Last summer I had so much free time I made a point of watching as many horror movies as I could. I watched the entire Nightmare on Elm Street series, the entire Friday the 13th series, the entire Halloween series, as well as possibly 300 other horror movies. I originally watched the first Nightmare when I was six and I loved it. After hearing all the buzz on a remake I got excited and even dressed up as Krueger for Halloween. I went into this movie with high hopes seeing as I have and always will be a Krueger fan girl. Well, I was wrong. Dead Wrong.

Once Again Platnum Dunes have Raped another brilliant horror film simply out of greed. All I can say is that they should be apologizing to the fans for this unbelievable piece of crap. Freddy looked retarded and even worse his voice was so annoying(reminded me of the whole Christian Bale raspy Batman voice at times) I wanted to yell shut the hell up at the screen every time he started to talk..This movie couldn't figure out what it wanted to be in places it completely Copies scenes from the original and at other times it goes off somewhere else entirely. Considering the director, I am surprised about the lack of explosions which actually is a good thing. Compared to the Original Cast I didn't give a damn if everyone died or not because none of these types were anywhere near sympathetic or even halfway developed right.

The CGI gore effects in places were downright shoddy and the ending was completely predictable well the whole movie was really. The only people that could enjoy this film are todays generation of film goers who don't really have anything to call their own since this generation will be known as the generation of hacks and copycats. People like me and several of my friends that Truly loved the original first and Second Film will hate this. As for which Kreuger is Superior well hands down Robert England. I noticed someone saying how this movie is better then the rest of Platnum Dunes films which isn't saying much because Crap is crap and the bottom of the barrel is the bottom of the barrel. Horror is in Serious Need of Creativity and Originality .

ITs a Shame Movies like this can be put in theaters and Good Quality horror films those that have lots of Creativity and originality Such as Trick R Treat and Frontiers and Martyrs to name a few get shoved directly to Video. At the theatre when I watched it, at the very end everyone including myself and friends stood up and let out a "boo" at the screen. Once again, Micheal Bay proves that he can kill any franchise. This "remake" as they call it was a waste of my time, and I garuntee that all of Kruegers fans from the past stand with me on the fact that this "remake" should not in any way be connected to the franchise. Do yourself a favor and just watch the original Nightmare on Elm Street. You don't need this garbage. Last comment, who the ******** falls asleep while doing laps in a swimming pool?!? It is bad enough that Hollywood has had to resort to countless remakes (get some ideas!!!!) but to flat out destroy them in the manner of A Nightmare on Elm St is just depressing.

What did you think after watching this movie? Agree with me or disagree? I want to know from the real horror fans.

I have to disagree, I think the New nightmare on elm street was good, it was not really a remake since there were some characters which were different than the original. Also the fact that the movie focused more on killings rather than the gore or nudity as the older versions did, made it even better in my book. The other thing I enjoyed was the fact that this freddy actually made a effort in thinking ahead when going to get his prey, such as when Nancy hid in the closet from freddy, only to find out he was in there with her.

i usually stick to the classics, though i did see the Halloween remakes, which i liked but alot of my friends did not, i have not seen the nightmare on elmstreet remake, but i will and i hope to give you my opinion soon, that said we all like our movies one way or another, we all have our likes and dislikes, and that's what debates are for, im glad to see you took the initiative biggrin

I found that the new freddy was sort of a mix between the old non-talking killers (Jason, Michel) being that he had a larger stature and some of the talking killers (Freddy, Chucky) cause he did talk but not really as many of the one-liners.

i like the originals best!!!

and ive heard on other web sites that lots of people think the remake sucks and i agree with them. Robert Englund is the better Freddy Krueger.
