The Chimera is a mythical three headed beast depicted with the heads of a snake, goat, and lion. There have been other animal heads depicted on the Chimera, but these are the three most common. They all come together on the base of a lion. Also the Chimera can have wings. It is said in theory that each of the heads possess their own personalities. Snake-wisdom, Goat-Rath, and Lion-Courage. Your job for this contest is to find anything about the Chimera and post on here.

I was interested to see that while most sources state that the Chimera is part maned lion that there were many images of them with either a female lion or a mountain lion.

There also seemed to be dispute as to whether it had the head of all three creatures or just a piece of each (Lion in the front, Goat in the middle, Serpent in the back was the most common ordering).

In most cases, however, it is said that at least one of the heads breathed fire.

In genetics a chimera is produced by taking cells from two different animals or living organisms. (example horse and donkey, horse and zebra, mouse and rat, hamster and mouse) every living animal and person is made up of 4 distinct cells, 2 from each parent. To create a chimera medically you take 2 cells from 2 different creatures and put them together and if a child forms it is successful.
