truth of WRFWRF = We are the Fallen. I know there are possibly a lot of people that don't like them cause of how they are taking the direction. So I am kindly asking for no hating please. Honestly I do agree with the vid, I mean I do like their first song they have out, but they do sound a bit to close to Evanescence for my taste. And I love me some evanescence. I would just like it everyone would say if they agree (then why), and if you disagree (say why). But please do not be rude in your post please. I just didnt know if anyone had seen this bit or not.

I hate that video with every fiber of my being, there are a lot of stories about Amy being bitter that I can tell, but I won't. Any outright bashing of WATF will be immediately deleted here. I'm a big Amy fangirl, trust me, but you have to remember that without Ben there would be no Evanescence. The album just came out yesterday and I think you should all take a listen to it before judging, because Bury Me Alive is probably the worst song on there. Samhain, I Am Only One, and St John are really strong tracks.

I agree with Soli. It's very rude to say that a band is an outright copy of Evanescence. Yes, they sound similar to the sound off of Evanescence's Fallen. But...look at the members... The top contributers to the musical arrangements of that album are WATF. I used to hate them, I'll admit it. But now that I have taken a step back and looked at them subjectively, I actually rather enjoy their music. They will never be Evanescence, and Ben does act fiarly rude about Evanescence in interviews, but most musicians, especially when they have a bad departure from a particular band will be rude. It's something you have to over look. I'm not going to let my personal distatse for his mannerisms detract from what is a rather good band. Plus, I don't know the whole story. Maybe he's completely within his rights to act in that manner. I'll never know. Don't get me wrong, I adore Amy. She is my role model. I look up to her in every way possible, but WATF is a decent band. People should give them a try. They sound similar because they are similar. It's something people need to understand. =/

i first heard of WRTF thru a friend of my dad's. He sent him an e-mail saying how alike they were. (I'm kinda notorious for how much i love Ev; hehe). I heard their song Bury Me Alive and instantly loved them. However, when i heard them live, i instantly hated them. i am trying to be more objective now, and they are okay, but Evanescence is soo much better. Soli, you kinda helped me w/that. razz

Did I ask for hating of the band? No I didnt not in fact if you read my post I said no hating to be posted. So before you judge me as down right hating them, I think you should rethink. By the way you two posted it sounds like you are attacking me for even bothering to see if there was any discussion about this.
I like "Bury me Alive", its the only song I have heard from them so far. I might listen to more, maybe depending on my time I have do so. I dont have monies to go get new cds. Sorry all of my funds goes into bills.
Get the whole sound similar bit, but they do sound a bit to close for me. Im keeping my mind open on this, I know there are two sides to ever coin/story.
I was just asking if anyone has seen it the video. I can get there would be bittersweet between band members, everyone is an individual and has their own ideas.

You don't need money to listen to music. Youtube has it all. Just give a member time to upload it, it's a new album. The video you posted states the WATF is a direct knock off of Evanescence. So, while you did not ask for hating of the band, the video is very negative.

If you read my post again, I was just expanding on the "no hate" policy by threatening to delete it. I also expressed hate for the video that was posted, but not you, hun. I actually know the user who created that and he was very rude toward the band, trying to post it everywhere he could to get more haters. I actually decided against my personal opinion to delete that video for the sake of discussion.

[~+~] Crimson: It's available in most American stores i think. There was one in particular they were going on about, but i can't remember off hand.
I was so annoyed when ordering it last night to find out it isn't released until monday over here. If i knew that i would have pre-ordered it! D:
Ah well. In regard to the video. Yes i've seen it before. To be honest, it's as if the person has looked for everything there. Yes, there's bound to be similarities, considering three out of the five of them are from Evanescence, and one of them was a main songwriter. And i will agree when i first listened to Bury Me Alive a long time ago i thought she was trying to sound like Amy a bit. However, after listening to it again i changed my mind. And especially after they "released" the other song, they have their own individual sound in my mind.
I just think it's a shame some people hate them automatically without even giving them a chance. >.<;

Solitary: I know you were explaining it, but it came across to me as though you were blaming me for posting a discussion about it. I didnt know if anyone else had seen it or not. Why not ask in a guild with other members. I just want to talk about it, I know its contriversal and it seems its transcended all about the fan base.
[Lacrimosa]: It would be lovely if youtube would work half the time on my comp. :3 Since they changed and I still have the old browser, a good chunk of the videos never work on my comp anymore. So yeah no real point of me searching. I know the video is negative, hence the discussion. It was going to come up sooner or later.
Also I had random thoughts while driving this past week. ~ Controversy: As stated, yesh the video is contriversal. It just seems logical for music to have a bit of controversy just like there are ones in science (walking on the moon issue), and politics (plane landing, and of course 9 - 11). I am sure other issues exist but I simply dont know them.
~ I thought the drummer and the guitar guy (sorry I suck at names) went and formed their own band. o.O Did that not pan out or something? It just seems weird that I thought that why they left (be they fired or not I wasnt there I do not know). I know Ben left cause of musical interest conflicts with Amy (or at least thats what they say).
~ Also last but not least, um couldn't WATF be kind of Ben's idea musically wise that he had for Evanescence, that conflicted with Amy? Does anyone else think that or I am the only one with that idea? Its just a thought.
