((Cool ADK! I love the setting, just the kind of place I like in roleplays.))
The was beatiful today. Shining brighter than ever in it's last moments before nightfall. Isn't that how it always is? We always strive hardest when death is in sight. Never the less, it is stunning, even in it's eminent doom. A young girl stared lazily at the glimmering water, looking so out of place merely one hundred feet away from the golden metropolis of Boh.
Walking slowly, she felt the gritty sand slowly working into her skin, adding to the already thick layer of calice. Distractedly, she slid the flip flops off of her feet. The warmth of the sand felt soothing, although it always burnt a little. This beach was a popular spot for tourists, a stark change from the fast paced, mechanical world of the city. It came as no surprise when the girl spotted a young man passed out on the water's edge. No, it wasn't his presence which attracted her, so much as his appearance. Purple hair, although not overly unique was fairly uncommon, and clothes were generally a good idea in the blazing sun of Boh. The girl noticed another odd thing, as she began to walk a bit faster; the boy looked very young, yet he was alone. On that note, she broke into a jog.
Reaching the boy, she knelt down, inspecting his appearance. Brows furrowed and eyes wide in bewilderment, she gently shook him. "Hey kid! You alive?"
A second too late, she considered if this was a very good idea. Bad things happen to nice people. Rescuing a naked, abandoned child definitely sounded like a "nice person" thing to do. However, considering that she had already attempted to wake the boy, she decided that she might as well finish the job. Giving him another, slightly harder shake, she waited in uncertainty.
((I'm going to draw my character rather than describe her, because that's what's easier to me. I hope that's okay. sweatdrop ))

((Here is my character's profile. wink Indtroducing, Zarya. Zarya is a 19 year old busy body who likes to know a little bit about everything. She's quick witted and rash, and hence, very impacient. Because normal jobs are too slow and boring for her, she works as a jack of all trades, running erands and doing anything with money in it. This being an unstable career, she can rarely afford rent. Therefore, she works as a handyman for the owner of the Hotel Irridium, taking care of the dirty jobs in exchange for a free apartment. She lives in a storage loft on the top floor, above the Presidential Suite. In her spare time, she likes to zip around on her bicycle (she swears she'll save up enough for a hover someday....) and hanging out at the beach. Her favorite sports are beach volleyball, surfing, and conning tourists into buying conch shells for far more than they're worth. She lives a fast paced life. On the one hand, she feels like she's missing something that everyone else seems to get naturally. She wonders if, in living in high gear, she has forgotten something important. On the other hand, she's afraid of what that is. She'd rather distract herself with other things and live in ignorance than slow down and face the truth. This doubt and confusion ocationally causes her to be uncharacteristically pessimistic.))

