Ertai walked out through his large metal gate...
His chest was bare, his hands were wrapped in his black leather gloves, the knuckles, the back of his hands, his palms and the areas around the underside of his fingers as well as the tips were all metal.
He tossed a rapier into the sand either side of him. Each one about held a three and a half foot blade and the hand guard was a messy twist of wire like spikes that twisted in a brutal and complex fashion. Each one of the rapiers had a ring on the bottom of the hilt.
His stomach and mid section was wrapped in a large leather war belt which held another rapier in a sheath, this one about three feet and held a spike on the end of the hilt and a ring at the top of a more normal hand guard with a simple one wire. He feet and knees were both covered in that same black leather yet held metal caps on the knees and a metal toe and a thin bladed heel on the back of the boot.
"Come on lets go.."

Shadowy, hulking men put their weight into levers in the arena's southern tunnel. Pulleys worked with a series of cranks, metal grated on stone and the gate opposite Ertai's slid upward. A built man with flowing white hair strode into the sun, his boot heels crunching the sand underfoot. His combat boots were similar to Ertai's, armored all round with sharp spurs on the heels. Greaves stretched all the way up to his hips to guard his knees and thighs. A loincloth and cup shielded his genitals.
He was bare from the waist up and moved like a wrestler.
Gauntlets with stone-encrusted spiral designs on the backs protected his knuckles; plates stretched across his forearms. The broadsword sheathed at his back slapped against his lats as he walked. His right hand rested idly on the hilt of the side sword buckled to his right hip as he approached at a steady pace, his emerald green eyes aglow as they swept over one of the most worthy of adversaries, taking in his enemy's similar appearance. Both were built like gods.
At Ertai's beckon, he dashed forward expressionlessly, nostrils and hard cheekbones flaring. Sand kicked up in his wake. He moved to the right in his sprint, verdant gaze trained on Ertai's hips, legs, and any arm movement as he strafed him, withdrawing the side sword from its sheath. The weapon was about the same length as his opponent's rapiers, its length combined with his forty-five-inch reach providing him with a total reach of eighty-seven inches. He swerved in, the grip on his weapon relaxed but firm, and brought its point to level with his adversary's head.

Ertai watched the man with a half cocked glare as he spat from his mouth a small plume of smoke, weaving into place his trademark burning cigar. His optics watched his opposition dash forward and at the moment he brought into play his little edge. His right hand snapped down onto the hilt of the rapier sticking out of the sand, from the wrist of his glove was a thin wire like object with a hook. He slid it quickly into the hilt of his rapier and gripped the left rapier with his free hand.
The distance was closed between them as his opposition aimed his blade towards his face. Ertai snapped his right wrist and the rapier shot out of the sand in a wake into his grasp. He took his stance and dashed forward as if to collide with his enemy but he had other plans in store.
Ertai snapped his left arm froward as he sent his rapier darting through the air aiming at his oppositions chest. In the same motion he brought up his right rapier to the tip of his oppositions blade in a sliding smack. He pushed off with his right foot and with his free left hand he slid another wire like connector to the rapier still in it's hilt, yet he did not connect it at that moment, he wanted to see how his opposition would react to the throw and sword touch.

He caught the glint of the wire around Ertai's wrist and, making use of the variable resolution his dragon eyes granted him, spotted the hook that secured his opponent's blade to his grasp. Ertai dashed toward him and Corourke's blade remained in place, held level. Before impact, in control of his momentum, Corourke pivoted to his right and continued to strafe his adversary, pushing the point of Ertai's left rapier away from his chest with the flat of his shortsword while Ertai's right rapier smacked his own blade. With the point of his sword still aimed at Ertai, he made a brief leap outward, leaning away while raising his level, and stabbed toward the left side of his opponent's neck. He'd land still strafing, and continue to circle from the outside.

Ertai was the master of finishing his opposition with a quickness. Ertai watched and calculated as his opposition moved, the smack of his blade against the other and the turn in direction. Ertai's body had been shifted as he dashed into that of his Descending Dragon style of Xing Yi. His right hand held high against his oppositions blade and his left low, had he held onto the left rapier and not thrown it he wouldn't of been able to set himself up for his opponents leaping action.
His right knee was bent forward when the blades had met, his left leg elongated behind him, the metal toe pressed firm into the sandy bottom. His bodies weight was thrown in the moment his opponent had leaped outwards. His left hand slid in one fell motion and hooked the rapier in it's sheath on his right side, and in one jerking motion he sent it sliding out of it's sheath at the exposed area of his opponents leaping action as he was aiming to strike Ertai's exposed next. The spiked hilt if contacting the soft area under the throat of his opposition would impale and cause massive puncture wound, if not kill.
Ertai having his weight thrown forward as he sent the rapier sliding forward into his leaping opponent would almost tumble to the side, causing his oppositions blade to slide down behind his back, yet as he did this tumbling action he brought the rapier which had first made contact with his oppositions blade down by letting go of the hilt in mid air and dropping his hand, letting the wire of his glove tighten turning the blade, he hooked it with his finger and sent it slamming down at an odd angle in between his oppositions blade and his own back.
His bodies odd angle caused his left leg to sweep around and with that he hooked in a large arching motion and same swinging down with his free left hand at his oppositions side.

