I am curious as to what kind of endings people find most fulfilling. Like the tear jerking type, everything tied up in a neat bow, or an ending that leaves you with more questions then answers.
I personally love when the author completely ends whatever their characters were up to but leaves what comes next open to the readers imagination. I recently came across this in Johannes Cabal: the Necromancer by Jonathan L. Howard. At the end Cabal finished with his dealing with the devil and returns to his previous en devours. The author says no more than that and my mind has been imaging what Cabal would get up to to meet his goals.
