First, just an overall statement about the format (as it kinda goes with a few of the matches). There were WAY too many backstage segments and promos...most of which were useless.
Rob Terry's spot about going out to the ring despite doctor's orders could have easily been delivered by Tenay as Terry was going to the ring.
There were two segments that were pretty much the same...the two Team 3-D/Ink Inc. angle. On the plus side, a LOT less Hogan...but still a lot of Flair.
And the problem with all of this...It ate up so much time, that the last couple of matches were cramped together. That X-Division battle royal should have been longer. Hell promote it for next week! In fact, promote SOMETHING for next week. TNA books like they're not going to be around next week (which, with some of their decisions, may be understandable). They need to give fans a reason to turn in next week (and something that they can tell their friends...i.e. "hey, Jeff Hardy is wrestling RVD this Thursday.")
With that out of the way, here's the match analysis:
Roxxi beat Madison- Rayne needs to learn about pacing of a match. Her deliberate and violent style was good, but then there was a spot where it seemed the action should have picked up...and it never did. Despite that, pretty decent women's match.
OJ beat Rob Terry- The rematch that you've ALL have been waiting for...........seriously, their match at Sacrifice was not good. I know I said it could have been worse...and this was how much worse it could have been.
Jay Lethal/RVD beat Beer Money- As much as I love Jay's impersonation of Flair (he overdid Macho Man, but it was still good), it's nice to see him be himself. Match was pretty good. With all the pushes it seems Lethal is getting, it makes me question why he wasn't in the Top Ten (I'll get to that later).
EY beat Shannon Moore- Pretty good match, though I kinda wonder what the significance was supposed to be for this match since Guns have the #1 Contender spot...unless it's just another reason to show that there's a problem between Ink Inc. and Team 3-D.
Kazarian wins 8 Man Battle Royal for #10 on Top Ten list- Should have been longer, like I said. The X-Division kept people tuning in to TNA in it's infancy. Give them the time to shine (and promote the matches).
Hardy beat Sting- Another pretty decent match. Granted, not much "wrestling" but it was still action heavy. I was wondering why Anderson wasn't on the show (besides the opening segment) and then he attacks Sting. I think everyone can see where they're going to go with Anderson, and while it is interesting....seriously...he should have won against Hardy at Sacrifice and then gotten a huge push.
The Top Ten list- I'm kinda half and half on this issue. On the one hand, I'm glad that TNA is taking the voting out of the fans hands now (there's only so many Hardy vs. RVD matches they can do before it gets stale). Now, they've got to give it to their creative team and find a way to make angles work. And it was a cooperative process between the fans and TNA, so that's pretty cool.
Here's where my beef is though: Now that TNA has taken it out of the fans hands...they pretty much did whatever they wanted to do. Their "ranking system" (fan poll, career record, TNA record) is just as much a joke as picking out the ten guys they wanted for the top ten in the first place. What this was was Hogan and Bischoff looking at what the fans wanted and saying "well, that's not who we wanted, so tough luck." How else does Sting get to be number 1? Granted, I'm sure they have some kind of storyline that they want to do, but they pretty much said screw the fans, we don't care what you think on this one.
Anyway...that's it for me...Comments, analysis, questions...you know the deal.