Corourke braced his left gauntlet before his tucked chin and the side of his throat. Past training and combat experience had drilled into his skull the fact that leaping in combat was a big no-no, but for the skilled adept, sacrifices and risks could be taken, even openings intentionally provided for an opponent, to pave the way for counterattacks and create openings for oneself. As he made the short, controlled leap and shoveled the point of his blade toward Ertai's neck, his eyes tracked the movement of Ertai's left hand, a third blade making its presence known as it shot toward his neck. The spike on the weapon's pommel bounced harmlessly off the back of his gauntlet. Ertai tumbled, guarding his back with the blade in his right hand, which the point of Corourke's bared weapon speared into. He landed and darted backward, avoiding Ertai's spinning left fist. The faintest of coy smiles graced Corourke's features as he circled out of striking range, biding his time and waiting to bite. His confidence boosted after that first short exchange, he pivoted again, this time juking inward with all the grace of a gazelle, and stabbed up and under toward Ertai's chest before the man could retrieve either of the blades he had thrown.

Ertai smiled as his opposition made his way out of striking range. He laughed just sitting on his knees facing the odd warrior. Ertai didn't make a move yet slowly he shifted the toes of his boots into the sand behind him, digging himself a nice brace point. Then it happened, his opposition rushed forward and Ertai snapped his left hand to his side jerking the wire, sending the spiked rapier sliding back with a quickness right into his grasp and he unlatched it from it's wire and pushed forward into the sand with his right rapier pushing himself up just in time for his oppositions blade to come searing towards his chest.
Ertai smacked down with his left rapier, sliding the single wire hand guard along the blade as his body shifted, his wrist snapped and the hand guard locked itself around the flat of the blade. Ertai tried to strong arm and throw his left arm to the side, with it manipulating the blade. His right hand came smashing around as he attempted to punch the warrior in the face with the spiked wire guard of his primary rapier.
Ertai was no mere man and held a stature and strength to compete with anyone he sought to fight. His intense pale eyes stared back with a smirk, his teeth biting down on the cigar as he exhaled through his nose.
"This all you have warrior? You're going to need more than brute force to out match me. Every move has a reaction and every reaction has a reaction."
He spat out mockingly.

His blade parried to the outside, he juked back, narrowly avoiding the punch to the face as Ertai's wired rapier whistled past his nose, grazing flesh and taking a chip out of the bridge. He fought to keep his eyes open, wincing through the hot pain as gouts of blood bubbled to the surface. He snaked his right arm back to the inside, his left hand joining the right at his shortsword's grip, and attempted to plunge the blade of his weapon into his opponent's torso ********. If one of them died, hopefully they would be able to be revived by healing magic from a cleric on-hand or...something.
"Under the present circumstances, this minor show of skill is all I have to offer. I work best as a footsoldier under pressure," he spat back through clenched teeth as his blade sunk toward Ertai's midsection. His chin remained tucked and his body poised like a puma ready to spring. If his blade tested flesh, he would twist it inside to tear up his opponent's internal organs, then hammer toward the spine with a curt stiff-arm from his right palm. His eyes squinted through the pain in his nose, and he remained wary of the smoldering tip of his opponent's blunt.

Ertai's pale blue optics danced around as he watched his opposition move, the words he listened to made them roll slightly, laughing inside at what he had just said. Ertai's rapier had been locked with his oppositions blade and as his opposition went to drive it forward, Ertai threw his arm aside once again, and with it bringing the blade away from his body, still keeping his rapier on the inside. Yet again he followed up by punching at his oppositions wounded face yet again with the same rapier.
"Under the present circumstances, this minor show of skill is all I have to offer. I work best as a footsoldier under pressure."
Ertai said back to him with the exact same voice as his opposition. He laughed and continued on in concurring actions with his punching motion he feinted it slightly, cocking his wrist trying to bash his opposition in the mouth with the blunted ring at the bottom of his rapier.
"Under the present circumstances, this minor show of skill is all I have to offer. I work best as a footsoldier under pressure."
He said mockingly yet again this time his voice was severely distorted and deep like that of a demon. The physical aspect of the battle was only a minor aspect of the combat compared to the mental aspect, the seemingly apparent manipulation of his opposition was starting to show through as he noticed the warrior getting sloppy and frustrated.