((*Sigh* And I thought I was a good rper...Eh, Now I feel like a newbe. I liked the intro, but I think downtrod is one word. Epsie!! Your charrie looks awsome colored! I think you're missing a word in your discription, you need a what in 'On the other hand, she's afraid of that is.' or at least it seems that you do sweatdrop I'm going to post, and bear with me, I make spelling mistakes often, but I usualy go and change them if I find them. I'll post my bio after I make my first post. Okay, here goes))
~~~
It was the end of a sunny day in Goh, and strange things were happening. Sunset was one of the most dangerous, or profitable (depending on which side you were on), times of the day. It was when the outlaws, murders and downright evil people came out from their hiding places, less worried about the City Gaurds. It was the time when people loved to look at the sky, and not at the people around them. When the people who didn't know any better were about and wandering.
Faris walked down the street wishing she knew how life was going to turn out, yet knowing that it was a hopeless dream, all the mystics had left when the mechology arrived. Everyone with any sence left when those stupid mechologist arrived. 'Cept me. I stayed. "I can make it, I'll change along with the rest of the people." How stupid can I get!! The scrape of metal on metal brought Faris from her reverie. Seeing a well-to-do man trying to fend off a man with a mess of black hair, clothes that were about at the end of their mending days, black boots and sword in his hand, she stopped. Letting a knife fall into her hand with a twist of her power, she circled the man. Getting up behind him, she waited for the opportune moment. She saw the ruffian's recognition, and his slight nod. She waited and then sudenly had her knife to the man's neck and the hilt of her other dagger in his back, it wasn't her problem he didn't know it wasn't a firearm. "Now sir! What has this man done to you?" Scaring the man and making him drop his weapon, showing him not the sort used to fighting.
Kivo stepped back, and mock bowed. He straightened himself and looked at the well-to-do man, who had fear in his eyes. Laughing, he replied to Faris. "Why he's maurading around as a rich man when we all know his a soundral and a liar! Taking from those who can't defend themselves, and muddling their minds with his fancy words!"
"Well I say-" The man attempted to say, but Faris pushed the knife harder aggainst his throat.
"You. Hush up." She growled. Shifting her gaze to the people around her, she was glad they were in a not well lighted street, they were a rarity in this area of town. "Now why would a powerfull man like you, be in the Dark part of town?"
"I was looking into some interesting prospects." He said after Faris had loosened the knife enough for him to speak. He spoke well, showing that he had been 'comfortable' all his life.
"Prospects eh? Good thing your fancy talk doesn't confuse the likes of me. Well I just happen to know that there are a few 'prospects' in this area. Now which one were you interested in? The hired weapons, the 'certain spices' that you folk like to indulge in, or...the ladys??" Feeling him stiffen at the mention of the drugs she smiled. "How many of your other well off friends know you love those 'certian spices'?? Where would that put you if they did?"
"Just let us take your purse and your jewles and we'll be off, Sir." Kivo said. He stepped forward and cut the man's purse from his belt, along with the one he had 'hidden' in his clothes. He slipped the rings from his fat fingers and took his gold cains from his neck. "Thank you ever so much." He said right before he slipped into the darkness.
Taking a small jar from her pocket, Faris took the cork out with her teeth. Wafting it in front of the gentalmen's nose, he slumped to the ground, passed out for enough time for him to be disposed of. As Kivo came out from the shadows he nodded and whistled a certain pattern, calling a few of the gang who had been watching. "Take him to a Light bar closest to our side, put a bottle in front of him, and make sure his people find him." He said as they nodded and picked the man up, heading east.
Faris headed west, farther into the Dark part of town as it was affectionatly called. She put her knives back in thier wrist sheaths and walked to her headquarters. Out of the courner of her eyes she saw as some of the outlaws, bandits, whatever you wanted to call them, melted back to their stations and as other followed her with reports and complaints. She walked on, not worried about what the would do behind her back, they wouldn't dare much. She was thier leader, at least for now, and they trusted her with the minamal amount they could. - - - - - When she was seated in her spot by the fire, she turned to Kivo. "So, what news?"
He ran his fingers through his hair. "Well, Deno saw a young man who was passed out on the beach and some girl who seemed to be on her way help him. The boy had purple or blue hair, Deno wasn't sure, and looked to be about 12. The girl was too far for him to get anything about, so we don't know where she'll take him. The boy had no clothes and didn't look to good." He sighed, not sure how Faris would react.
"Hum, this is interesting. We are know as to keep a shut lip about oddities, but one never knows what others will do. We'll just have to see wether she takes him the get Dark of Light help." She looked at the people all around her. Shacking her hed she looked back at Kivo. "What's next?"
~~~ ((I'm assuming there is magic, since there usualy is in anime and this as an anime guild but...If you don't want it, I'll change it. Okay, I know I when to a far extream, but you really had no guidelines so I jsut whent off what you gave me. sweatdrop ))

((Well there is magic and all. Remember, whenever in a Medieval/fantasy RP, give yourself a handicap to play fair but don't limit your imagination too much. If you think its possible, most likely it is. YOu actually sortah jumped the gun (I was trying to imcorporate magic into it later in the story) but you did a great job. Expect the unexpected yah know! =^o^= Makes my job easier. Yup yups. But damn. I have to do some serious work here. When I get back to my home computer, I'll try and type up a pretty good lengthed addition to the RP, 'kays? Okay. To left now yall. *cough cough* Sorry. Listened to the Cha Cha Slide. Oh well.
Oh yeah. I'm sorry to bother you like this Epsilon but if you have free time, do you think you could just do some artist representations of the characters as they come? Sorry if I'm asking much. They don't need to be full blown colored and all. Just sketches will do. Maybe make them more detailed as their characteristics are revealed and such. Oh and nice art on your character. Going to have to add on to the technology part of the storyline a bit but thats good. With such good players, the story will move nicely with innovation and creativity.
I'm looking forward to working with you all.

