So one thing has been bugging me about D.Gray-Man...... How did the mangaka come up with the name D.Gray-Man? Anybody willing to explain? neutral

We're not sure (at least, I'm not) but I think at some point we were told it had to do with Allen (surprise surprise).

it was a attack of allen... in one episode allen used the d.gray man attack to many akuma ^_^

i heard the d from the internet stand for dorain gray man dorain gray describes some of the characters

yeah, i heard about what phantom said too, about Dorian Gray. He was in a famous novel called The Portrait of Dorian Gray, in which this man, Dorian Gray, is "immortal". Well, not really. His physical body never ages since all of the aging occurs on this portrait he has of himself, and should he look at that portrait, all that aging/time will come back to him and he would die....or something like that. I never read it. maybe it has something to do with the millenium earl or something.

maybe it's because:

Gray> for Allen(main character)'s hair
Man > cause ale is a boy if he's a gril itmight be women instead

Oh, really? I don't know if that's what Hoshino really had in mind, as there's no such attack in the manga.

I've also heard what Phantom and Xhiao were talking about, it being Dorian Gray Man. And Xhiao's probably right. I'll bet it does have something to do with the earl (I mean, how else could he have lived for a millennium?).
