First of all, I was raised listenin to it. It grew on me, and now it's about the only music I accept other than rock. It's part of me, and I can't help it. Plus, I like being different from everyone. Country music's sound attracts me for some reason.

Well, I listen to everything (country is my favourite, yes) and I guess it was just that a good song is a good song and country seemed to have lots of those.
I, too, was really raised on country I guess. My dad doesn't listen to music music at all but my mom is really in to country. I remember Billy Ray Cyrus (a really nice man and kicks butt live!) being on all of the time and a variety of other country music as well. I just started going to country concerts with my mom and realized they they are great on CD and live, are very easy to approach and talk to, and are very nice. I guess the awesome music and the great people keep me comin' back to it.

I like the fact that this is the type of music can stay in your head all day w/o annoying the hell outta you. And I can always find a song to fit whatever is going on in my life. You can find songs to pick you up, help you feel better, help you cry, I Love country music heart

I was raised listening to Country Music. My parents hated it, but my grandmother got me listening to Vince Gill and Reba McEntire, and after that, I became hooked on CMT. I remember in fourth grade, we needed a current event each week... my teacher knew of my love for Country, so he left my current event be the results of CMT's top 10 countdown each week. (Yes, it was a top 10 countdown back then, then it went to 12, and now 20.) I used to be SO in love with Ronnie Dunn and John Michael Montgomery, and then my deal went to Bryan White. heart

I didn't mention, my first real love in country music was Tim McGraw. I'm not so big on the dude now - not his latest music - but he's what got me really started into being a fan of my own music. Don't Take The Girl had me from the first time I heard it.

Raised on it, in our house dad listened to country, mom to country or classical. We could listen to other stuff, but only if they couldn't hear it. I learned to appreciate just about any musical style.
Old favs played during country comedy hour on the radio: Anything by Ray Stevens Wasn't That a Party Cow Patty - you'd just have to hear it... lol Whatsa Matter You Just a Swingin

i too was raised on it but thats not why i think i like it. In 90% of all coutry songs theres a hidden meaning or the lyrics are so heart felt and beautiful that it just pulls me to it. thats the main reason i love it

Oh my God, someone else has heard that song!? I heard it once on some obscure radio frequency while driving through South Padre Isle. on the Texas gulf coast, and it had been so long that I forgot it. Then I found it again on a random Xangazon search by sheer coincidence. Rock on!

Personally, it's two things.
1. It's what I was raised on. 2. I can relate a lot to what they're singing about.
