Tuppi Shimati

Hello and welcome to my guild dedicated to writing and roleplay. Basically, a world constructed by me to explore ideas and give both myself and friendly types a stress free environment to write freely. Though it is heavily Gaia-based, some areas branch out in order to provide a lot of space to interact within.

Ultimately I have the final say over what happens in my guild, but I am far more interested in seeing how things play out rather than controlling every single thing that happens. I trust that I won't have to worry about random people completely ******** things over here, but it's better to state things plainly and get them out of the way. The following are the rules of conduct by which this guild functions.

Rules

1) Follow the TOS/Rules & Guidelines at all times! No exceptions. Explicit and/or graphic posts will not be tolerated. Sex and violence are human nature, but a good writer can imply anything without breaking the TOS even one bit.

2) Please only post in existing topics, and only in the main/RP forums. The exceptions would be the Database and Secret subforums. But yes. Keepin' things clean. cool

3) Please don't kill any of the profiled characters. None of them are available to kill at the moment. Attempts to kill them will be ignored and the characters attempting to kill them will be swiftly removed from the guild. Please do not kill any characters without permission, basically.

4) Please join with your main and/or relevant account(s). Everyone can read, but not everyone needs to post. Don't be afraid to apply, but who is allowed in is completely at my discretion.

5) Reasonable post formatting please. Some formatting is great for the purpose of organization. But honestly I'm more interested in the writing than anything else. So please be reasonable.

6) Conflict is great! Jerkery is not. My characters don't even get along with each other at times. Arguments can bring out the best in a character, after all! But just being a jerk OOC is not welcome here. And no abuse/harassment is allowed in my guild. Period.

7) Please communicate. In a plot and going to be away for a while? Not a problem! Please just let us know what's going on. Same with if you're stuck on where to go next in a plot or any problem with the roleplay in general. I don't mind waiting a while to get a response nor do I mind helping to solve problems. But communication is a must.

"Tuppi Shimati"?

This is from Mesopotamian mythology. "Tuppi Shimati" is an object of power; the "tablets of destiny." Mythology is a constant theme in my writing, and this is quite the fitting name for this guild.

Guidelines and Expectations

The Type
This is an avatar roleplay. So it's preferable that your avatar reflect the character that you'll be playing. However, if this isn't possible it's acceptable to include one image (whether saved avatar, tektek, or otherwise) with your post to reflect your character. I know I don't always feel like changing my avatar to match the situation, so by no means would I require it. But please keep in mind that this is an avatar roleplay first and foremost!

The Theme
The theme of this roleplay is urban fantasy. So all magical types are welcome but the actions take place in modern day. How much this really matters is negligible, as many places are of a mysterious and magical nature to begin with. The main thing to be keeping in mind is that magic freely mingles with technology, so both are welcome.

The World
The world is massive, mysterious, and malleable. While parts of it are rooted within the world of Gaia, others are contained within different places entirely. And so, many areas are easily accessed by characters originating from or currently residing in the world of Gaia. And while many places are open to the public, others require certain requirements to access. Regardless, there are many places to explore and many characters to meet.

The Plot
The plot is what we make of it. I'm much more interested in collaborating than I am in anyone following a boring storyline I've come up with and expect people to follow. I really don't see the appeal of that. razz If you have ideas of how our characters could interact in an interesting fashion, I'd love to hear it. Aside from that, it's all about various situations and the reactions that come from them. Idle talk is nice, but as you might be aware, I generally go for a little more than that in my writing.

The Posts
Post by post is preferred in this roleplay. Obviously, not everyone lives in the same time zone nor operates on the same schedule. This is why I prefer to use post by post action rather than real time. If two people are on at the same time and want to have their characters interact in real time, go for it. But post by post makes it easier to reply, while with realtime if no one else is on you're pretty much out of luck. I like activity, so the latter is something I'd like to avoid.

Post length is at one's own discretion. I hate forced post lengths. It discourages activity and limits creativity. No one should feel forced to write a novel with every post, nor should anyone feel offended to get all of a sentence in reply. It's all a matter of different styles and efficiency. If a longer post is needed, there should be concessions for it. And in the same way, if only a sentence is needed, why be forced to write more? I'm trusting that everyone here is responsible enough of a writer to not need silly limits.

The Characters
Both original and canon characters are welcome. As are doubles, as long as you're open to the idea that your character is not the only of that type. The scenery is full of portals and time irregularities so it's very well possible for pretty much anyone to appear.

No profiles are required, though the Database subforum is open for information to be shared as needed.
