I mean.. other then file a report about it?
Cuz I'm spamming out!
This has never happened to me before. What do you do? What the crap? Why would someone do this to me? I'm not interesting....
Its kind of stupid actually.
Its not like I don't have alternate accounts... but that one was my favorite... my best effort so to speak. I've spent a part of my life building that persona.... and now someone is JACKING WITH IT! Its like a tiny part of me was stolen out of me. I feel lost.

I'm feeling isolated. None of my good friends know about this account. I have no one to talk to about this. Why did this have to happen to me? I'm not even interesting.
I wonder if they just took my items? What are they gaining from having stolen my account? If they wanted me to be depressed... they pretty much did that.

My account was hacked once back in 2005/2006. I've been a member since 2003 or so. Believe me, I felt like I would never return.. and for the longest time, I didn't.

It took them 8 or more months to even get to my case and when they returned my account, they didn't return all of my items because there was no logical way for them to track down all of my stolen items.

I hate saying it, but the hack report system here on Gaia is a joke. I understand thousands of people get hacked on this site every day, with no discernible reason as to why.

The only thing you can do is wait and maintain your secondary account like I had to for nearly a year. I know it sucks, but eventually, they will get to you.

And who knows, maybe the system has improved since the last time an incident happened to me.

The system has definitely improved by a lot since then. The wait time is down to 4-6 weeks and they can see what items have been traded or gifted recently. As long as you know when it happened, they don't even really need a list of the stuff that's missing (though they do ask for one and it does help) - they can just see what's left your account, what IP address was used to access your account, who the stuff went to, etc.

Sometimes the system even picks up on suspicious activity on its own and suspends your account to prevent further damage. xD That's what happened to me. Though they didn't tell me that's why they banned me, so I was freaking out for a little while. rofl

Anyway.. I said this in another thread but I'll reiterate it here in case you didn't get it:

Besides filing a hacked report, you can PM an online Moderator from your mule - I've been told any moderator can do this, if you can't find an Omni Moderator - to have them disable the trading pass for your account. That way whoever it is can't do any more damage in the meantime. It's best if the account gets banned because then they can't even log in, but the trading pass thing is good too.

Just say something like "Hi, I'm the actual owner of the account (username). (username) was hacked and I have filed a report, but can somebody please disable the trading pass so no more of my stuff gets taken? Thank you so much!"
I always add in something about not being sure if I'm PMing the right person, and if I'm not please let me know who to look for. rofl You can also ask if it's possible to ban the account in the meantime, and I think in that case it should be an Omni Moderator you talk to.

Just remember you can go to any Forum on Gaia and in the very top left, there is a small green link that says "View Forum Moderators". You'll get a list of online and offline ones and what type of moderator they are.

Thank you Both very much. I suppose I should seek the attention of a moderator. gonk This is where my tendency to not want to bother people is a hindrance.

Its probably a bad idea... but they gave me the password they were using.... so... I took the opportunity. It was legitimate. All they did was sell or give away my most precious things. I'm upset.
