Materia
This is FFVII, right? Where's the MATERIA?!
Want some? Then read below!


All characters, except for villains, are able to carry with them a max of 5 Materia. Villains are able to carry up to 8 Materia on them.

However, every character in the RP is also able to have a small amount of Storage Room for Materia. Normal characters start out with Storage Room for 4 Materia. The amount of Storage Room, or SR, can be expanded! Each expansion gives you 4 more Materia spaces in your SR. But! At the cost of carrying one less Materia on your person. For example:

5 Materia Equip Slots, 4 SR Slots.
You want to expand your SR Slots.
-1 Materia Equip Slot --> +4 SR Slots
New Total: 4 Materia Equip Slots, 8 SR Slots.

The process repeats. If you have 4 E-Slots and 8 SR Slots, after the expansion you would have 3 E-Slots and 12 SR Slots. Then 2 E-Slots/16 SR Slots, and ultimately: 1 E-Slot/20 SR Slots.

Of course, if you can only carry one Materia at a time, would having all that storage really be useful? Therefore, this is a double edged sword. Feel free to find what works for you! Villains, I’m afraid to say that you cannot expand your SR Slots. Because you have 8 E-Slots, you are also limited to only having 2 SR Slots. Tough luck. <3

For almost ALL the Materia (that have not been designated to someone specific) you will have to go out and make your character PHYSICALLY—as in, in real RP time—go and GET that Materia. A good example being the Summons. No one starts out with one of those automatically except for those set aside, as was already said.

For this reason, you will get your predetermined Materia choice for each character approved through Rufus or myself. (This does not apply to Materia that you go out and get on your own, only the ones you want to give your character from the beginning.) We’ll be using the simple Tier system that divides up each Materia type into Common or easy to get Materia, Uncommon Materia that you must have some standing or experience in order to have, and Rare Materia that clearly requires a valid reason and full-blown explanation for why that Materia should belong to your character.


Allegiance Privileges
Which side are you on?

For those of you who have characters that belong to an organization or other group of individuals, some of you get privileges in Materia choice that others do not have because of your allegiance. So! Instead of going out and hunting down those Materia, or having to explain why you have it, you can just write it off as a privilege. Enjoy your freebies!

The Pre-Made Character Materia List
Because the characters we have in-game do not have profiles like those we create, this small section is to show the Materia of each pre-made character active in the RP.

Note!

Your weapons can have more slots than the max amount of Materia you can equip at one time. (Remember, the standard amount is 5 for normal characters, 8 for villains.) This is because if you ever want to change what Materia you have equipped, you can then use the given amount of slots to make and use different combinations of that Materia.

Ultima — Cloud’s AVALANCHE
- Received by helping stop the runaway train in North Corel. Can be bought for 50,000 Gil even if you reach the train but cannot stop it in time. If you do not reach the train in time, you cannot get this Materia at all.

Tier One Materia
Choco Mog
- Received at the Chocobo Farm by talking to the Chocobos in the pen and answering, “Wark!”
Shiva — Cloud
- Received in Lower Junon, from a little girl named Priscilla.
Ifrit — ShinRa Employees
- Found on a Junon Cargo Ship.
Ramuh
- Received in Gold Saucer while in the Chocobo Racing Waiting Room.
Titan
- Found near the destroyed reactor in Gongaga.

Tier Two Materia
Odin — Old ShinRa, Turks
- Found in the safe inside the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. The code to unlock it is Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97. Then you must defeat the monster Lost Number.
Leviathan — Yuffie
- Received after defeating Yuffie’s father Godo at the top of the Pagoda in Wutai.
Bahamut — Cloud
- Found in the Temple of the Ancients after defeating the Red Dragon.
Kjata — Cloud's AVALANCHE
- Found floating around inside the Sleeping Forest.
Alexander
- Received in the Great Glacier. First you must touch the water of the hot springs, then go to the Snow Field area. Then head east until another area is reached, then head east again until you reach a cave. Inside the cave you speak to a woman, whom you then battle. The woman—a Snow—gives you the Materia afterwards.
Phoenix
- Received from baby Phoenix at Fort Condor after completing the Fort Condor Huge Materia side quest.

Tier Three Materia
Neo Bahamut — Cloud
- Found near the first save point in the Whirlwind Maze.
Hades
- Found on the Sunken Gelnika in the Cargo Room, located near one of the small aircrafts. The Sunken Gelnika is found underwater, south-east of the Gold Saucer near the Submarine Dock.
Typhoon
- Found in the Ancient Forest.
Bahamut Zero — Cloud
- Received in Cosmo Canyon after touching the blue Huge Materia in Bugenhagen’s Observatory. Note! Can only be received if you also have Bahamut and Neo Bahamut as well!
Knights of the Round
- Found on Round Island, in the north-east corner of the ocean. Can only be reached by a Gold Chocobo.

- Found in the Northern Crater.
- Prize received from Chocobo Racing in either A or S Class.


Tier Two Materia
MP Turbo
- Found in the Whirlwind Maze.
MP Absorb
- Found in Wutai.
HP Absorb
- Found in Wutai or the Northern Crater.
Elemental
- Found on Mt. Nibel.
Added Effect
- Found in the Cave of the Gi in Cosmo Canyon on a ledge, reached by going into a cave below after entering the first area with lava.
Sneak Attack
- Prize received from Chocobo Racing in either A or S Class.

Tier Three Materia
Final Attack — Cloud
- Received in Gold Saucer’s Battle Square after winning the Battle Arena’s ‘Special Battle.’ Special Battle is only unlocked after having obtained W-Summon, Omnislash, and Cloud’s Ultima Weapon.
Added Cut
- Found at the Great Glacier after going right from the hot springs until you see it lying in the snow in a mountain area.
Steal as Well
- Found in Wutai in the Da-Chao Mountains by using Leviathan Scales to get through the flames.
Quadra Magic
- Found in a cave at the very tip of Mideel, towards the south-east of the island. Can be reached with a Blue, Black or Gold Chocobo.

- Found in Kalm’s Underwater Reactor by morphing a Ghost Ship into a Guide Book, then traded with the Kalm Traveler for the Materia.

- Found in the Materia Cave north from Mt. Corel on an island separated from the mainland. Can be reached by a Black or Gold Chocobo.
