
Out of the corner of his eye, Khan saw a shadow art from one rock to another, no hesitating, he immediately said, "Loki, Payback!" The Eeveelution immediately jumped into action slamming the rock, shattering it and slamming the thing behind it. As the Liara's light allowed them better visibility, Khan realized it was nothing more than a Golbat.
"Bad day to be a Golbat. But why not use Linux?" Khan asked, changing the subject.

Bill PokeManiac Extraordinaire! "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" "She must hold a special place in your heart." It didn't take a Pokemaniac to turn a sappy remark into a joke, though Bill had to admit, he was curious about this mysterious challenger - he'd have to meet with her sometime, compares notes on their 'favorite' cynical twenty-something . . . Dougal, meanwhile, had seen the Golbat a little bit before Loki, his wings allowing him a better degree of vision compared to those on the ground, and the duck only shook his head as Loki managed to shatter the rock and slam the unfortunate Golbat in the face with a Payback attack. "Well, I'm using Linux for the next interface, but unlike Windows and Apple, there's no set program to run energy-based isubstantiatory coils that drive an Adams/Fry nano-highway, or even for renaturing de-polarized capsule molecules, so I have to use Linux base code to create my own. It takes a while."

Khan chuckled. Heart? He didn't think he had one anymore. At least not after that six year stint. "She wasn't that special." He said coldly. Loki stopped in his tracks as he heard those words. The Umbreon didn't say anything, for he couldn't, but if he could...well, he would.
Khan continued the trek down into the cavern. Bill had stepped on a nerve, and Khan snapped. For a brief moment, he snapped. He didn't like it. But it was part of him now.
The computer jargon, however, was completely over his head. Khan wasn't a technician. He new his way around pokemon and other finer things, but computers wasn't one of them.
As the two trainers and their pokemon trekked deeper into the caves, several silent alarms were set off. "Bill, isn't there a cave deep down in these islands?" Khan asked. Before Bill could reply Khan felt something was amiss.
"Did you feel that? That rumbling sensation?"
