For the first week ever I thought I'd go with an interesting pair so I picked the twins Artemis and Apollo. ApolloApollo is a many-talented Greek god of prophecy, music, intellectual pursuits, healing, plague, and sometimes, the sun. Writers often contrast the cerebral, beardless young Apollo with his half-brother, the hedonistic Dionysus, god of wine. Leto (Latona) and Zeus (Jupiter) are the parents of the versatile god Apollo and his twin sister Artemis (Diana), the virgin hunter. Apollo has many attributes, but he wasn't originally the chariot-riding sun god Helios. He was god of prophecy, healing, music, archery, light, and truth, the twin brother of Artemis (Greek) or Diana (Rome) who became associated with the moon. ArtemisArtemis is the twin sister of Apollo. She is a goddess of transitions, a hunter, a virgin, and one of the goddesses who assists at childbirth. She was on the Trojan side in Homer's Iliad. Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and wild animals. Although a virgin herself, Artemis helps women in childbirth. Artemis watches over streets and harbors. Alright so the person who gives me the most interesting post will receive a prize.

These are some of the things people posted in my Witch Craft Guild on this topic. -Wild_Child-8321 Interesting note about Artemis, did you know in the old days when the Gods temple stood more actively followrs who were devoted to Artemis where sworn to be virgin to remain pure in her presence. The hunters use to leave offering of animal horns to her as well from there hunts. Pele_Psyche_Hecate Apollo never married, but seduced many young goddesses and mortal women. In the hopes of winning her love, Apollo gave Cassandra( my sister's name wink ) the gift of prophecy. She proved an able student and, like him, learned to see the future and always told the truth. Shocked when he suddenly turned amorous, ready to be repaid for his favor, Cassandra rejected him. Angered by this, Apollo gave her another “gift” - this one a curse that even though she always told the truth no one would ever believe her. Among his many lovers, several were males; the most famous, perhaps, being Hyacinthus, whom he accidentally killed in a game of discus. To express his sorrow, Apollo immortalized the dying youth by turning him in the beautiful flower, the hyacinth that greets us each spring.

Youre speaking of my patrion greek deities now. This is my forte. Ok, lets see...
Tho many other twins, such as Castor and Pollux, are resembled for being gemini, the ones that most people come up with are Artemis and Apollo. They perfectly demonstrate harmony between two opposites [ sun/day and moon/night, virgin and non virgin, painful death and gentle death ]. Those of us borne of Hybridian Blood [ not just the royalty ] try to personify them in everything. I myself constantly use Apollo as a visage in my daily life [ even tho I believe in Father, I do try to be Apollo-ish in all I do ]. And as for Artemis, I use her for my mentality, trying to look at things through peaceful, non violent solutions.
They are also my absolute favorite of the Greek Gods, with Hermes coming in right after them. Even in our fighting style, those of Hybrid lineage try to embody them and gemini as a whole, into our being. In one hand, the peaceful calm and gentle fist, used to defend and protect. In the other, the temperal fury and avenging fist, used to lash out at all those who would try to do harm to anything we hold precious. Being able to master these two diffrent beings and philophosies, and combine them into one for the betterment of oneself and their community, puts one that much closer to being a true hybrid.
As an rper, Apollo was also great inspiration for me, to the point that I made my own form of him, even creating a son called Apollis. And my favorite thing to do was spend time with his sister Artemis. I never felt as much peace as I did when I was with her. Gaming wise, I even use them in many aspects. On pokemon, for example, my umbreon is named Artemis [ he is a boy, but the name is cross gender ] and if I ever get a female espeon, I name her Apolla. Artemis has been such a major point for me, that I created him as an rp character, and he is now one of my mainstay males, used in much of my artwork.
The influence of these two fantastic twins continues to leak into my daily life, and I welcome it with open arms. They were the main reason I got into greek history as a hobby, as well as astronomy and star gazing. Had I not learned about them, honestly, I dont know where I would be this very day. Thanks to them, I was set onto the path that would lead me to become Hybridian Royalty.

When Hera discovered that Leto was pregnant and that Zeus was the father, she banned Leto from giving birth on "terra-firma", or the mainland, or any island at sea. Leto found the floating island of Delos, which was neither mainland nor a real island, and Leto was able to give birth to her children on the island. As a gesture of gratitude, Delos was secured with four pillars. The island later became sacred to Apollo. Alternatively, Hera kidnapped Eileithyia, the Goddess of Childbirth, to prevent Leto from going into labor. The other gods forced Hera to let her go. Either way, Artemis was born first and then assisted with the birth of Apollo. Some versions say Artemis helped her mother give birth to Apollo for nine days. Another variation states that Artemis was born one day before Apollo, on the island of Ortygia and that she helped Leto cross the sea to Delos the next day to give birth to Apollo

Apollo and Artemis were extrmely fond of each other, rarely wanting to be seperated. Artemis being the eternal virgin, and Apollo... well, screwin nearly anything walking, lol. The only "lover" Artmemis ever took was a fellow hunter like herself. But Apollo grew extremely jealous of their relationship, and sent Cancer the Scorpion after him. The hunter stood not a chance. Artemis was extremely angry at her brother for his actions, so to make up for it, the hunters body was put in the stars as a constellation. He appears during the warmer spring and summer months, vanishing when Cancer shows up. Still, even with that minor situation, the two twins love each other from the bottoms of their hearts. They emobdy everything that is Gemini, and as such, are constantly related to the astrological sign.