P.S You may create other genre RPs in the guild if you want))

((Hey, I didn't teach you anything. I just told you how it works. After that, the writing is all you.
Oh, and no problem ADK. I love doing concept art. Although, I think I'll hold off on your character for a while, cause I don't have any clothes yet. xd And Guchi-chan, I still don't know quite what a tunic looks like, so I'll need your help for yours. sweatdrop
Oh and Guchi, if you want, I can fix your spelling, since I'm a mod. (don't take that the wrong way, I just want to help.) Later!))

Heaving a sigh, Zarya fell backward onto the sand. She's been shaking the kid for a while now to no apparent effect. Squeezing her eyes shut tight, she wondered what to do. It was fast becoming dark and traveling at all would be dangerous, let alone with next-to-dead cargo.
In Goh, there were two sides of town. The legitimate "light side" and the....less-legal "dark side" And never the two shall meet, other than Destati Street, the division line. During the day, people felt safe. There was security in numbers. But once the sun went down, the other half of the population became active. Granted there was crime everywhere, but in west Boh, it thrived.
For a moment she concidered pretending to be an assasin or something, carrying her last job to the dump. That would allow her semi-safe passage through the darker side of Destati Street. But, those types were phsycic. They could spot an outside with 10 women dancing naked in front of them. (And most likely had, knowing the popularity of deep west stirp joints.) Pausing in her thoughts a moment, she slip an eye open to glance at the kid. Zarya was no saint, but there's no way she could just leave an unconscous something-year-old alone on the beach.
In her current position, the quickest way home was through the edges of the dark side. Most of the time, if you moved quickly and looked suspicious enough, no one bothered you. Suspicious wasn't a problem with this boys present state. It was the "quickly" part which would prove dangerous. Besides, all the really crooks went boozing at this time, all of their richer victims having already gone home.
After a bit of extreme self reasurance, Zarya got up and went to pick of the kid. Once she had him upright, she took a second to study him once more, before flinging him over her shoulder. He was certainly a weird one. "Time to go to Auntie Zarya's house, Kaikiko*." She said with an airy smile. With that note, she began walking briskly towards the near by intersection of 92nd and Isla.
((*Kaikiko-formed from "kaiki" meaning "weird" and "ko" meaning "child" So, literally, "weird kid"))

((OK, here i go, wish me luck!!!))
Leeran pelted down the street, running from the fat fool whose purse she had just stolen. It was just too easy. Her pursuer ceased chasing her, winded, but she continued along, there weren't any people who could keep up with her pace and even if they could, odds were that they would tire out long before her. After all, she had been doing this her whole life.
She ran at a slightly slower pace, dodging people and making a few quick turns to guarantee that she wasn't being followed, before ducking into a dark, empty alley. Discarding the purse, she tucked her haul into pockets sewn into her clothes. Counting it here would be begging for a bigger kid to come take it from her.
Preparing to leave, she peered out of the alley and her eyes were immediately drawn to woman carrying a boy thrown over her shoulder. This in it self wasn't all that strange but the feelings eminating from the woman were. Most people around here broadcasted feelings of hatred, malice, or sorrow but this woman was putting off concern for the boy, nervousness about her surroundings, and a bit of disgruntlement. Intrigued she left her alley to shadow the two.

((Here's my Character's info)) EDIT sad picture by EpsilonZero, not based 100% on description. sorry! sweatdrop )Name: Leeran Age: about 13 Gender: Female Appearance: Leeran has a very boyish appearance, she mostly keeps her short hair covered but those who have seen it uncovered all say a different color, the same happens with her eyes. She's small but not short and very thin but not malnourished. She very pale skin and is stronger than she looks. She wears boys clothes, pants, long-sleeved shirt, no shoes. Personality: She is rather standoffish with a quick temper but that is to be expected with her background. She is a logical person but despite this she often acts without thinking, doing things on impulse. She also has a kind streak in her with causes her to stand up for smaller kids and rescue kittens. History/Bio: Leeran doesn't remember a time that she wasn't on her own, while most kids joins gangs or guilds to survive, she is determined that she doesn't need anyone else. She leads people to believe that she is a boy because then they are less likely to bother her. She has the potential to become a very powerful mage but lacks any training. She has learned to control her powers somewhat but they break out of her control upon occasion causing trouble. Her magical shields tend to discourage those that would do her harm and their also good for hiding the true extent of her power. Unfortunately her power finds other ways to make itself known such as the color of her hair and eyes which changes based on her emotions. She is indiscouragably curious. Weapons: Besides her magic (which she rarely uses as a weapon since she tends to lose control) Leeran typically uses acupuncture needles, don't ask where she learned to use them she won't tell you, she coats them in various substances to have different effects. She can use them to aid healing but who would she want to heal? Pets: Leeran has a special affinity for animals and plants but contents herself with the various ones around her, rather than keeping one for herself. Though she does have some vegetables and fruits that she grows in the little bolthole she calls home.

