Ownership of the Novos Party guild has fallen into my (Deviant) hands, so starting a new guild is no longer an issue (in case you're wondering, the poll was unanimously for starting a new guild, with a total of 6/6 votes). Changes that have passed committee review will be implemented as soon as possible, however, please be aware that, while I plan on dedicating a large portion of my time to the ideals and principles of Novos, sometimes I have to partake in the less pleasing aspects of real life (i.e. work), so my attendance won't always be consistant.
For this reason, Novos Account has been set as vice captain of this guild, to allow our core members to moderate if and when I'm not here. Please use this responsibly.

Some of you may have noticed that our Guild Captain has been AWOL for quite a while now. This is not generally a problem as we are fairly autonomous, however, we are limited as to what we can do with the structure of our guild.

Soo, I propose we start a new guild (funded by me, so cash isn't a problem).

Changes made with new guild

• Novos Account as vice captain
  
• Sub-forums for divisions
  
• possible re-wording for main guild page
  
• possible changes to graphics
  
• Adding Myslec and Aperium as crew
  
• Migrating of important/wanted info into new structure

obviously this is quite a big decision, which is why I'm putting it to vote. We need at least 3/5 active member approval to pass this proposal and the poll will be running until the end of January so that we get votes from the folks that have gone on holiday.

Also use this thread for suggestions for the new guild, or alternatively if we decide to not create a new guild, suggestions to fix the current guild.

Ah, I like this idea! We do need to completely re-organize the guild, from the layout, to the actual structure of our work. So much of a change, in fact, that a completely new guild is needed.

Before we go off to make a guild, we should probably plan out the way we want to structure it. Obviously we'd need to have things like our Mission Statement, our plan in steps, rules, and a directory to say which subforum what kinds of topics go in. But exactly what subforums will we make? How will we divide it up? Also, will we make the USBB Thread it's own subforum? I would be in favor of something like that, having a subforum where the members can hang out and talk about things unrelated to the mission. Oh yeah, what exactly are our rules? Probably something to look into...

EDIT: Oh yes, one more thing. I think Zorya, fishbait, Myslec, and Aperium should be PMed as well.

I too, agree with all that has been suggested here, and am honored to be nominated for the position of crew.

Okay, so I've been looking around the guild a bit, and I can think of these categories for subforums:

Our Current Novos- for discussions on our guild structure, the status of our members, and anything related to our current status. The "New Members" thread can be put here, as well as the Task thread.

Government and Laws- Since we have not actually decided on a style of government, our exact political standing, or certain laws, this would be a good section to post these in. However, laws for certain types of things should be discussed in the corresponding subforum other than government, and then posted in a sort of "Law Archive" sticky when our stance has been agreed on.

Economy- for discussing the economy, how much government influence we will have on it, that sort of thing. Pretty self-explanatory.

Crime and Punishment- It seems that there are so many types of crimes and so many complicated ways of dealing with them, that it needs a subforum of it's own.

Public Relations Forum- Propaganda, Advertisement, the like. I suppose the Comic could possibly go in here, since it can be used to promote Novos. Either that, or we can put the comic in the USBB Forum

Current Status of Countries: So that we know what we will be dealing with, we need a separate forum with updates on the current happenings of the world, and certain major issues that we need to solve.

Ultra Special Blah Blah Forum: Yup, in loving memory of ChaosZorya (who is in fact, still alive and quite well, but I just wanted to say that anyway), we should have an entire dedicated to members hanging out, chatting (or griping) about random things, and have fun. Anything not directly dealing with Novos affairs shall be placed here.

I guess that doesn't leave much left for the main forum except important announcements and/or other issues that should be addressed to the entire guild.

So... this is my rough idea of what the structure should be like, any questions? Comments? Suggestions? Anything that should be added, or taken out?

Or get a Vice Captain that wasn't AWOL, but I don't think that either of those is very likely at the moment. If it was, we wouldn't be making the new guild.

I don't know her. I fear her retaliation. We need to be ready if this guild suddenly closes. She could do anything once this guild no longer suits her purposes. We must be careful.

At the moment the vote stands at:

in favor = 5
against = 0
neutral = 0

We needed a 3/5 majority to pass, so:

active members = 8

in favor: 5/8 = 25/40

needed: 3/5 = 24/40

25/40 > 24/40

So, I think it passed, unless we get new active members.

Either way we may want to wait until the poll ends before we take action.
