Rocket Game Corner! This is the thread where you can ask anyone anything about the Pokemon games, such as; What's the best move-set for your Empoleon? What do you think of HeartGold and SoulSilver? What's the best strategy for beating Clair? How do you do your EV training? Hell, what's your opinion on EV training? All this, and more, can be found here, at the Rocket Game Corner! P.S. Don't press the button behind the poster.

Ugggh...thanks for the reference in the first post... :3
Anywho, here is my situation:
I am on the Eighth badge [ aka Clair <_<; ], and my pokemon are severely underleveled, and not to mention at horrible disadvantages in other ways (see below). I refuse to use any of my Diamond pokemon which I transfered as I am stubborn and that would be too easy. I'll make a list of my combat pokemon ( seeing as I have a bunch of others which are out of the question.):
Rex Jr. / Charmeleon / Level 35 Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Shadow Claw.
Bawl / Electrode / Level 30 Spark, Self-Destruct, Charge Beam, Thunder
Nidoking / Level 27 Thrash, Thunder, Double Kick, Blizzard
Red Tail / Pidgeotto / Level 32 U-Turn, Roost, Fly, Pluck
Tauros x30 (but I'll list the leader's level/moves) / 32 Rage, Horn Attack, Zen Headbutt, Blizzard
Kobra / Arbok / Level 29 Iron Tail, Glare, Swallow/Stockpile combo
Pipe ( he's 1/6 of my friend group mascot team) / Golem / 23 Rock Throw, Magnitude, Self-dectruct, Rollout
Rampage / Shiny Gyrados / 30 Bite, Dragon Rage, Leer, Twister
Claptrap / Croconaw/ 26 Bit, Cut, Ice Fang, Rage
Alakazam / lvl 35 [ who I only remembered existed when writing this <_<; ] Teleport, Snatch, Recover, Psycho Cut.
---------my non usable pokemon: why I no use them--------- PrinceOWales ( 1/6 of friend group mascot team)/Wailord/lvl 50 Water Spout, Dive, Waterfall, Rest
Kingdra / lvl 61 Twister, Dragon Dance, Dragon Pulse, Ice beam
Ignorance / Blissy ( get the pun? :3 )/lvl 100 (o.o) Healing Wish, Egg Bomb, Ice Beam, Rock Climb
------------Clair's [AKA evil woman's] Pokemon-------------
Dragonair x2 [both lvl 38] Gyrados lvl 38 Kingdra lvl 41
Most of their moves can easily take out all my pokemon ( save for Rampage, Bawl, and Leader Tauros) in one hit ( EX. Dragonair's know aqua tail, Kingdra knows hydro pump). Gyrados can be dealt with if I can land Bawl's Thunder in, but it electric attacks arn't super effective on Kingdra, and arn't effective on the Dragonair's. Even if Tauros or Nidoking ( the later holding NeverMeltIce) land Blizzard on the the dragonair's it doesn't do much to phaze them, not to mention it only does normal to Kingdra...
See the Dilemma? Any and all help/advice appreciated! :3

*a boxing glove on a spring hits Snake in the face* OK, well, you'll want that Electrode to take down Gyarados, since Electric attacks are super effective . . . Claptrap can use Ice Fang on the Dragonair's, since it's also super effective against most Dragon types. Rampage's Dragon Rage is the only thing you can use on Kingdra, as the only type of move better than normally effective is Dragon type. I'd also recommend taking along Kobra, and seeing if you can paralyze any of Clair's Pokemon. The leader Tauros could be useful too, given the Blizzard. Finally, take along Pipe to use Self-Destruct in case it all gets a little bit too much. So you'll want to level those guys up to around level 35, maybe a few upwards, and you should be able to blitz them. So - Rampage against Kingdra (Pidgeotto also learns Twister a few levels back, which is a Dragon type move - there's a move re-learner in Blackthorn if you're desperate). Bawl against Gyarados. Seven times out of ten, Thunder will hit - if you keep missing, you probably need to level him up a little more and improve his Speed stat. Tauros and Claptrap (love the DK reference) against the Dragonair. I'd say get the Tauros to land Blizzard, then switch 'em out for Croconaw, since starter's are usually more resilient than relatively common Pokemon like Tauros. The other two are just passengers and fail-safes, really. That help any?

