LOL.... I'm starting to see where my gym gets its inspirations from. The first time I went there, there was some guy flipping this gigantic tire and I was thinking "that's the weirdest exercise ever".
And then they eventually made me do some of that medicine ball stuff, pushing/pulling sleds around and yanking those ropes. Those exercises look kind of ridiculous to an outsider to be honest, until you actually have to do them. rofl burning_eyes

i done a few of those exercises of course yes lowering its intensity
also i do alot of those "Old school" workouts like lifting an old tractor tire and using a 10lb and 20lb mallet hitting the tire.
people laugh at it at the gym and some of the "Meat heads" who spend all day with simple weight training say its easy and not a real workout. i just simply hand them the mallet or rope and say "Try it sure as hell beats the s**t out of that handy bar and your boflex at home"
next to that those workouts i do were shown to me by the owner of the gym who we refer as "OLD MIKE" him being a retired pro boxer and body builder

Thats almost what i usually do when preparing for a fight, the gas mask thing is brutal though.... feels like you cant breath for the full 15 secs
