I really can't wait for the new Karate Kid to come out. I've been wondering for years if Jackie Chan would ever do one of those movies. ... And he finally did! Woohoo!

I don't see why we made another one of these ...

Anyway ... even though it is focusing on kung fu ... I don't believe it is that we should focus on ... in the trailer I remember one of Jackie Chan's lines:

"Life will knock us down, but we can choose to get back up. Remember always strong."

Isn't that the message that all martial art promote ... "get back up" ... "never back down" ... "stand firm" ... it is a message that isn't secular to one martial art style ...

Overall I liked the Martial Arts action in it, but the problem is that they did use the name "Karate Kid" for a movie about Kung-fu...It gives people the wrong idea that all martial arts are just another form of Karate...Have you ever noticed that any martial art refered to by a person who knows nothing about martial arts is called "Karate"?

I know why they used the title "Karate Kid" though, it was a marketing "idea",for lack of better terms, so the movie would recieve more publicity...I think that they people who decided upon the title name chose it because of money (Maybe they thought if they named it the "Kung-fu Kid" less people would go and see it...I don't know...)

Overall though, I thought it was pretty good...And I agree it did show some of the main martial arts messages...

They put in a few karate kid Easter eggs .... the movie was fun even though it wasn't quite karate kid.