((This rocks, now we have 4 characters!))
It was now completely dark, most of the street lights having been vandilized beyond repair. 'The perfect place for a murder.' Zarya thought wryly. Fighting back a smirk, she continued down the alley, wishing she had brought her bike with her today. Had she done that, she wouldn't be here. She tried to keep her eyes blank, staring forward; eyes are windows to the soul.
Cursing as her heart rate went up, Zarya felt imaginary pressure building in her back. The distinct feeling of being watched set in, and she was tempted to speed up. She kept her pace however, all the while willing herself to keep moving and not look back. Her entire demener oozed fear, and she prayed to God that no one was watching. If anyone was, she was clearly an outsider to them.
"They can smell fear ya' know!" "No they can't that's impossible!" "Ya i' is!" "No i' ain't! "Mom!" "Mommy's busy, Kozo." "Zarya says Westerns can smell fear an' I says to her they can't but she jus' kept sayin'..." "I' is true!" "Enough, both of you! It's not kind to talk about Westerners like that. Their world is much crueler than yours." "..."
Clang! Garbage flew everywhere and cans rolled around relentlessly, a flurry of motion all around her, Zarya fell to the ground, feeling two discarded chicken bones snapping beneath the weight. She'd run into a trash can. "Damn it all!" She said, kicking a trash bin in aggrevation. It clanged still more, before closing to a silence which, after the abrupt change in volume, now felt twice as unnerving.
Something snapped. All efforts of covertness ceased. She stuck out like a sore thumb, and there was no way she had fooled anyone from the start. Breaking into a run, Zarya focused on the one goal left in her mind; get out of here alive. Street upon street passed by her in a blur. Was that a person on the fire escape? A hover, barely missing her? She didn't know, she didn't care. She was completely, undeniably, scared shitless.
Finally, a glimmer of hope arrived; literally. A street light was visible, about 2 blocks down. It was a border marker, a sign that Destati was near. Just a little farther and she was in the reletive safety of the light side. ((I'm going to leave it there, in case anyone wants to interfer.))

~~~
Faris put her head in her head. Some of those bad destinations had cost a few their lives. Faris banished those thoughts, and turned to the improvements. The dark side is still as dark and dangerous, but at least people who can't afford the mech-medics, herb-medics or magic-medics know they can come her and at lest get looked at for no pay. They won't get anything for free, but they will at least know what's wrong with them. I don't think people should die because they can't figure out how to find money. Faris looked at door, mind wondering over the things that had changed since she had become the leader. Most had been good things for her people, but she had made a few bad destinations
Faris looked up and whistled a high note and two low notes. She watched as a pair of shadows pealed themselves off of the wall and headed toward her. Both were dressed in black and had cloth gathered around their necks which was normally pulled over their hair, head and faces. But they were in friendly territory, so they had pulled it off. But since one never knows, they still had their 'mask magic' on. Even Faris couldn't block it, and she had more power then most of the people on the Dark side. It made people not be able to remeber their face, that was why she had assind them notes. "Go out and make sure it's there isn't a naked kid on the beach, if he's still there, bring him back and take him to or bring him back. If you can find whoever took him, reminder them that midic care is affordible here." They nodded and swiftly glided out the back door.
They headed toward the beach. The unexpected noise of a trash can being knocked over made them look at each other. They nodded and made sure thier cloth wraps were covering everything and followed the noise maker. One of them noticed the bundle the youth was carrying as the other noticed the girl. The first took ways know only to it, and stepped in front of the youth. The other stayed in the background, waiting to see what the follower would result in.
Here hope restored, Zarya ran flat out. Just ask quickly as they had risen, her spirits fell. She was exhausted. Stopping quickly, Zarya moved Kaikiko to her other shoulder, checking her back distractedly. He world stopped spinning when she saw two forms not too far behind her. Worse yet, they were walking. Only badasses that new they had the upper hand walked like that. She ran and ran. But everytime she looked back, they remained, walking but still drawing closer to her. 'I'm running, they're walking, and yet they're gaining on me. Must be some kind of magic.' she though, finally giving up, she turned, screaming,"WHo are you?! Go away! EAT THE KID FIRST!!!"
