So life has come down to this:

After 10 years of supporting the Army cadet corps here in town with everything from serving as a cadet to taking them to provincial competitions and teaching them and being there as a staff member and everything else, I finally had to quit. It was a very depressing and disappointing night this evening.

I went in tonight thinking that it would be an alright evening. We had a meeting at the beginning of the night and rather than the CO(commanding officer) taking charge and doing her job, she let the 2Lt(2nd lieutenant) and the volunteer LCol(lietenant colonel) decide how our ACR(annual Ceremonial Revue) is going to be run and who gets to participate and whatnot. So it was very disheartening to find out that the LCol and the 2Lt decided that the drill team that was thrown together at the last minute tonight was going to be the big show and that the band that never even started practicing until tonight is going to be the second act. none of the kids in these 2 events know what the hell is going on and the kids in band have never played before and can't even play their scales on the chanters (they are for bagpipes). it was a disaster. and the kids that are on band are also in the drill team, which will not have any time to practice and they have 3 weeks before ACR, and are on the martial arts team. because they made commitments to all these items they are no longer allowed to practice for martial arts because there isn't enough time. so my ******** martial arts team just got screwed over and put in at the end of the program for ACR. so rather than embarrass the corps and make a fool of myself and the rest of the team, we are now standing down from martial arts and will not be participating. and the kids worked so hard to get to this point. they were going to start their katas and everything. so we got screwed over. we were just told that this is what's going to happen and you're going to like it. the evening was supposed to be broken down into classes like it always is and they were supposed to practice marching and whatnot because they suck at their drill. rather than that, the kids were told to do whatever they wanted and there was non-stop band practice all night for the ones that wanted to do it. but none of them were being taught, they were just told to read the music and practice. so they got no help. i come upstairs from supply and we are supposed to do final parade. the 2Lt dismissed the kids without final parade. i asked the CO what gives? she didn't know and apparently didn't care. so whatever. we all leave and i get home and find out that the LCol was texting one of our Captains about something and she was at work and didn't know what the hell he was talking about. so we find out that they want to change some of the awards to placate to a couple of snot nosed ******** little dirtbag cadets that get everything handed to them and whose parents have caused so much s**t and abuse because they weren't allowed to run the cadet corps as members of the parents committee. I decided to send a text to the CO saying that i probably won't be coming back next year. over the last 2 to 3 months she has been telling me that she doesn't want to lose me and i work so hard and she needs me and whatnot. instead of getting that as a response to the text, she says okay if that is your wish then i respect that and i will tell winnipeg tomorrow that you are quitting. and i haven't heard anything from her since. i was soooooo mad!

so i guess it's official that i have quit the cadet corps and will not be returning. so i will not be doing any of the things i originally had planned to do at ACR. i was going to wear my kimono that i bought recently and i was going to have a sword made up in time for it and i was going to look after the martial arts group and was going to have a blast. now i am going to take my time making my sword and have it done in my own time, i am going to wear a crappy collared shirt and slacks with my running shoes and i am going to support my sisters as this is the one's last year and since i am quitting, the other is probably quitting too. i am not going to do anything that i said i was going to do because it just isn't worth the time or the effort. so now i am going to focus on working at my dead end job at walmart and i am going to focus on my school work and get the course so I can open my own business and try to make the best of this dead end life i am living and hopefully make it worth my while again.

~I would still wear the kimono mrgreen I wish I had one gonk But maybe you can volunteer at a local karate class instead of at the military. I don't know if they have some up there but I know they have some in my area. But at least you have some more time to focus on your studies to help you get a better job ^_^

So as if Thursday night wasn't bad enough I find out tonight that one of the stupid little ******** that are being favorited ******** up royally. He put together a drill movement for ACR, as I said, and I found out tonight that the movement he put together was stolen from MY movement from 2 years ago. The little ******** plagiarized my work and is trying to take credit for it! And he was called on it by other kids and he ignored them and told them to just shut up and do it. So he is SO gonna get blasted next Thursday. The little ******** mad*

As long as you have a plan, and as it stands your is to finish school and open a business, then your life is not a dead end life. I'm sorry things didn't out with the cadets, I remember you telling how much they meant to you, but i'm sure you'll find something better. and please remember if you need someone to talk to you can always call me
