i knew it! yes! im learning! so far i only learn from anime shows so i want to learn not jsut in anime shows. so when it's the raw version i may understand! but so far i only know "Thank you very much." I just dont know how to spell it! but maybe i will one day... but i problaBY wont be talking much because i have school, so in summer!

Jare-jare... whee Anime doesn't help a lot at all if you don't have a tiny bit of basic understanding. My vocabulary sucks, but I slowly learn. And I'm so mad at my dictionary for only being JA-EN and still at 2700 pages. stare

Anime is good for slang and casual expressions. I used to watch a lot of anime and learn through that, but when I came to Japan, I had to throw away most of what I learned because it wasn't polite, especially when you first meet people in Japan.

Better to just enjoy anime and ask someone about the vocabulary later (just as a check).

lol for extreme formality, (I'm usually overly formal in letter writing to my Japanese teacher,,or maybe just in general), you can say:
恐れ入ります。(though this is probably not used daily since it is like thank you/sorry to trouble you)
Just don't say ありがとう in a restaurant. just say ども. >.> the Japanese have too many says of saying I'm sorry and saying thank you.
