The ride of course! Probably one of my favorites. As a kid the drops scared the crap out of me but I wanted to see the pirates and skeletons I would just do it. Did you know that when the ride first opened that the plastic skeletons looked too fake...so they got some real ones from the UCLA medical center...spoooky!

I have never been any to the disney rides or attractions. I would like to go to Disney World or Disney Land some day. I have heard of Pirates of the Caribbean (the ride, hehe, I also love the movie that comes along with it) and I heard that a lot of people like it and it would be awesome just to go on it and see what it's like.

I went to Disneyland when I was about 2 or 3, and we actually have a home video of us on the ride. You can't really see anything, though, because it's so dark inside. xd

Update:Rumuors have spread that Disney is going to be closing down Pirates of the Carribean during 2006 to renovate the ride to fit in with all 3 movies (a third movie is expected to be released in 2007, it was filmed the same time as Dead Man's Chest, still in filming process). Wikipedia's Page for the Attraction Says:Wikipedia 2006 Updates In 2006, Walt Disney Imagineering will give both versions at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom major overhauls to coincide with the release of the second movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Both storylines will be completely dismantled and replaced with storylines involving Captain Barbossa (from the first movie) and Davy Jones (from the second and third movies) leading separate searches for Captain Jack Sparrow through the many scenes of the original attractions. The "Hurricane Scene", the "Crews Quarters Scene", the "Captains Quarters Scene" and the "Treasure Scene" at Disneyland will all be unchanged visually except for a few new props used in the movies. The Disneyland ride will receive its official re-opening at the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which will also be held at Disneyland. For more information, go to one of these links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Carribean (Wikipedia Content) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/ (The Third Movie) http://www.disneylies.com/disneyland/neworleans/pirates.shtml (Another website with content on the renovation)

You have reason to doubt everything that Wikipedia says. The information on the site is not checked, and anyone can post anything. It was thought that Disney would also close down Carosuel of Progess, but I have the feeling that they would be met with a mass of Disney-lovers that would boycott them removing the rides. PoTC is a classic ride that has been around the park for years, and it draws a great deal of people to the Magic Kingdom.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a great ride, I love it through and though.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a great ride, I love it through and though. I've read about the ride closer and revamping on Mice Age (I've been using them for Disney theme park news for the last 4 years and they've been around even longer than that) and I trust them. They had a link to an official annoucement on an official Disney website, so it must be true. Plus, the ride is now closed: http://miceage.skyfirehosting.com/al041806pics/al041806c.jpgI can't seem to find the Disney annoucement, but here is a link to the Mice Age article form Nov. detailing what changes are being made to the ride. PoC is scheduled to reopen in July, to coincide with the press event at the theme park for the release of Dead Man's Chest 3nodding

No, it's not going to be completely new. Like it said in a previous post from wikipedia, they're going to be adding and changing a few things around. They're still going to have it in the same location, but it will probably be longer and have a few more drops. 3nodding
At least, that's what's happening to the one at Disneyland. 3nodding

They are redoing the ride putting Jack in. I think Davy Jones. It's supposed to open in June 26. Disneyland.

Even though I adore Jack Sparrow and all the characters from the movies, I really don't want them screwing up an origional ride that has been there and stayed the same for pretty much ever. (Unless you count that whole pit with being "politically correct" and the women chasing the pirates) I know Disney is all for rennovations and things of that sort, but I just have the feeling that they'll make it less special by adding all the extra crap.
EDIT: I friggin loved it!! Jack was so realistic and there was a really cool affect with Davey Jones. Barbossa was a little weak, but all in all, I was impressed.
