In my clan's like 7th idea to making gil on FFXI, we have been farming angel skins. We've pulled up a few here and there.
But as of last night the words "You didn't catch anything" filled my boyfriend's chat log for 5 hours. Now anyone would know that there's something "fishy" about that. We googled it and found out that there's something called Fishing Fatigue. & That it's suppose to reset at Japanese Midnight.
We log on today and the same s**t is still happening. Contacted two GM's but they act as if they aren't allowed to talk about this secret status effect. They just end the conversation with-
"I hope your luck changes. {See you again!}"
And voila- He can now magically fish again. WTF. I really hope in the next game they stop killing every means of making gil to stop RMT's and just send their task force after them. (I did join the game recently, I'm trying to fund the money I make from the skins into my Cooking Craft.. Not sure if that will = more gil if leveled or not ..derp)

try zoning
sometimes the moon phase can effect it too
but over all, as the GM said, it's luck.
