new to the guild (yay?) and new to the art of "Market/Exchange Whoring" ^^;

anyway i was wondering how i could like get started...i have started a bit on my own.. wandering around the Exchange Forum looking for topics with good items that some people have over looked. i started with 10k and now i have about 12k so i guess thats good..but i dont know how to like advance my profits. ive gone through all like.. 24 pages of the Exchange Forums and havent found many things that are popular that i could get for a good price.

do you think that i should start to buy things thats are more popular for most of my money? like buy things that are worth around 12k and then sell them back? im just kinda afraid to buy too much and not be able to sell it back >>

any help would be great ^^

This is a realy good question, Seeing as how no one can truly know whether somthing will be worth more than what you bought it for.

It's realy pick and choose. I go for the higher end items, and cheap guilds.

Otherwise you just have to take your chances with what you personally feel good about.

Also, check out my rags to riches tutorial. I cover alot of points there that I don't feel like going through again here.

Good question... everyone needs a good foundation in order to start getting profits.

I'd say get sealed letters first. You can browse through the tutorial pages to get an idea. 3nodding

Chances are he has read through the tutorials-.

I suggest beginning by first downloading a browser like "netscape" or "firefox". From there open up 4 tabs.

The first one put in the Marketplace and keep it there.

The second one put in the exchange.

The third one put in the exchange.

and the fourth one put in your pms.

From there look through two threads at once and search for items that are for sale; if you find a donation item that is inexpensive and that you personally find pretty cool then check the price of that item in the marketplace-. (make sure to put lowest buy on so you can find out how low it actually sells for)-. Always remember to take what you find in the marketplace as lowest buy, and then subtract a couple hundred gold from that... (sometimes it wont sell for lowest buy).

If the item has around 1k or more leeway then buy it, otherwise your risking it... Also you have to use your instincts-. Which is why I tell you to see if you like it, generally if you think a donation item looks bad then so do other people 3nodding

Another tip: never buy letters that are like 2 months old unless you want to save them and re-sell later, because they are impossible to sell!

A good way to do that is to simply find donation items you want on your avatar for a while buy them, put them on, and keep them until they rise in price a bit :] (I wouldnt do this until you get a good amount of start up gold so you can buy and resell).

:: Just try doing that and see if it works out for you, and remember... buying from exchange and selling in marketplace is a great way to begin and then as your exchanging becomes more regular and large you can start selling in exchange and maybe even start up a permenant store! ::
