Pokemon Black and Pokemon White versions were recently announced for release in Japan within the year. Aside from the names and the fact that Zorua and Zoroark are Gen 5 Pokemon included in the 13th Pokemon movie "Phantom Champion, Zoroark", nothing is known as of yet.
My own comments on this Gen 5 release is that with such defining names, they have absolutely no reason at all to be totally epic. /sarcasm
Anywho, Speculation time. What do you guys think is new in this Gen and what kind of Pokemon would you like to see? CoroCoro Magazine included an interview with one of the producers a few weeks ago including a comment that stated that this gen would be a turning Point that made Pokemon even more amazing. Thoughts?
~My own:~
A new Type will be added for the first time since Dark and Steel in Gen 2 Original.
Many new Pokemon, obviously.
Evos that were greatly wanted but never came. I.E. Jynx, Dunsparce and Skarmory hopefully.
A Skateboard, finally! It was rumored back in Gen 2 Original to replace the Bicycle. It never happened. I want to see it now.
The return of Evo stone usage. No longer shall we have only 2 dozen Pokemon that use stones in any way.

im with you on the stones thing, but it would also be cool to see some side evs like in slowpoke -> slowbro and then slowking i mean come on shouldn't there be a slowqueen or something like that, also a dark type gym would be a pretty good addition, a male evolution for smuchum, and so on...

The male variant of SMoochum/Jynx is Mime Jr/Mr Mime, even though Mr Mime can be Female, which is creepy.
I agree, though. Prevos and Branched Evos would be awesome too.

I mean, there are unlimited posibilities like that, it's like taking the evee factor to the extreme! like for example, when i was little i had a dream that a metal charizard wanted to eat me... in the game a side evolution like that would be awsome!

Branched evos would be cool. If its not overdone, I'd like to see something branch off from another Pokemon.
Along the Mr.Mime conversation. Machamp can also be female, which thoroughly creeps me out. D: I refuse to catch a female Machop for this reason. I'll keep getting wild encounters so I can catch a male (and name it Tacohead, as per custom. I can't stand Machop/oke/amp in the first place ._.).
What I'd like to see:
-Maybe something newer with the battle system. While the old system works, its going to become really outdated soon, with all the new innovative battle systems coming out with games. While I don't propose a full redo of the battles, perhaps a new twist. Something to keep things interesting. =) Not likely, but I can hope. x3
-Moar dragons that ARE NOT either Ground/Dragon or Flying/Dragon. Seriously. I'd like at least one fully evolved Dragon type besides Kingdra that doesn't have 4x weakness against something. ._. I don't mind weaknesses, but I'd like to see more types of dragons besides these two types. D: And I still vote Fire/Dragon and Ice/Dragon duals. That'd be amazing.
-Some nice starters. I didn't enjoy D/P/P starters. I just chose Turtwig, because it seemed the lesser of three evils. And even then, I think he's still a Grotle, and I've beaten the Elite Four. =/
- And I'd totally want a raptor dino fossil Pokemon, a griffon-like Pokemon, and a kirin-like Pokemon. xD

Indeed. Branched would be great in some cases.
Example: What about a pre-evolution that evolves into Tauros/Miltank based on gender?
Example 2: Bonsly was a little over the top for a prevolution, but what if they linked it to a Weeping Willow branched evo from Sudowoodo that's actually a Grass type? O.O
Ew. Machamp scares me since a friend mentioned it reminding him of a leather daddy in Pokemon form. Mrs. Mime is still creepy. I don't care how many ways you try to explain it, Mister Mime should never have had a female gender. In Gen 1, it was assumed Mr. Mime and Jynx were counterparts, much like Scyther and Pinsir/Electabuzz and Magmar.
Personally, I would love to see a few Prevos as well as certain new evos.
Preference:
-Grass/Dragon FTW! I know it's still 4x weak against Ice but come on, a little fanservice here, GameFreak?
-Flying/Dragon/Steel/Bug Eeveelutions.
-Starters that aren't the same lame Fire/Grass/Water cycle that's gotten so old. Dark/Psychic/Fighting would be an awesome new starter trinity.
-I want some kool new Myth based Pokemon. Greek and Roman myths would be amazing. Oh and I want a few Irish myths too. Gimme a Ghost type inspired by the Banshee. And no, Mismagius doesn't count because it's lame.

To start out, i'm just super exsited. Look at what they did with Johto, I know some people might not agree with me, but I think this second version is better then the classic, there is much more to do!
Besides that, has anyone noticed the names?

Poke'mon White
Did we run out of stones? Granted it was getting abit cliched, but seriously.. What about...
Poke'mon Onix
Poke'mon Topaz? or some other stone that could be white.

I'd love to see more evolutions, mostly for the Single stage pokemon.
I don't like fighting-type poke'mon PERIOD... I just catch and evolve them for the sake of the Poke'dex.
I'd like Flash to become an HM again, or atleast make it easily avaliable. Like for chance if you tire of a sertain poke'mon that just happens to have been taught Flash... Oui...

No more Eveelutions! >`< That little bugger, has gotten on my last nerve... (Personaly I love Glaceon and Leafeon) But it's the same ol' same ol... Eevee isn't that strong to begin with, and you have to evolve it early for it to learn elemental attacks.

- Able to purchase stones! Soooo much nicer... I don't really care if they make them expenisive.
- Stronger Normal-type moves besides Slash...
- Defenatly diffrent type Starters. I kinda like that Dark/Psychic/Fighting parody, that be cool.. I'd so choose the Dark XD
- Though if they stick with the Fire/Water/Grass, then maybe make it like Hoenn. Fire/Fighting (Or something else), Water/Ground.. and maybe an added Element to the Grass-type. Flying?
- Oh, it be nice to see a Hydra based poke'mon! Or, Medusa?
- How about an Electric/Dark or Electric-type Horse-like poke'mon. Then I could name it Ixion, and it be perfect!

