So I don't know if this is just me being depressed, but when I think of letting go of all of my worldly attachments (not just material, but friends/relationships) it kind of inclines me to leave this world behind. I do not want anything, I do not want to affect people, but it seems like no matter what I am doomed to affect others with my actions. So I guess the only thing keeping me around is the fact that other people would be hurt if I quit the game. Is it fair if I let other people go when they are still attached to me? Am I just completely misunderstanding what it means to let go of attachments? Does it only include material items or does it include people too? Thank you for any help 3nodding

to "let go" doesn't mean to get rid of them or to not effect them. it simply means to acknowledge that these things are temporal, nd do not matter in the grand scheme of things, and so it is pointless to get very worked up over them. people die, friends come and go, relationships start and end. items break or become lost or stolen, they only hold value when you need them, and alot of people think they need them for the sake of having them. and that is a silly and rediculous notion! xd

Renunciation is not getting rid of the things of this world, but accepting that they pass away.
— Robert Baker Aitken

There's nothing wrong with appreciating things while they are here.
The word "appreciate" means "to recognize the quality, significance, or magnitude of".
You can enjoy things and people for what they are, as long as you also understand what they are not.

I agree entirely. If this part were untrue, we'd all be sitting around with no joy for life at all. 3nodding Enjoy it while its here, just don't forget that nothing is forever.
