((I didn't see any rule to say we couldn't start a new thread, please delete if I have done the wrong thing.)) 3nodding Pixie set about tidying the main desk in the library. An old wooden desk, large and chunky, it hardly needed tidying as Pixie kept it in perfect order. Still, one could never be too organised, she thought to herself. Glancing behind her, nestled at the bottom of an ornately carved beam, Pixie saw the deep orange and black egg was still where she had left it. Like, as if it would be anywhere else? The blanket was only loosely wrapped around the egg as the heating was toasty warm inside the building. Before bringing it inside, Pixie had wrapped the egg up so well that not a patch of it could be seen. Returning her gaze to the desk in front of her but not her thoughts, Pixie pondered naming the soon to be tohopka. She knew it would be female, that was a start. The mysterious old man who gave it to her had told her that much. Still, perhaps naming would be better once the tohopka had hatched and shown herself. Hearing a thunk from the farmost corner of the library, Pixie sighed and headed through the dimly lit room towards the source of the disturbance. Goodness knows what strange happenings were occuring in that part of the library today. Considering all the magical books were shelved there, Pixie was beginning to comtemplate setting up some sort of roped off fence with warning signs. Still, there were never many visitors and most knew by now that care must be taken if venturing into that part of the library. Ah yes, she should have guessed. The book titled "Ye Olde Tome of Flying Spelles" had once again taken a flying leap off the top shelf and was fluttering its pages around on the floor. Maybe she should just shelve it on the lower shelves? Hmm, no, her sense of order just wouldn't hold with that line of thinking. Placing the book back on the top shelf, Pixie happened to glance through the shelving to the next aisle. "Hmm, what's that strange glow?" she wondered. Heading around the shelving to the next aisle, Pixie discovered another tohopka egg. "Ooh, another egg, and such a beautiful purplish blue colour!" Ever so gently Pixie picked the egg up and carried it carefully back to the main desk, placing it next to the other egg. "I think I need another blanket," Pixie said as she bustled off to one of the library's cupboards. ((Feel free to wander in to the library, anyone!))

"Shimmer! Will you calm down. Your going to make a mess, again if you don't settle down." said a young woman's voice as a young Tohopka bounded into the library a head of her. *The woman was shrouded in a dark cloak and seemed to be carrying yet another egg. Though she hoped that the egg would hatch, because it was that day. The shell had grown extremely hot, but the woman didn't seem to notice, plus the shell was starting to lose its crimson color.
*Shimmer as the young blue and purple tohopka was deemed bounded forward head long into a book case and fell to her stomach as a couple of books fell atop of her.* "ouch" She pipped shaking the books from her back as she got up. "Ow" She pipped again looking at the books, wondering what they were about.*
"See what happens if you don't calm down, you get hurt." The woman said shaking her head and picked up the two books and put them back into their places on the shelves. "Now be good and stop running in the building, or you will get hurt even worse then two books falling on you."

Pixie turned away from the cupboard where she had retrieved the blanket as she heard the visitors to the library.
"Oh hello there, please do make yourselves at home. I'm Pixie, please let me help you but of course feel free to just wander at your leisure. There's such a collection here now that you could spend hours here and not see all the books.
Do be careful over here as I have a couple of eggs. You know I just found one of them and I'm about to tuck it into this blanket. I see you have an egg of your own!" Pixie said, openly admiring the beautiful tohopka egg in the woman's arms.

*Kesmi as the woman was deemed the day of her birth nodded, shifting the wieght of the egg around a little.* "Yes, And he's supposed to hatch soon. I hope at least." *There was worry in Kesmi's voice as she glanced down at the egg that was starting to lose its color in places. She figured that the color was taking its place upon the infant inside the egg. "Oh and this is Shimmer, she still has some learning to do."
*Shimmer sat beside Kesmi's right leg and looked up at the person that was talking to them. Too timid to actually say anything that anyone can understand, she chirped a hello. Then vanished among the book shelves looking and sniffing around.*
*Kesmi watched Shimmer scurry away into the maze of shelves.* "Plus my name's Kesmi, I love to read, but haven't had the time lately." She sighed and looked around the place and went over to an empty seat to sit down in. *She lay Crimson's egg in her lap and covered it with her cloak.*

Pixie nodded hello at Shimmer. "You're a sweet one aren't you? I wonder when my tohopka will be born into this world." Pixie watched Shimmer scurry off down one of the aisles, amazed at how an egg could produce such an elaborately formed creature.
As Kesmi sat down, Pixie turned to her eggs once more. "Oh I sure hope this egg hatches ok. I really don't know what happens with these things." Glancing back at Kesmi, Pixie hoped she might know what to do.