Bawl is awesome because he has never missed a Thunder attack.
The problem with using Claptrap is...well, he has the worst stats a croconaw could ever have, He gets one hitted on just about everything. ._."
Luckily my Charmeleon can actually stand, if at full health, to the Dragonairs' Aqua Tails, and can actually take them out with Fire Blast, if it lands. Only problem is his speed. Plus I'd rather use Bawl's Self-Destruct as it would be much better than carrying a pokemon into a battle where all them have water moves ( Rock/Ground against Water = worse than fire against water).
The farthest I've ever gotten is taking down the gyrados, one dragonair, and then halfway through the second dragonair, assuming they didn't send out Kingdra at any point before (Kingdra = 41 )
EDIT: I forgot to mention a certain member of my team who has become a main part since I remembered his existance:
Sharpshot/Remoraid/lvl 30 (sniper skill) Bubble Beam, Aurora Beam, Bullet Seed, Focus energy

Really? I had a Totodile as a starter, and up until level 57, where I swapped him out for my level 100 Empoleon, he practically never went down in battle. He was always at the front of my team. That Remoraid'll be useful - Aurora Beam's a good move to have when dealing with Dragon types. The only problem you would have would be having time to use that Focus Energy before one of the Dragonair's hit you with an Electric type attack. Maybe you should drag a Gastly or something in there to spam Hypnosis? Or Koffing, and spam SmokeScreen, shoot up their accuracy? I'm not one for using stat changes, mainly because I can't be bothered, but I can appreciate their effect once they've been used on me.

I have poor luck with hypnosis and ghost types...that's why I still use Kobra for his glare though. He's more of my tag team with another pokemon I forgot to mention ( who isn't going to be useful in this fight anyways) when I'm trying to capture a pokemon / wear the legendary beasts down.
Kobra: Paralyzes and whittles health down. I should PROBABLY teach him better moves instead of Iron Tail, and his stockpile/swallow combo.
Scyther: False Swipe to lower more

Fair point. All right, what about poison? Got anything that can get some venom into her Pokemon? A poison/confusion combo would be good.

That would be Kobra, but he's never learned any worthwhile poison moves that WOULD poison them (only poison sting and that sucks.) and I don't have a toxic TM so... -mumble- time to grind...

I have never caught them all. My brother has, though. In Yellow version. *nod nod*
Hm... I got both red and blue, gold and sapphire versions. Didn't see the point in getting the new ones, when all I truly love is the old. Currently I'm trying to fill up my pokedex in sapphire, and have currently played for 200+ hours (although admittedly, most of it was years ago). And I recently beat Gold version again. Meh. School takes a lot out of life.

I might be able to catch 'em all on HG, if Black and White take a while to come out. Up to 230 at the moment, and quite a few of the missing entries are pre-evolutions.

Snake, why don't you go to Ice Path and catch a Swinub or a Jynx? Just train up Swinub until it evolves into Piloswine. I cannot remember what level, but Swinub learns Ice Shard. Ice Shard always goes first. My Piloswine OHK'od Claire's Dragonair's with that move.

A caught a Jynx and a Swinub, but I've never had good luck with either...in related news Nidoking is now level 34, and can hol dhi sown against both dragonairs, thanks to massive EV grinds on gravelers. :3
However Kingdra remains the big problem. Farthest I've gotten it is to borderline red...and then it used it's sitrus berry burning_eyes

Dude, just level up your Croconaw, Charmeleon, Nidoking and Electrode. Get them to level 40, and it'll be a piece of cake.
