Aaand 6 months later I'm finally finished... Okay, I've been working on this guy on and off for the last six months and for the most part it's been great but oh God I hate making the molds... It takes forever and it's so frustrating. But anyway, Willow is now cast from polyurathane epoxy resin (the same thing commercial BJDs are made from) and strung with a thin elastic. He is 12" (30cm) tall and takes 10mm eyes. His head-cap (which is actually the bottom of his head in this case) and antlers are magnetic.

This is the first completed Willow, and I cast him in white, mainly because I had some white resin left over from a past project and I thought I'd use that first before I went to get more for a caramel brown Willow. This one has silver stripes and golden hooves and antlers, the inspiration for this color scheme is Artemis' hind(deer), Cerynitis. For the production models, I think I'll also be making a caramel brown one with white spots/stripes and possibly a black one with blue spots/stripes.

I'll be producing no more than 25 Willows and I plan to offer them in customized colors (customer requests a color and I mix it). His base price is $300 and I'm currently awaiting topic approval at Den of Angels. I'm really excited to finally have him finished now. The initial sculpting process is a lot of fun, but then when you get to the minute sanding and priming and sanding and priming and molding and fixing and remolding... That part isn't so much fun. So I'm really damn glad to have it out of the way now.

Wow, it's gorgeous! Congratulations. ^ ^
Must have taken a lot of patience.

The initial sculpting part is fun, but the fine-tuning and the mold making is frustrating and irritating...