*Kesmi had placed her egg on the floor and watched it. All the color had been bleached from its shell. Soon a spiderweb like crack startes to form along its surface. A crackly chirp could be heard from within the egg as it started to fall away. Revealing the soggy red tohopka lay on its side, breathing for the first time. It opened its eyes and looked up toward Kesmi and the other that was there.*
*From somewhere Shimmer came skidding back and looked at her younger brother. She sniffed at him and chirped a hello as she nosed him to stand up.*
*Kesmi smiled as she pulled Crimson into her lap and dry him off. she looked up toward Pixie and smiles.* "Don't worry, the way I see it. The color transfers on to their skins. I'm sure your little boundl of joy will hatch just fine."

"Oh my!" Pixie exclaimed, torn between worrying over her tohopka egg and what was going on only feet away from her.
Watching the miracle of birth unfold before her, Pixie was in awe of such an event. Here in her very presence, she was witnessing such a....but she was distracted suddenly by a vibration behind her and the sound, though slight, of cracking...
"Oh Kesmi! I think my egg is hatching too!" she cried, feeling the urge to run around in circles, the sense of awe having immediately washed away.
The orange/black tohopka pushed its head firmly through the cracked shell, shaking the stray bits off its fur. Struggling to get the rest of its body out of its temporary home, it collapsed on the floor with the remainder of the shell still stuck to its rear.
Turning to look at the offending material and forcing itself up off the floor, the tohopka made a "hmpff" sound and scrabbled its back paws out of the shell.
Returning its attention to those watching the event, the tohopka looked expectantly up at Pixie.

*Kesmi watched the orange and black egg hatch and chuckled as it struggled a bit.* "My she's a lovely tohopka.you have there."
*Crimson Star got out of Kesmi's arms and stood to shake himself off. His fur ruffling and falling back into place. Looking over toward Shimmer whom was just a tad bit taller then he was. Crimson blinked then chirped, taking off though the book cases.*
*Shimmer laughed and took off after her small brother. both padded through the maze and both came to a stop as they nearly collided with another newly hatched tohopka.*

Seeing the tohopka's expectant eyes, but still unsure of herself, Pixie mimicked Kesmi's actions, picking up the blanket and brushing off the brightly coloured fur. The tohopka nuzzled against her, knowing this was her guardian. Delighted by this, Pixie relaxed a bit more, her shock starting to wear off. She tentatively put her arms around the newly born creature.
"I would like to name you Monarch. What do you think of that?" Pixie asked the creature. Monarch, as she was now called, threw her head back then nuzzled at Pixie some more. "Well I think that is a yes!" cried Pixie delightedly before noticing some sort of commotion coming from over between some of the bookshelves. She looked at Kesmi to see if she knew what was going on.

*Kesmi shrugged as she laughed as her two came rolling back to her. Playing and chasing each other in circles until they knocked heads and sat swaying dizzy.* "Their so cute at that age." Shae said and walked over to pick them both up. "Maybe in a little while all three will be playing together."
*Shimmer and Crimson still swaying as the room was stubbern to remain in one place. Shaking their heads they looked down at Monarch and chirped a hello, well Shimmer more or less said 'hello' then chirp it.*

Monarch returned the greeting of the other two tohopka youngsters, nodding in their direction and trying to make a similar sound. Sounding more like a hiccup than a hello, Monarch hid her head behind Pixie.
"Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it very soon I'm sure," reassured Pixie.
She looked knowingly at the other two tohopka, sensing that Kesmi was going to have her hands full with them.
Looking back at Kesmi she offered "Would you like some refreshments? I'm positive it must be that time of the day."

*Kesmi had put the two rugrats down as they lay near her feet swaying a little now and then.* "That would be nice, Water will do for the three of use." Kesmi said with a nod at the offer.
*Shimmer and Crimson laid on the floor where Kesmi had placed them. They liked the idea of getting something to drink/eat. Though they didn't think they could keep much down. Well maybe if the room remained still long enough.*

Pixie bustled off to get the water, looking back to see what Monarch would do. Sure enough, she tumbled forward to follow Pixie, still unsteady but making good progress. Reassured, Pixie headed for the kitchen with the pattering of four feet behind her.

*Shimmer, pounced on Crimson to start the whole 'catch me if you can' game again. Round and round they went through the bookcases. Their paws skidding around the sharp turns they took. both came to a stop as Crimson pounced on Shimmer knocking them both into a book case. A whole shelf of books shifted and fell atop thr young pair.*
*Hearing the crash of books and the paniced squeaks of the pair under the books. Kesmi walked over to the shuddering pile and shook her head.* "And what did I tell you?" She asked Shimmer, who's head had appeared from beneath the books. *Shimmer had gave a small smiles as Crimson raped his head into her jaw as he was laying beneath her when the books fell.* "At least you're looking after him." Kesmi said thankfully and started to put the books into their places.

Pixie came back with the water, Monarch tagging along behind. Monarch seemed to be more steady on her feet already.
"Here we go," said Pixie as she rounded a bookshelf to find the pile of books and mishievous tohopka pair. "Oh thank you," she offered to Kesmi noting that she was picking up after the playful youngsters. "I can see those two are going to keep you rather busy."
