The High Priestess from the Tarot of the New Vision.

This deck is inspired by the RWS, the pictures turned 180 degrees. Our lady is looking out over a calm sea, lit by a crescent moon. Two nuns pray behind her seat and an owl perches on an opened pomegranate in the shadows.
Mystery, Faith, perseverance are all key, the meditative approach to life is evoked. Patience. The moment for action has not arrived but the drawing in of power is a source of tension here. What shall appear on that far, dark horizon?

I valiantly attempted to shuffle my two copies of The Wise Woman's Tarot together.....didn't work so well....

Drew The Universe: Changing Woman, a Native-American inspired design.... I'm not sure where the book is to this deck or even if I purchased the book (it is a small-press deck, bought directly from the author, Flash Silvermoon) but I can simply work with the standard meanings for this card.
Completion and, at the same time, a new beginning. Joy at the transition, no doubts, no reservations. Over this hill is another hill to climb.

Tonight I drew the Fool from the Tarot of Reflections....

I have never used this deck before; it was still in card order from the factory. The art is crackled, like an old painting, and the perspective can be a little 'off'.
This Fool does not seem happy, is not blithely setting off on his journey. No little dog skips at his hidden feet. His reflected face seems larger than life (most of the 'reflections' depicted in this deck are smaller mirrors). Perhaps that is the meaning put to the fore: his sense of self and possible dreams are outsize for his reality though he does seem about to float away rather than step off his cliff. A very mental Fool rather than one about to go on his life's journey.

Just for fun I got out my Silicon Valley Tarot, a tarot deck for the truly computer-oriented.....Anyhow, don't use without the accompanying booklet. I drew the 4 of Cubicles, which seems to show a brain held between some very large fingers. A drop of liquid is falling from the brain. Has everything been wrung out of this brain?
The book does say that the suit of cubicles relates to thought and labor. Given the nature of cube farms I wonder if it also is a suit of structure and conformity. Yes, this is a card of burnout and overwork, your ideas wrung out for the benefit of others.
I can think of a specific area in my life that this could pertain to so I draw another card, looking for a solution. I am ever a seeker of solutions. I draw tump 16, the Firewall. Raise high the walls and build a fortification: remain civil and courteous, take refuge in order and protocol. Well, keep on going and guard my thoughts.

Note: a quick run around my usual tarot haunts shows that this deck has gone out of print but that its dedicated website is still up: HERE

Tonight's deck: the LoScarabeo Tarot of Metamorphosis. I'll warn you if you go looking that this deck has some odd art.....
I drew the Knight of Cups...on first glance he is a golden angel, flying in the bright sunlight, but on second look he is an Icarus figure, his wings melting as he flies too close to the object of his adoration. He seems to reach for the brightness, perhaps for another flying figure dimly seen above him. He seems rapt in his pursuit.
The accompanying booklet does mention the Icarus legend but does not elaborate beyond the expected: the Change here is in Sentiment. Anyway, this is a Knight of deepening devotion and contemplation of the beloved. Rather than think of a new relationship I am thinking that this is part of a changing landscape: we will Change together. Very much a card to allay fears of the Unknown ahead.
