I noticed there was nothing on staffs. Though staffs are not generally shiny like blades or flashy like nunchuks they are extremely efficent when used well. Staffs allow people to work on their breathing, style, form and both lower and upper body strength!

I recently dropped a hefty penny on a white waxwood staff, to help work my balance during forms. Suffice to say it's an even greater workout than my swordsmanship.

Actually i must respond to the idiot who said they are only good for stickfighting, get a good japanese boe staff or ikiboe, and you'll destroy any swordsman, a good boe staff can actually parry a sword, snap axe users hands and even take down a moronic knight using sword and sheild, presonally pole arms are my weapon of choice is more of a naginata or bardiche stle weapon.

Contextual reading skills please. The "idiot" did not say it was "only good for stickfighting", he was simply stating that it was good for that. I'm certain Baka knows that the staff is a viable weapon for many things. Any martial artist without a healthy respect for the many varieties of staff will not last too long in weapons training. Many a "moronic knight" was also trained in the usage of various polearms, from the humble staff to the more advanced halberds, glaives, guisarmes, bill hooks, bardiches, etc.
I would ask that you please keep your language respectful and do not refer to your fellow martial artists in such a fashion. I recognize your passion for the weapon, but this is not a justification for such an outburst. "Keep your words soft and sweet, for one day you may have to eat them."

sorry, the way i understood it was you were tossing at the martial arts weapon itself, and i did meant it in a way to solidify the weapon and not to offend anyone, the only offensive part was the idiot, and if your using baka in either the japanese or spanish context i do understand both contexts unless you mean it as they guy, i would like to appologise if i offended you and personally i don't care if i eat my own words.

I see the misunderstanding. I was using Baka as a proper noun (capitalization!) to refer to baka_boy. This is why I advocate proper grammar and punctuation in typing, lol.

I don't know a lot about staffs or staff fighting, but using rifle-and-bayonet drills with a staff is pretty fierce. Only thing I've practiced, but it seems like it would be pretty intimidating.

There's a lot of similarity between rudimentary staff forms and using a rifle (probably out of ammo) to defend oneself. Add a bayonet and you've functionally got a short spear as well.

They added us having to know 12 basic staff spins to our blackbelt testing process. I'll have to have them down by next month. *August*

Staffs CAN she just as shiny as blades. And they're more efficient. I got this one from my master, and loved it. It's especially for demonstration (see picture and description in link) and looks really cool in motion-just as blades. Too, bad I left it in my old house out of state when I moved. It was the best
