I N T R O To the far north, in another time, there is a great city full of people where it is easy to disappear. This city stands alone and prospers alone in a harsh land where snow is on the ground most of the year. It is flanked by deep, dark forest on all sides but one. On that other side is the strange, mysterious Stryarra Mountain. Long ago there were many legends about Styarra. It is said that the mountain was home to shape-shifters who would show themselves in times of dire need. But everyone knows shape-shifters don't exist, right? Or do they?

S T O R Y Ancient powers are stirring on the mountain. The animals whisper of the return of the shape-shifters. There's also an evil force lurking there: the demon Huyu, who has tried to annihilate the human race once before, and wouldn't stop at trying again. The shape-shifters and their powerful human friends are the only ones who can stop him...
This is how our story begins.

Ivan Ivan prowled through the forest in his leopard form. He swung his head from side to side, keeping an eye out for possible dangers. The snow fell all around him. Any human would have been cold, but his fur kept him at a comfortable temperature. He was wary. He knew he was close to the city; very close: he could hear the cars going by on the road just a half a mile away. Suddenly, a sharp pain lanced through his back leg. He snarled with agony and looked down to see a hunter's steel trap caught around his paw. Help! He screamed in the language of the animals, but he doubted anyone could hear it.

RennéI ran through the forest with a ditrought look on my face.... I was tired, starved and ready for a break of hiding.... humans seemed more and more suspicious then ever. "Damn humans."I spit as I heard a faint noise of humans near the edge of the forest..... I stopped on my heels, turned into a deer and walked around a small tree, rubbing up against it. + Fae I ran along side all of my friends.... we were on our way to the forest.... It felt good to get out to the forest again... They had kept me away for such a long time. They would beg me not to go alone... so I begged them to come with me. I wasn't naive enough to go alone or at night. I knew that the forest was whispering about dangers. I was the only one that felt safe though. People would swear that dangers were everywhere in the forest. I don't believe it for an instance though. Its like I have a small voice in my mind, telling me it was okay. They weren't that easy to influence though; no matter what I said they didn't beleive me. At all.
"Come on guys!" I whined when I realized they were hesitating a little behind. "You promised! So did I! You can't go into the forest alone.... okay then, you come with me..... okay fine." I raised my eyebrows and dared them to try and back down now.

Reghia SplintersPale green eyes followed the lifeless bodies of frozen water as they drifted down, kissing the breathless earth. THe eyes blinked, folding dark lashes closed. Golden hair cascaded down her back as she walked silently through the forboding forest. She had been told many things about the forest when she was little, but being an adult know changed the way she thought about things. The silent gril treaded on, following in the footsteps of some noisy teens who where ahead of her. They looked to be haveing such a grand time that she almost became jealouse of them. Her quivering hand came up to her pink lips and she nibbled on it nervously: a habbit she had devloped. Her boots churned the snow, diminishing the pure white it had been to a pale brown as it mixed with the wet earth underneath. Her breathed formed in small clouds around her, but still she ignored the signs that it was cold out. Her jacket hung upon, revealing a thin shirt and a periced naval. Her pants were no better: skinny, but laking in any warmth. Only her hands and feet were trully warm. Her green eyes skanned the forest again, tempting herself to continue on with her maddened thought. She had only felt like comeing this far because of the excited emotions emitting from the laughing teens, now, their fears and worries where seeping through their skin and she could feel it. Reghia flicked her head back and watched as the clouds that came from her mouth floated up into the speckled sky. It was brillant to look at, but also sad. It reminded her of the times she would look up at the sky with her friends. Now, she had only herself.

Ivan He snarled and growled in a panic. The trap was burning him, cutting through the flesh and muscle of his leg. If he didn't get out soon, he would lose the use of his leg. He was already losing blood... the world was spinning, he just wanted to lie down and fall asleep... No! He screamed. Help! Someone help! Goddamn it, where is everyone? His vision was blurring at the edges. He could hear voices... humans! What if they were hunters? What if they found him? Instantly, he fell silent, but he knew the humans mush have heard him growling before. Or else they we deaf. The panic was overpowering now, it threatened to swallow him up... Help! I don't want to die this way!

Renné"Gimme a minute guys I have to pee."I said once I heard the noise... I knew they wouldn't let me go in alone. I knew thhey would convince me it was dangerous. My gut convinced me to go. I ran quickly into the forest and to the noise.... I gasped at the figure I saw laying in a trap. I walked towards it slowly and then squinted, not trying to see clearly, just a bit confused. It seemed more than human. I was afraid to touch it. Unconsciously my hand reached out, unbinding it. + Fae What the hell was that? I was sure it was coming from near by. Less then a mile. I ran. It sounded closer to my own species than human. "Aw s**t!" I exclaimed as I shifted back. I was standing in front of a human, unbinding a shape shifter in chains. "Who the hell are you?” I asked, my eyes flickering back and forth. I shot a questioning look to both. Who the hell are you? Are you stupid enough to help a shape shifter? Whats wrong with you? and then to the shifter, Why didn't you shut up? I know it hurts but seriously? Atrracting humans is worse!

