This is a thread for talking about the Doctor in all his incarnations. Which one is your favorite and why? How does this one campare to that one. Who had the best outfit. Whatever.
For myself, I'm starting to see a lot of Two in Eleven. Not just the bowtie. He's a little bit sillier than our previous two. Nine and Ten always had an aura of power. A don't push this guy air even when they were being wonderful and fun. Eleven seems much more aproachable. Slightly bumbling. At least enough to be underestimated now and then. I can really see him delivering some of Two's best lines too. "Well now I know your mad. I just wanted to make sure."
Also, Eleven isn't in the poll for two reasons. One, he's still so new that I think calling him your favorite would be a bit hasty. Two, there was no room left.

My favorite was Pertwee. I started watching the show when he was the doctor, so I learned to love it with him in the drivers seat. Not to mention he is the only doctor to have had a car. Bessie was awesome! I also liked the fact that he was stranded on Earth, and was always trying to find a way to fix the tardis, so he could leave. During his tenure, I also came to love the Brigadier. The special effects weren't all too good, but it didn't matter.

My favorite Doctor is David. He was my first, so he automatically gets a soft spot in my heart. However, as much as I love his skinny rat outfit. My pick would have to be one of the Bakers. Tom had that wonderful scarf, and Colin had the amazing technicolour tiemcoat.

I am in LOVE with Colin Baker's Doctor. I mean.. he would really make me angry eventually, but watching him on the screen, I am very much in love with him, and his technicolor timecoat.
Rose, dear, the only time we spell "time" like "tiem" is when we are talking about Tiem Lawrds or TIEMCOCK. All right? (XDD had to make a little Lady President tone there.. couldn't resist, with the funny words, you know? *snicker*)

My fav doctor would have to be David, he was my first doctor so I really love him. The only companion with him I didn't care for was Martha, she was good but she didn't make me say, "wow they are great together." Donna was funny and Rose was awesome, so far she's my fav companion.
I also really enjoyed Eccelston, his doctor was great, I didn't want to like him at first but after a few episodes I really fell for him.
Matt so far has been great, he won me over in his third episode, I really enjoyed the way he portrayed the Doctor towards the Daleks. Also I like his quirks he's funny. Amy as his companion is really good as well, she acts very kidish at times and mature at others. And this time I don't think she'll fall head over heels for him, but I could be wrong.
I don't really have much to say about the others, I haven't seen as much of them as I want to, only because I haven't been able to find many of the older episodes.

He and Tom are my favorite and I refuse to pick between the two, though Jon's era was probably my favorite. I just liked the way it was done and the characters were some of the best; Liz, Jo, The Brig, the Master, all the UNIT boys. It was great. And good ol' Bessie, of course.

Romana II Rose, dear, the only time we spell "time" like "tiem" is when we are talking about Tiem Lawrds or TIEMCOCK. We still talk about TIEMCOCK? I'm so out of the Gaian Who-fan loop. Do we still shout "LOOOOOOMS!" ?

Back when I was active on the thread in Entertainment, most discussion revolved around either shouting "TIEMCOCK" or "LOOOOMS!"
I'd like to say that's why I stopped being active on the thread in Entertainment, but the truth is I quite liked shouting "TIEMCOCK" or "LOOOOMS!"

There were a couple of very pro-Lungbarrow/Cartmel Masterplan posters on the thread back then who'd respond to any suggestion of Time Lords procreating sexually by shouting, "LOOOOMS!"

And, I just shout looms because it's hilarious. Like I said recently in the ED official thread, it made me think of old Navajo women weaving Time Lords on wooden looms. rofl

Like I said recently in the ED official thread, it made me think of old Navajo women weaving Time Lords on wooden looms. rofl Excellent. smile LOOOOOMS! Nichelle-The-TimeTravler umm *raises her hand* what about looms and why are people shouting about them and what do they have to do with the doctor and should i be worried? You shouldn't worry. They're kind of a historical footnote now, but oh my they were big doings in the '90s. They were part of the whole backstory for Gallifrey that Marc Platt worked out and that fed into the last two seasons of the English Series and all of the New Adventures novels. The short explanation is that when Rassilion seized power then the Pythia (the last of the witch queens who'd ruled Gallifrey until then) cursed the Time Lords with infertility. Up until the point where President Romana got the curse lifted then Time Lords reproduced by weaving themselves new generations from genetic looms. There's obviously more to it than that but, look... heres a link.