Top Ten Contenders- 10. Samoa Joe-huh? Why was he kidnapped again? 9. Rob Terry-he has a belt so understandable 8. Desmond Wolfe-kinda thought he'd be higher based on his growing fanbase 7. The Pope D'Angelo Dinero-ditto 6. Abyss-Honestly suprised he's this high 5. Mr. Anderson-I was thinking more like 2 or 3 4. Jeff Hardy- I'm a fan but bottom five 3. AJ Styles- since he's now 2 and the former champ I can live with it 2. Kurt Angle- Golden boy but changed due to story 1. Sting- WTF?! *rewind* WTF?! WHY? Beating Jerrett earns you top ranking? Granted Sting is a legend in the making but just handing a title shot to him? What happened to pushing the future of TNA? Why not Anderson or Pope? Why not someone who actually does something besides promos? Sting has like 1 or 2 matches a month and in my eyes is dropping in status. Storylines trumped what fans really voted most definately. -Roxxi beat Madison Rayne- very suprised at the win and glad to see Roxxi back. -Rob Terry pre-match promo/ Orlando Jordan beat Rob Terry (I think Jordan succeeded in offending every gay viewer and his face looks like Jay-Jay the jet plane.) -Jay Lethal/RVD beat Beer Money/ Aftermath with Flair/Lethal and Sting/RVD Thank God Jay Lethal is back to being himself. Here's to hoping that match was the start of a needed push and possible X division belt -Hardy in-ring promo-this could have been done right before the match -Wolfe turns over Chelsea to Abyss- They really pushed the rules here. Hopefully this leads to Abyss going heel or at least back to being a real monster and please new entrance music. -The Band in-ring promo/ Eric Young beat Shannon Moore- I'm stumped as to what the point of this was. EY is passed around more than an easy high school cheerleader. -8 Man X-Division match winner: Kazarian-becomes #10 in the Top Ten Contenders as Angle is removed. Too short and should have been done the following week so that talk could spread about Kaz and Flair. -Jeff Hardy beat Sting- Unexpected. Glad to see less of Hogan now cut Flair's airtime. I thought overall it was a good show with a few problems.

Agreed on all points, Slaje. The only reason I can think of that Sting would be number 1 is that he's probably looking to retire soon and this is his last big push. He's done a lot for wrestling, so I can understand sending him out on top (like what the WWE did with HBK).

That made my ******** day rofl I knew someone would like that. @Kevin- HBK wasn't fighting for the belt and still went out on top just because he's HBK. He and Taker fought at Mania harder than they would for a belt. It's kinda funny how his mid card matches outshined the main event title matches in the last few years but he was that kind of superstar. I would have liked seeing Sting do that, he would go out on top while not pushing the new guys out of the title picture.

Would you have wanted to follow the HBK vs Taker match? It would have been like following a fourth of July fireworks display with a bottle rocket. People would have been so consumed with what happened before your match that many would have already left or would be so emotionally drained that your match would be forgotten.

I'm watching it to keep this page updated...but you'll probably be better off playing games (especially with Red Dead Redemption from what I hear).

iMPACT!- May 27, 2010 -Ink Inc. beat The Band and Team 3-D- Probably the best match the Band will ever be in since they let EY do all the work. Seriously though, not a bad match. -Kazarian beat Jay Lethal- Good match. I like Kazarian with Ric Flair. To me, it makes more sense. Probably cause Kaz isn't imitating Flair, but also because Kaz is not nearly as big as AJ is in TNA. Kaz is just the right mix of style and talent while not being at the top of the company for TNA to justify him being mentored by Flair. -Abyss beat Orlando Jordan by DQ- Fire the guy who keeps putting Orlando Jordan in matches...and then fire Orlando Jordan. -RVD calls out Sting- For the life of me, I don't remember how this ended...I remember the video, and then Sting said some stuff. Wasn't very useful as a promo. I think all it did was remind people they had a match...which they did later in the broadcast anyway. -Beautiful People beat Taylor Wilde/Serita- Not very good for a wrestling match, but if we go by Diva's standards, this should have highlighted WrestleMania....Seriously though, kinda sloppy. And why is Lacy wrestling...she's like the female version of David Otunga (where as Rob Terry is the white David Otunga). -Desmond Wolfe beat Jeff Hardy- Not a very good match. I'm starting to wonder if Jeff even cares anymore. And Desmond was kinda out of it too. -Matt Morgan, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe in-ring promo- I'm starting to like Morgan a little bit more everytime he talks. I actually like his new gimmick...though, I'm confused. Aren't the Guns the #1 contenders? Also, Angle said he's never wrestled Jeff...so...I'm guessing this match never happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MRl7Md7omg-AJ Styles beat Anderson- Has Anderson won A match in TNA, besides the ladder match before Lockdown? Seriously, he's probably the best guy on the mic they have there, he could use a push (and the company could actually use a push for him)...and he hasn't really won anything that I've seen. As far as the overall show goes, I have to say this: The format was MUCH better this week. There was a lot less Hogan, a lot less Sting, and less Flair. They kept promos limited and focused. There wasn't a rushed feeling at the end. What they need to start doing now though is promoting matches for the next week.