((BTW, just to let you know, Ivan looks like a leopard right now, not a human. Also, words in italics are thoughts, or can only be heard by other animals and shape-shifters, not humans. I think I forgot to write that...)) Ivan Ivan slipped away from the trap, panting. He paced a few steps away from the human, growling low in his throat. Suddenly another figure came bursting in from the forest, and he realized it was another shape-shifter. Why didn't you shut up? I know it hurts but seriously? Attracting humans is worse! asked the shifter.
I didn't know, he said to her. I didn't know there were humans around. Please-- tell the human I said thank you.
He turned and limped away as fast as he could. He was still bleeding heavily. He just needed to find a place to rest, maybe go back to his cave.

Simon Jackel + Robertts Green Black paws ran swiftly through the snow covered forest, following absolutley nothing. Heavy steps followed along with the crunching of snow. The dog turned, ears perked and tail waging as the human came up in a slow jog. His jacket clung to his sweaty sides and his pale blonde hair stuck flat against his face. The dog barked and dashed again, it's patchy fur dissapering into the snow. The man sighed and contined on. 'Hurry up, your so slow! Just change already!' The dog's voice echoed inside the man's head as he jogged. He grunted, talking was useless at this point. The scent of lemon and snow entered his nose, but quickly dissapered as the scent of snow and blood grew even stronger. The dog smelt the blood and saw the splotches of it on the uneven snow. He sniffed at it and a low whine crawled through his throat as he turned his head towards the man. "Well get going Simon, you don't need my permission to help out an injured thing." Robertts voice sounded calm but it masked the cool sound of frustration underneath it. Simon was always so helpful, dragging him into stiuations that he didn't want to be in. The wild dog ran foward, nose towards the ground and followed the trail of blood until he meet it's owner. His yellow eyes followed the deep red as the splotches gradually began forming small puddels. He grew worred as his eyes feel upon an injured snow leporad. The leporads scent was a mixed one. It smelt of human, but still snow lepoard. Simon was precauotis as he moved foward, tail lowered and eyes lowered to the snowy floor. Simon couldn't be sure if the animal was a shifter or just a regular animal. 'Are you alright?' Simon cocked his head to the side, an obviouse question popped out of his mouth, makeing him feel utterly stupid at the time. As the dog watched the lepoard he grew worried, the poor thing looked like it had been dragged from an animal trap and was about to loose conscesness. 'Don't worry, and don't move, my companion will be here shortly.' Simon turned to look behind him to watch for the slow approaching figure of Robertts Green as he moved slowly. Snow made him sluggish, but he quickened his pace as he saw his friends anxious face. He stared at the snow cat and turned away with a look of almost repulsion. Robertts hated touching anything that he wasn't famillar with, but this was Simon's habbit to help animals out. As he leaned in towards the animal to pick it up, he smelt a very nervouse animal mixed with the scent of human. 'Shifter?' Robertts raised an eyebrow and sniffed again. This time he got a very icey smell with a mixture of sage. An almost smile graced his face as Robertts removed his coat and began tearing the sleeves off of it and tieing them around the wound on the cat's leg. "Don't worry I like this as much as you do." Robertts grunted as he tied the bright fabric to its white coat.

Fae
I nodded, "He says thank you." I kept my face calm and masked, "You should go. They're waiting.” I said, refering to her friends, I could hear them from about a mile away where they were chattering nervously about her.... Renné was her name I believe, I couldn't hear perfectly. I shook my head as she began to walk away, into the trees.... I then followed after the leopard, heading the other direction of the girl.... I walked for a moment, shifted and then picked his scent out, following it until I was close. "Are you okay?"

Reghia SplintersSounds flew past her ears, bluring with the silence of the forest. Reghia's eyes closed as she focused in on the good times she had shared with her two friends, friends that she had left. Her eyes opened suddenly as a surge of pain rippled through her, more focused though on her left leg. A sharp scream echoed through her throat, though the air around her was silent. Reghia's mouth was open, but no sound came from it as she fell into the snow clutching her leg. The emotion was intentense, the feeling of pain and fear. Reghia clutched her leg in one hand, bringing it up to her chest and pressing her ear down with the other. She just wanted the emotion to be gone. It was intentse and she hated it. Tears welled up in her eye, but that wasn't hard for her to do. Reghia was known to be a crybaby but she cried the most when she was in pain. The tears came and the blended with the snow on the ground as she clutched her leg. It was the only thing she felt as she watched with blury eyes the snow as it began to fall again, landing softly on her body. Her breaths came out in sharp sprees as she began to sit up. The pain was still there of course, but if she allowed herself to let the emotion control her, she would loose her mind. Reghia brushed the snow off her shoulders, still very much aware of the emotion that still reeled through her body. The emotion made her slightly curiouse as to what was causing such pain to who. The emotion showed itself to her in a pale yellow line, leading straight to its source. Reghia nibbled on her lip as she contemplated following it or not. Curiosity got the better of her as she stood up. She had been planning on heading back home to change but her feet had carried her in the direction of the emotion. She really had no control. (( Okay, I'm confused Panda. I thought Fae was the huiman girl? ))

Ivan He hissed as the man began to bandage his leg. Of course I'm not all right, idiot, He growled, his fur standing on end. Let me alone! But he knew he would be useless in a fight. He was getting weaker. If he lost any more blood, he would pass out and turn into a human. Then these people would probably take him to a hospital in the City. He was so dizzy... darkness was closing in... he collapsed on the ground, his blood staining his fur red. Suddenly everything went black. He felt himself shift to his human form at the last moment, but there was nothing he could do about it. He let unconsciousness take him.((yeah, I'm confused as well.))
