Ok I know Dead in the Family has been out a week already. (Sorry so late I had baby doctor appointments last week) I finished the book in like one afternoon, I thought it was so much better than the last one a lot less killing and Sookie running for her life...anywho just wondering what you guys all thought...

Pretty garbage. Nothing at all happened, besides some boring...stuff of some sort. All that could have been put in a short story or skipped entirely.
Spoilers: Eric meets his "brother," Alexei. His old maker shows up. Alexei and the guy die. Bill is sick and his "sister" by Lorena fixes him up off-screen.
It was mostly filler and should be skipped.
On the plus side, much better than the last one. Sookie 's close to being her normal self (Heh, being tortured actually fixed her up, LOL). It's nice to see Hunter get screen-time. But the Bill-is-sick thing was not important to actually be dealt with until the near-end. And blah blah blah, fairy garbage and Dermot is insane, blah blah blah. Cue deus ex machinas and we're finished.
AND NO BUBBA. D:<

I agree with Jack. It was pretty...yawn..boring. Nothing but fluff and filler and wasn't that interesting.
However, I did enjoy meeting Eric's maker and Alexi (probably since I've been intriged by the Romanov family since I was little.) And although I'm not the biggest Bill fan, I was glad to meet his "sister" and was glad to see him happy.
Otherwise, this book wasn't my favorite and it just felt so rushed. And, sadly, Bubba never showed up. sad

I actually enjoyed this book, one of my favorites so far. It was slower on the action and killing, a little more family-drama, but I liked finding out about Eric's past, and it was a nice change of pace, especially after the Fairy War and Sookie getting tortured like she did. I can't help but think the next Sookie book will have more action, though- there seemed to be hints/ set ups for trouble coming along in this book. And I liked seeing a different side of Claude, and little Hunter was cute.

Im glad Hunter was there, but upset Bubba wasn't there. Hes one of my favorite characters. This whole time Ive wanted Sookie to end up with Erik, not Bill. But now, I say out with both of them and back to Quinn! He was another of my favorite characters. I thought it was unfair when she broke up with him for that stupid reason. And in this new book that came out? booooring. Try again. Her character was very dull. I had to force my self to read this one and not put it down. And then when Erik was finally opening up, what does she do? Rejects him. Ugh! I understand she was tortured, but they could've made her character more real, less boring and less self centered. I guess it sounds bad cause the whole torture thing, but there was something vital that was missed here. Reading the book was a big fuzz. Hopefully the next book will contain more action and less centered on the boring small stuff. Its seemed like she was trying to hard to get this book published. Just... eck.