His blade again parried to the outside, he weaved left and right away from his opposition's punches, the ring singing past his mouth as he narrowly evaded it and the pain that would ensue should it hit him. He simply stared Ertai down, still wincing from the hot pain of his chipped nose, knowing that it would all be over after combat, win or lose. Even as the adversary mocked him, his voice growing heavier, darker, like that of a demon's, enchanted power glyphs on the back of Corourke's gauntlets glowed with a multitude of colors; as he stepped back, creating space between them, he seized his broadsword by the hilt and brought it into play with a downward slash from the draw that would cleave into Ertai's skull.

Ertai laughed and as his opposition cleared the space between them he would toss both of his rapiers into the sand next to him. His opposition would bring a mighty cleave towards his skull, Ertai would step outside of the same direction his oppositions slash was coming from sharply. He would use the momentum of his opposition and send his protected knee sharply up at his oppositions side.
"I don't need weapons to tear your spine out..."

The point of his sword (gripped in left hand) slammed into the earth, his neck pivoting as his emerald eyes craned to follow the sharp movements of his adversary, who had tossed his rapiers into the sand and side-stepped only to deliver a punishing knee into his left flank. He released his hold on his broadsword, leaving its point and part of its edge in the earth it had cleaved into, and tucked his left elbow in as he circle-spun to face his adversary with his hands up, the knee having knocked him aside. Even as he threw a tight hook with his gauntleted right hand, attempting to catch Ertai in the left cheekbone (while still gripping the blade in that hand), it occurred to him that no matter how many times it happened, he still hated being hit.

Ertai moved with a steady resolve, studying each one of his oppositions moves, calculating by experience what he would do next. His eyes caught his opposition letting go of his blade and this was enough of an action to send Ertai forward with a volly of blows. His right hand came up sharply as his left hand darted back, his neck and head moved back as he switched to a side stance throwing his right arm forward under his oppositions left arm in an attempt to strike the elbow and the join with a firm punch.
In concurring motions his left hand would dart back and snatch his oppositions broadsword by the hilt, having it in an awkward stance. In his time he has fought with countless weapons the broadsword being one of which.
His oppositions swing at his face would miss letting it instead be guided into his shoulder which he took the impact as he hooked his right hand forward as his oppositions elbow, yet this was a mere feint as he was hit it caused his body to move inwards of his opposition and cause him to pivot and spin slightly, his stance lowering and his right hand dropping sharply before contact was made. The reasoning for the sudden swing with his right before was to throw his body momentum forward to brace the slam into his shoulder.
As his body turned and spun slightly he would snap his left wrist and with it his oppositions broad sword to the small of his back, letting the flat surface of the blade slide smooth against it. As his right hand dropped the blade would slide between his index and middle finger and with a quick snapping motion he would let go of it with his left and send it sliding through into his right which came down at a sudden and sharp arching motion at his oppositions exposed backside, his own body moving closer to his opposition to remove any distance his opposition might try to escape to.

Ertai's right punch catches him in the bottom of the left elbow; luckily, said elbow is tucked protectively into Corourke's side, restricting the leverage needed to hyper-extend or break the joint. The punch grazes his gut and rattles his funny-bone, however, and he fights back the wince ensuing from the twang of pain that shoots through the sensitive area.
He shakes the arm out.
With his left hand, Ertai grabs the broadsword by the hilt, holding it in an awkward stance.
Swoo~
Corourke's hook whistles past Ertai's head, hitting him in the left shoulder. Ertai snakes his hand in a feint toward Corourke's right elbow; Corourke pulls the limb back. Ertai does some pivots or spins and attempts to slam Corourke with his shoulder and get behind him or something. Corourke steps back on his left foot for balance, possibly wheeling to keep Ertai in his sights should the foe try to circle behind him, and pushes from the ball of it, trying to push-kick Ertai in the high point of his chest with his right boot to set him off-balance and knock him away, hopefully jarring him during the behind-the-back hilt-to-right hand exchange. The shortsword's reared back in his right hand, its glinting point angled toward his foe's neck--wherever he circles or falls to--and he quicksteps forward on the ball of his left foot after kicking with and planting the right, trying to get inside the broadsword's arc and impale Ertai with a single thrust. His left hand hovers between his head and his midsection and he lowers his stance, ready for the broadsword swing that could potentially cut him down.
