How far are we willing to go to get our old Gaia back? Because I have a plan and the specs to pull off the greatest digital coup ever heard of. All who take part would need to understand that there is no insurance policy on accounts and items inside of those accounts... but it would get us back to before we had nerfed glow times, and faulty My Gaia updates. It would take us back to a time BEFORE we found out that WE were the ones posting in our own thread. My Gaia has destroyed a large portion of what we have all come to love. I say it's time we move back to the basics and we help Gaia get there to rebuild.

Yes, I'm talking about 1.2million Gaians logging on at the same time and CRASHING the servers. We can do it. It's really not that hard to do granted you can split port your IE or Mozilla... 1 browser at a time may access a Gaia account... I have 11 computers. That's 7 browsers 11 times... 77 logins from one person. Let's assume everyone does 20 logins. We would need 60,000 people to logon to 20 screennames at the same time.

Crashing the servers with a figure overload would only shut them down. It would cause no physical damage to the servers and we could send an effective message to Gaia HQ that we aren't happy about things.

We bombard the servers with overload shutdowns until they give in to our demands. It's ingenious.

That plan... I LOVE IT! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? This is awesome! The only problem would be setting a time that works...

Master Kamiyama That plan... I LOVE IT! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? This is awesome! The only problem would be setting a time that works... Actually it's been thought up of many times, it's very hard to get going though. To my knowledge I've only seen two of these actually work. So unless you can get enough support, this will not work. Have fun trying.

The issue with doing that is that we could get banned, maybe even arrested, for 'cyber-terrorism'... it's definitely not the most effective way to get a point across, nor is it the most effective.
If you really want to crash the servers then logging in is a really complicated way to run a DoS attack (Denial of Service)... the easiest way would be to write a program that continually ping's Gaia's IP address and use it on a large number of computers... Thats what bot-nets are usually used for, but since those are illegal, we'd just have to distribute it to every member and all run it at the same time...
Still, just for the record, I really don't recommend that sort of protest, as cyber-terrorism would damage our reputation and establish us as a violent group instead of a peaceful one that just advocates change.