I agree, being able to buy stones made it so much easier. Even if they were costly, it'd be worth it. If they actually made a decent Fighting type, I wouldn't mind it. But all the ones I've seen are kinda lame. Gallade is the least lame to me, but I still prefer my male Gardevoir. =P I'm sick of Fire/Fighting starters. It was lame to do that with both Blaziken and Infernape. D: See, I really like the creativity Digimon takes with their designs, although I know its not too kosher to say that in a Poke guild. xD They take a lot of mythology-based creatures, and turn them into designs.  Gawd, if that was a Pokemon, I'd fill an entire party with them. xD

My preferences on the matters at would have to be these:
New dragons- I want a Dark/dragon or an Ice/Dragon. Finally getting a good regular dragon with cool looks, but then the ice type one would be an epic introduction to a special sweeping dragon.
New Starters- I want Dual type starters. Mix up the starters with Electric/Grass, Fire/Psychic, Water/Dark or something.
Stones- Definitely bring back purchase-ability. That would definitely increase my gaming habit use of pokemon like Growlithe and Vulpix.
Myth Based Pokés- I want a Hydra evo of Seviper, a Gorgon pokemon, a Griffin evo chain, Werewolf pokemon, Banshees ftw, Pegasus pokemon too.
New evos- Jynx,; eh, maybe if they can manage not to kill my liking of it. Skarmory; definately. Dunsparce; just fix its epic failing and I'll be happy.
Pre evos- I want ones for Aerodactyl, Absol, sabeleye, Mawhile, and Tropius
Change of Story- Make it to where if you want you can join one of the evil teams or something. Or do something other than the gyms. I'm tired of all the same things over and over again.
Thats about all i want to see in the new games.

Agreement on the stone purchasability. I stopped using Ninetales in my party when I couldn't find a stone to evolve my Vulpix. Given that was the only Stone-evo Pokemon I ever used, I did use it back in Gen 1/2. Since then, yes I've found more I like but why have we forsaken the forefathers of the new stones? They should be heralded as heros for being so little used in the beginning and surviving into Gen 2 as buyable.
OMG, better Fighting types would be great. I love Gallade for it's chivalrous nature and the fact that it actually has good moves and semi-decent looks, but it's still only my least favorite Fighter.
Better Dark types too. I'm loving the aesthetics Zorua/Zoroark but their moves will be the deciding factor for me. And if they don't get overhyped due to starring in a movie.
Dual type starters would be awesome. They should totally make Sceptile a Grass/Dragon dual type in Gen 5. They've changed typing in Gen shifts before. And it can learn a lot of Dragon moves already, if I recall. New dual types would be great though.
I would love that as a Pokemon, Astral! I'd totally have one of those on my team, too.
Mawile need a Pre-evo and a branched Male evo. It's too feminine for there to be Males of it's species. It makes me think of Gardevoir in Gen 3.
Give Rapidash wings and it's a Pegasus. /flee

When I'm bored, I sometimes go through a Digimon wiki and look at random Digimon. With almost 900 Digimon, there's always some I have never seen before.
I found a pirate mermaid yesterday. xD
Male Mawile would be cool. And a Dark/Dragon would be amazing.
And I've been waiting since GSC for them to come up with a Dunsparce evo. xD

Oh wow. I wasn't aware there were that many. Pirate mermaid is awesome, though.
Dark/Dragon would indeed be cool. It should learn mostly Ice attacks rather than Fire to be totally different.
Dunsparce is unloved. It needs a God Tier evo to make people love it again. Except I already lurve it!

Dark/Dragon was my idea! 83 <`< Come to think of it, when you all saw Giratina for the first time did you think it become a Ghost/Dragon? I didn't... I though for sure it be a Dark/Dragon... Maybe..it died long ago, and came back as a Ghost? If thats the case... what did all the other Ghost-types use to be? <`< Gastly ---> Shellder

I have that Digimon on my game: Digimon World: Dusk. X3 It's pretty hard to Evolutionize, since i'm playing on the Dusk side. *Tear*
You know, I think people are going to go all.. FanGirl/Guy over the Zorua/Zoroark poke'mon will get overused because they were stars in the upcoming movie.. Look at what happened to Lucario. Wait.. What would happen if Zorua was one of the starter choices?!

I'd love Zorua as a starter, one It's cute, two it's supposed to be a dark.
As for everything else I do have to agree with most of it.
MORE EEVEE EVOS PLEASE, I mean it can evo into most elements except bug, flying, ghost, steel, ground, fighting, dragon, and rock D:
As for dragons, yes. They also need to fix Garchomp. It's D/P/Pt/HG/SS pokedex all have to do with it flying yet it cannot learn fly, oddly it can learn surf. And yes I did teach it surf.
I'm not big on Jynx/Dunsparce so eh... give them evos they may become popular but I doubt I'll use them

Oh and I was thinking of an evo type system for some legendaries like Manaphy, Phione, Jirachi, etc After following with Platnium's Alternate form designs. I know it's odd...

As for the game names there are many colors and yes even more gem stones that could be used. Oh and even minerals such as iron, steel I mean really
And new type match ups like Steel Ground (instead of rock like Aggron and Steelix) Like the ability to evo Graveler into a Steel Ground type Or like a Grass dark, dark fighting, bug fire, etc.
(And it's Cubic Zirconium)

I know. D: Garchomp is even shown in the anime as flying. Why must they taunt us so? D: I want a flying landshark. I also thought Giratina would be Dark/Dragon. And the first thing I thought was "EPIC!" Then I learned it was Ghost. Which confused me. =/ I've heard the Digimon games are good. =3 Hopefully one of these days I can give them a try.
